Always interesting and calming:D been listening for years

This show is great. I use it to fall asleep and relax by relistening to the stories. The history is so interesting so I wish more episodes elaborated on the context or there were bonus eps with a lot of the process behind the story’s and retelling them.

I am one of their biggest fans. I have been a subscriber for a very long time, and I find these stories wonderful to fall asleep to. I know nearly every episode by heart, and it is something that has united my partner and I as a common interest! It is the first podcast I ever listened to and by far my all time favorite. I recommend it to everyone I know that even vaguely likes podcasts. I also had an issue with billing, and it had been promptly fixed. The feed was not showing up no matter what measures I was taking. I eventually let the sub lapse and when I restarted the sub, it was there.

Could you do an episode dedicated to the little Greek myths Like how Greek people believed that Apollo would get really drunk and swap people’s geņitals around and that’s how trans people are made

This podcast is incredible, covering a wide range of topics from Journey to the West to Japanese folklore and the Odyssey. I’ve been a loyal listener since 2020 and recently upgraded to the subscribers edition in 2022. It was definitely worth it, although I’m not fully enjoying it right now because the subscribers edition episodes are missing, and the ads are currently present in the regular episodes. Whether you’re looking for an entertaining podcast for a long car drive, to help you fall asleep, or to wake you up in the morning, this is the podcast for you. However, the type of episodes you choose to listen to will greatly influence your enjoyment. For instance, the Journey to the West (Monkey King episodes) are probably the most comedic of any episode type. I recommend starting with episode 148A for the monkeys’ origin story. The audio quality is quite poor in the initial few episodes but improves significantly around episode 80. I hope this review has positively impacted readers’ perspectives of the podcast and provided an opportunity to inform Jason that his member episodes are not working, even though it’s not his fault.

For years I have listened to Myths and legends. Their stories and Jason’s puns and out looks on certain things always made my days a little brighter. A few years ago I went thru a hard time. I grew extremely depressed and started going to a dark place. Myths and legends always made my days that much brighter and gave me something to look forward too. You saved my life and I got help from one of your adds. The way you and your wife talked about what therapy did for you pushed me to go find a therapist and work thru these problems. Your story’s always make my days a little sunnier and you always fill my history/Legends craving. Thank you for helping me to grow in my knowledge, spirit, love, life, passions, and presence. You have a perfect voice for podcasts and I love your sense of humor and sarcastic remarks while reading. I love stories and have been searching for the origin of such tales. I just started listening but I’m sure l I’ll be working my way through every episode fairly quickly! Thank you for the work you do!

I can’t even stress enough how much I love this podcast. It’s just the perfect podcast. It is the best podcast ever. It is literally everything a podcast should be: perfect sized episodes, amazing stories, great sound quality etc. I listen to two or three episodes every night and I’m always super excited for the next episode to come out. Make more grimm episodes please. Also for the small percentage of you who don’t like this Just because of the ads. Get a life, how else would he make money? He literally spend so much time on this podcast that it wouldn’t surprise me if this was his only job This is my review

myths and legends has been a constant comforting companion throughout the past decade. i cannot begin to tell you guys how much this podcast has meant to me. it seems silly writing it out but myths and legends is always engaging, and i appreciate the care that is taken with sensitive topics. please bring back more long form episodes!! :)

There should be more podcasts like this. It has great storytelling, great delivery, and Jason is sounds CRISP. The mood doesn’t matter here, Jason can do the voice perfectly. I will always love this podcast, and I wish fictional came back. 50/5, great podcast, I hope it will go on forever.

Can you guys do more monkey king story

Hey Jason! I honestly think that this is a great podcast. I like how you try to make sense of every story, and that you put a creature of the week in every episode. Don’t really love the emojis in the latest episodes though; it just doesn’t seem authentic when you put that many emojis. I also like how all the ads are at the end of the episode, and that the (not very common) ads that are in the middle of the show are read by you, and are very quick and heartfelt. I love learning about new mythological creatures, and then turning around and creeping out my friends and family with (mostly weird) weird and gruesome facts about said creatures. I also like how, when it comes to sexist stories from the Middle Ages where people sold their daughters to husbands, you are wonderfully neutral, and you try to express that people were, frankly, horrible to women in general, which is stupid. God created men and women to be equals. I like learning about new myths, and it is great. Keep up the good work!! I know this is about 400 episodes too late, but in episode 67A, you asked why ill-bred was a really bad insult. Well, in medieval times, if someone called you ill-bred, they mean that you are 1: Born of dirty peasants and/or vagabonds. 2: Your parents are not married, and/or one is noble and the other is a peasant. 3: You don’t have any sort of honor(remember people were very big on honor in this time period). 4: You’re just a horrible person. Or 5: A combination of all three.
