    Thoughtful, well-researched, and helpful
It’s great to hear Roger bring his expertise and experience to help guide people near or in retirement. I especially enjoy his focus on tools and techniques instead of simply opinion or selling something to listeners.
  • On my way to Rock Retirement!
    Wonderfully informative podcasts
I’m late to discover this podcast…but better late than never. I spend hours just listening to past podcasts and learning so much. Thank you!

A great help and engaging listen
I stumbled across Roger and his podcast over two years ago and have been so thankful to have found it. I learn every week I listen. Roger does not hock investments or annuities, he believes in sharing his expertise in retirement planning. Roger is a great and engaging guy who is easy and real to listen to. He has a great retirement model to get you started with his 8 pillars to Rock Retirement. The podcast and Roger earn a 5 star rating from me.

    Excellent!
I have listened to several financial podcasts, but I always listen to Roger! He is helping me Rock my Retirement.

    Increase in length
Looks like this podcast is going the route of other good podcasts which is increasing the length. Last 2 sessions are over 1 hour with this week 1.5 hours. About 2x longer than it should be. Was a good podcast but simply isn’t worth that investment of time. It’s a shame because I enjoyed it.

Covering all the bases for Retirement
Roger and his staff have created an outstanding podcast. It is filled with intelligent, practical, and witty information useful for preparing for retirement . It emphasizes the financial aspects, but points out other critical non financial elements to build a great retirement.

    Like listening to a friend
Love the show. Roger doesn’t come across as a know-it-all, but talks to the audience as if he’s having a beer with them at an outdoor table. Gets his points across in an easily understandable manner. Doesn’t always offer specific answers, but suggests directions you might go.

    Great Show!!!
I’ve been listening for about 6 months and LOVE this show. Not only great do they provide retirement advice but they sprinkle in all sorts of valuable “life” advice. Thank you, I’ve learned alot!

    Excellent Information Every Week
I’ve listened to many podcasts on retirement and this one is the best I’ve found. I appreciate that Roger shares so much information without trying to sell you anything. He has a Rock Retirement Club you can join but he doesn’t push it. I feel like you get a ton of information without spending any money but the option is there if you want it. I can tell Roger really cares about people.

    Retire in style
Roger, the Retirement Answer has being the podcast for 10 years. It’s packed with fun and practical knowledge. If you think retirement is all about spreadsheets and money then tune in and listen to all the non financial topics that are really your focus. The money part is easy. It’s a great podcast

    Great podcast, even better resource
Roger has put an amazing amount of effort into creating a very valuable educational resource for anyone who is, wants to be, or is forced to be retired. Of course, retirement means different things to different people and anyone along that continuum can get something out of this podcast, financial and perhaps more importantly non-financial. There is a really nice team approach - I certainly enjoy some coaches more than others, some episodes more than others, but after listening to all 500+ episodes I always managed to take away something. Despite being free, it’s also largely free of bias, and although I’ve (paid for and) joined the club, the links and recommendations are easily followed for those wanting to dive deeper. Easy to listen to on my commute and my frequent walks. Glad I found it!

May 8th episode - stop doing these things
This was by far one of my favorite and most pragmatic episodes. I think we all intuitively understand theses things but sometimes get caught up in all the planning and organizing and forget the big picture and what is most important. I also really appreciate your honesty and transparency on how your thinking over the years on some of these topics has evolved. Years and experience add perspective that is invaluable for shaping our thoughts and our life. I have been a listener (and a fan) since 2014 and of all your episodes, this one caused me to take stock and action more than any other. Thanks Roger.

Advice for both planning and later living your retirement
The show has evolved over the years, and I like that he tries new approaches and keeps what works. Some of his best podcast sections are his when he works with volunteers on their individual retirement plans. There’s much to learn from their experiences and planning.
  • ssfarle
    AT&T Data Breach
Listening to your episode about the AT&T Data breach. You said that you really weren’t mad at AT&T. But have we ever really stopped and asked ourselves why AT&T needed your Social Security number in the first place? They really don’t! We need to be more mindful in asking why a companies selling us a cell phone/plan needs our SSN’s. They don’t need it. If we don’t pay, they shut off our phones. It’s that simple. Companies like AT&T shouldn’t be allowed to collect so much info from us that it can destroy our lives if they don’t protect our info.

    Great resource
This show is a great resource whether you are years away from retirement or already there. Roger and crew are very entertaining and do a great job of selecting topics and guests that are easy to listen to and understand. Some other retirement podcasts are super dry, this one is like ear candy that is actually good for you. Give it a listen!

    My favorite retirement podcast
Roger is so intentional about his topics! He addresses not only complex financial questions but also life quality, and encourages decisions that lead us to a fulfilling retirement. Valuable information And FUN!
I’ve listened to all the Retirement Podcasts- once. This is by far superior to any others, and I never miss an episode. Roger treats Retirement holistically; it’s about planning for the money, yes- but interwoven into every podcast are talks about lifestyle changes, family concerns, mental health, everything one can expect to be dealing with, before, during, and after retirement- it’s a lifestyle, not a one-time event. Roger and his guest speakers are always engaging, thoughtful and kind. Can you say that for any other podcasts you frequent?

    Genuine and sincere
Roger shares information in a manner that even a beginner can understand. He seems to genuinely care and wants to help those of us who are trying to figure out our options for retirement. He keeps his political views out of the podcast which is something I appreciate. He also discusses the non financial side of retirement which is so crucial as we age. Much appreciate this podcast! Thanks and keep it going

Start here then go listen to anyone else.
This should be the starting point for anyone thinking about or already in retirement. So much information presented in an easy-to-understand way. I’ve listened to and followed many of the people out there but The Retirement Answer Man is, by far, the best.
  • DaisiesMakeMeSmile
    Super helpful
This podcast has something for everyone. Not the average listener, I’m in the bottom tax bracket. Even so - I learn a lot about retirement finance that is helping me make the most of what I can save. And, the non-financial topics are great for everyone. I love what you’re doing. Keep up the good work!!

    Awesome Podcast
I have been listening to this podcast for several years now and have thoroughly enjoyed it. The podcast strikes a great balance between the financial and non-financial aspects of retirement. Best Retirement Podcast
I’ve been listening to the show for several years now and went back to listen to the ones I missed. I recently retired and find the show in line for my needs/wants/desires. I sometimes wish for a more detailed answer by Roger voicing the assumptions for the answer (because the assumptions can completely change the answer) so we can understand the full thought for a particular situation. Most of the time the subjects are very pertinent to my life in retirement and I appreciate the well organized and thoughtful, kind, show that is produced.
