anthologosA great pairing of weird fiction and wonderful folkEdit: i have given up hope for a second season…such the pity. They were one of the best things on air ***** Paul and Mike are two of the most creative and delightful people in weird gaming today. I had been a longtime devotée of the Good Friends of Jackson Elias podcast, until Paul left for personal reasons. I cannot listen anymore. But to be given two high-caliber tales along with witty repartee each month, well it does the heart good in these dark times. The stories are not without their rough edges…but that’s what makes it such a goldmine. I wish they incorporated more discussion of horror writing, or fiction writing…maybe they don’t want any feedback or reaction from the listeners except “awesome”, which is fine with me. I find the whole quite awesome enough. Even backed it. On patreon. Why more people dont tune in is a mystery. This is gold. Please listen to the stories and the Extras…you will be better for it.

mensan98th (Heather M.)Well-crafted weird short-short fiction.I've been a follower of Eldritch Stories since the beginning (all 11 episodes back!). This podcast isn't like others, because it's a combination of both unpublished (I think) fiction by professional writers and their personal musings. The two in combination draw an image of, via the Eldritch Stories, a weird, sometimes unsettling performance onstage, then via the Eldritch Extras, the casual conversation of the theatre owners in the wings. It's fun, and it reminds one to keep one's back to the wall. Just in case. I enjoy the short format of the tales because I can give them my deep attention without a long time commitment; I enjoy the lighter tone of the Eldritch Extras because sometimes it's nice to simply listen to a couple of friends talk about things you're interested in, too. Here's to season 2.

Wisconsin BearUnsettling, dream like short storiesWonderful tales. Each one is like a fragment of a dream. The horror is created from talking around the unknown without ever resolving it. Actually a really refreshing counterpoint to pop culture where every character gets a prequel and any sense of mystery is destroyed by over explanation. By just describing an event and the mood, these short stories really evoke a myth like quality
