First off, may I say, it has taken me years to tweak discernment so that I wasn’t listening to all the wrong shows (the ones that were negative, with no reprieve nor solution). Dr. Pat is not like that. She and Sabrina are such a boon to my spiritual studies and worship time (and their podcast/radio friends and colleagues, I would say, because she’s been a guest on some shows and it was obvious that she: 1. cares about God’s people everywhere in the world 2. Fits the role of a servant of Abba who is apt to teach, quick to listen and slow to judge 3. Believes in living an example of what they used to call the old-fashioned holiness...that, while holiness is on the inside of us through the imputed righteousness of Christ, that we, now saved by the blood of the precious Lamb, must go forth and learn to live right 4. Teaches to avoid the spiritual missiles of life, which Jesus did say will come. 5. Believes in signs, wonders and miracles, but that the enemy had came in, sown tares among the wheat, causing confusion and following of the wrong spiritual source (I’m thinking back to the story of Moses vs. the prophets of Baal, who demonstrate perfectly what is happening today and “deceiving the elect, even if it were possible.” 6. Offers hope and spiritual balance. You know how you listen to some shows but are left feeling anxious, lost and without hope afterwards? Not with Dr. Pat Holliday. I end up feeling spirally fortified to face my day (I usually listen at night before bed). Okay...hope that helps someone out there looking for a biblically-based podcast that will teach some things you won’t hear in most houses of worship!
