Excellent daily news summary - even for Americans!

With everything (gestures wildly) that’s going on between the US and Canada and the US media’s general inability to pay attention to any one thing for more than a day, I decided it would be a good idea to get a Canadian perspective on things. What I found was an excellent newscast with straight-ahead reporting that covers Canada and the rest of the world.

Bumper Grain Harvest Not Getting Out!

Why haven’t you been reporting on this Bumper Canadian Grain Harvest and Railway Companies insufficient number of rail cars available for East/West port’s and shipping container vessels not given a confirmed departure guarantees. What a Transportation Logistical Financial Failure! Why has this not been your number one Lead Headline Story? Especially with world shortage of grain. Good reporting, nice summary of events

I found this podcast when I looked for alternative perspectives on events. It’s good to hear about events and concerns from my Canadian neighbors, as well as their perspective on events around the world.

Good program but...

Really great quality reporting but very frustrated by the lack of regular availability as a podcast. As It Happens which follows the program is available almost immediately daily as a podcast, this program only seems to be updated every other day or so...

Please make sure the 17h posting is today's

This is a great podcast, but whoever posts the 17h EDT version always posts the 21h EDT version from the night before. So if you download this podcast, and you don't what yesterday's news, heard by Vancouverites at 6 pm PDT last nigh, wait until 18h30 and get the World At Six from CBC HQ in Toronto. CBC's inability to fix this confirms what everyone outside the GTA mutters about the network.

Great Canadian News

Living in the US as I do, it's difficult to find good journalism sans opinion and sans fluff. CBC News World at Six finds time to include light hearted stories (nice if you get depressed listening to a lot of news), they're to the point and pick up on all the major Canadian stories in addition to a couple major global stories per episode. I only wish they'd get their podcast titling and dates correct as it throws me off sometimes.
