Great show combining Christmas traditions and food culture
Glen Warren brings both his skills as a baker and his knack for historical research, including first-person interviews, to create one of the best Christmas podcasts out there. He details the evolution of Christmas foods from around the world by weaving in historical details and connections to traditions with chef-level culinary information. He is at his best when describing the gastronomy behind the many baked goods that are associated with the holidays. I really look forward to each new episode of this podcast!

Wonderful podcast full of great info
I was recommended this podcast and was not disappointed. Every episode is basically a well written thesis on the dish spoken out loud by a great host who’s voice is perfect. He doesn’t rush through his episodes or cram them with ads just to pad for time. Great show. I really can’t recommend the show enough. I’ve been listening to the show almost from the start. The past two years having it to listen to has gotten me through some crazy long wait times at the doctors.

    Good content
The context here is interesting on the food, but listening to the food history the use of “CE” and “BCE” to signify time is obnoxious. There’s nothing “common” about the year zero, it’s simply an effort to erase the true meaning of the reason we spilt time on Christ’s birth. For a Christmas podcast, it is simply wrong.

“Little Jack Horner sat in the corner, Eating a Christmas pie.”
Nicholas Breton once said “It is now Christmas, and not a cup of drink must pass without a carol; the beasts, fowl, and fish come to a general execution, and the corn is ground to dust for the bakehouse and the pastry: cards and dice purge many a purse.....now, good cheer, and welcome, and God be with you.” Well, Glen has most of these bases covered! What you expect is someone to speak into a microphone generically - about food. What you GET is a well-educated, well-spoken lecture on whichever Christmas subject is Glen’s choice that episode. Much of the time he adds some personal memories, such as how this drink - or how that meal - affected him in the past. This podcast is just a joy to be listened to - whatever time of the year you choose to listen. It’s the Christmas Foodie’s equivalent of the History Channel! Merry Christmas - no matter what time of year you subscribe!

My Father is Santa, so Christmas runs in my blood. Thank you for all the history and information in this podcast. I have a family of foodies and you are inspiring us to go beyond the traditional Turkey for the holidays this year. Might even be a feast that lasts all day…Julefrokost. Keep up the good work. P.S. my grandkids think their great grandfather is really Santa.
