Maleni143637LoooooveI found out about you guys when you were guests on heart starts pounding podcast. I immediately started following you guys. I just finished binging all your episodes. Investigator slater, you are absolutely good at researching and writing up the cases. Your unwavering cheerleading of Tank is the cutest, sweetest thing EVER. Tank you’re funny, lol. My favorite parts are when investigator slater laughs so hard, it goes quiet for a few and I’m thinking something happened to my phone 😂 also, your patience with tank is admirable. Also, as a California girl i looove you guys accent!

GinaBena22Investigator Slater = “Killing It” :)Love this murder podcast!! This has easily become my favorite true crime podcast, love this pair. The perfect pairing of super detailed and eloquent true crime detailed stories, and the levity from tank to not let you get wrapped in morbidity! Love love love

tittytidbitslisten ya Fr3@KFinally doing my part and leaving a heart. After listening to an unimaginable amount of true crime podcasts, I would like to officially declare Psychopedia as the best one available for your freaky little ears.
-
Jazy1227Definitely a freak…I was told about this podcast in June of 2024 while on a bachelorette party trip. I started listening to Psychopedia from the beginning on my way home from said trip. I have been binge listening ever since and finally caught up to the new episodes. I’m not going to lie, I hate having to wait for new episodes. I LOVE THIS PODCAST! Thank you for the all the work you put into this show!

TaderrrrTank gets annoyingGreat podcast overall, but my god Tank gets annoying sometimes with his dumb interruptions and childish behavior. For example the episode with the femicide PQ, and tank kept saying the answer was wrong or a trick question just because of the language it's in. Just grow up and stop being so stupid, are you 5 years old? And his statement about everyone doing their best, yeah, just giving excuses to every lazy, unproductive, unhelpful person. Someone not bothering to help another person in need, oh doing their best I guess. A parent neglecting their child resulting in endangerment, etc, ah well doing their best I guess.

CaitlinBiThe crimedy we all needed!Slater and Tank have the best banter as they detail and laugh through some of the most heinous true crime cases we all want to know more about, or hear about for the first time!! I feel like I’m in the room with good friends as we chat and learn everything true crime. Tank is -so- muscular and strong, probably the most muscly and powerful man I’ve ever heard of. I mean have you taken a gander at those guns!? Slater is the tiniest and strongest woman on the east coast. And her shoes are only a 4.5!? SO adorable. She is so dedicated and hard working, and honestly she has the sensitivity to tactfully address some of the most difficult cases. I would so be honored to meet them! I feel like I’ve gotten to know Slater and Tank as I’ve binged my way through their episode library, and they are truly the kindest and funniest duo. I would love to meet them one day! I hope you’ll listen to this podcast and give it a shot - you’ll surely get hooked as quickly as I did 🙂

UserUserUserUser4You’re Losing MeTaking 2 stars off after the Randy Stair episode. To air this episode within days of Trans Day of Visibility and not even mention the insanely high suicide rate of trans people is just negligent. Yes, Randy was clearly a psychopath, but people are complicated and Randy’s gender dysmorphia and his family’s disregard of it clearly played a large role in these crimes. I find it strange that this was completely ignored. Not to mention Tank’s apparent disgust with our country’s inaction regarding gun violence and then minutes later for both Tank and Slater to chat easily about firing guns for funzies was off-putting. The pseudo-psychiatry and therapy speak is getting old and religion is sneaking its way into episodes more and more. This went from one of my favs to the last pod I listen to after I’m caught up in everything else.

MargeNotInChargeI don’t care if you read thisMan…I just..like you guys.

plauge.doc.martenCan’t stop, won’t stop listeningThis is a great take on true crime cases. I’ve never been one for true crime but my friend showed me this pod (shout out to Dottie) and I can’t get enough. The hosts have a great balance and rapport. Like Tank said, Slater “is enthusiastic, passionate, well-researched.” She dives in hard and her writing/insight is amazing, even on cases that you know. Tank gives the real world take and asks the questions that we have. He gives a balance to the macabre with well timed humor to keep the stories level headed. Great work you guys.
-
Kpc1630Found on HSPSo I could tell your story telling was going to be something I would like from the join up with HSP. I am like 10/11 episodes in and I honestly love it. I find myself taking those pop quizzes with Tank every time. The little bit of humor makes it easier to stomach some of the rougher cases. Overall great job!

hll0531Addicted!!!!!At first...I thought the fact that Tanks voice sounds like the gym teacher from Scary Movie would stray me away from the podcast. But BOIIIIIII was I wrong! 🤣🤣🤣🤣 I've completely fallen in love with this podcast and honestly LOVE what Tank brings to it! He has so many good inputs to add to the podcast and Slater is always an angel. They kill it everytime and I'm always looking forward to the next episode!!
-
080525893279Awesome !!Heard you on Heart Starts Pounding and now I am a forever fan. I’m sad that I’m almost getting to your newest episode which means I’m at the end of my binge. Love you both, the camaraderie, the insight, the depth, is unparalleled on this platform.

es_k77777954Welcome Home FreakIf you are on the hunt for a captivating, moving, thought provoking, and top tier level of respect for true crime victim storytelling. This is it. Investigator Slater paints each case in carefully researched detail, and Tank adds insightful tidbits to human nature. (Let’s also be honest, the BFF chemistry adds a whole other level, and Tank is downright hilarious) As they have said before, Slater brings the gravity and Tank brings the levity. They truly are an amazing duo, who excel at what they do and bringing awareness to the victims they cover and their cases. If true crime is what intrigues you, then you will feel well at home here.

VeraLeasePsycho for psychopediaWhen I hear a friend is also into murder, I freak about telling them about Psychopedia, and to say I’m completely obsessed with Psychopedia is downplaying it! If you love murder (in a totally normal, true-crime way, of course), this podcast is a must-listen. The stories are wild, the storytelling is gripping, the research is detailed, the psychology behind the crimes is fascinating, and there’s just the right amount of dark humor to keep it entertaining while honoring the victims and their families. Every episode pulls me in, and I always end up texting my friends, “You NEED to hear this one!” Whether I’m driving or gardening (because balance),or just in the mood for some murdery goodness, Psychopedia never disappoints. If you’re a true crime junkie, trust me—this is your next favorite podcast!
-
nataliecbeckNew Listener!Obsessed new listener to you both!! I recently listened to an episode of “Heart Starts Pounding” and was instantly hooked on your BFF chemistry and knowledge that you both have in the true crime world. I’m currently working my way through ALL of the episodes and sending them to all my fellow true crime fanatics! You guys are my new favorites!!
-
pink moonsNew Kind of True Crime!I recently stumbled upon this podcast looking for a specific case. I cannot tell you how many true crime podcasts, channels, docs, etc I’ve consumed over the years. I feel like I was way more into true crime before it became mainstream. I grew up with my mother watching Nancy Grace and 20/20. Anyway, it’s RARE that I find a new true crime podcast that actually excites me. This one hit the mark in a different way I didn’t know I needed. I’ve been binging ever since. Tank is really enjoyable, keeps it light hearted and funny. Slater does a great job story telling. I really enjoy the cases covered and detail. I want all the gory, messy details. I HATE when it’s skimmed over. Their chemistry flows very well. I’m not a huge fan of banter but enjoy theirs. They keep it short but also sprinkled throughout the episode. It helps connect with them and makes the podcast more personable. I actually would love to learn more about them as people. I’m super excited to check out Unhinged when I’m done binging!
-
internetbridgetLose TankDude is full of ignorant neo liberal diatribes. Total cornball who shares trite “wisdom.” The embarrassment transfer is real. Slater is the heart (and brains) of the podcast and deserves better than this doofus. Send dad out to pasture. Until then, hard pass.
-
jeffmac86Crime FEIN!Yall are freaking GREAT! Love the spin you guys put on these cases, and the fact I’ve been listening to crime podcast for years now and you guys are always covering cases I haven’t heard of, is AWESOME!! Keep Killing it, yall just gained another FAN 4 LIFE!!!!
-
peterxvReally excellentThis is such a good show. Perfectly blends comedy (very funny hosts, I sometimes literally laugh out loud) with true crime. Also has a perfect balance between off-the-cuff banter/quips, with really good pre-written explanation/research on the subject. Found this show from when HSP had them on and now I have two favorites. EDIT: please for the love of god change the horrible RAM truck commercial theme music. Otherwise still love this podcast
-
kraaima'sMy fav podcastThis is my favorite podcast right now! It’s funny, dark, insightful, all the things. Tank literally makes me laugh out loud and I really relate to slater on so many levels!
-
elewis33First Time Ever Patreon SubscriberI LOVE this podcast. Great research, perfect flow of storylines and delivery, and tasteful jokes and banter. Tank and Slater have an awesome friendship vibe/working relationship. They are also individually relatable and come off as normal down to earth people. Can we be friends? 😂 I love this podcast so much I became a first time ever Patreon member just so I could get more of the podcast. Heck, this is my first podcast review ever. Absolutely worth a listen! Con: I agree with the other reviews, I am not a fan of the guest appearances. Messes with y’all’s natural flow together.
-
amandaloriannone of my favorite podcasts ever!i’m from heart starts pounding! y’all have quickly become one of my favorite podcasts ever. investigator slater, you make me feel so seen as i am just as darkly curious about everything, and i also share your beliefs regarding religion! tank always has insight, knowledge, and a laugh to add. anyways love the pod and y’all, keep it up🩷
-
Listener BewareNo More Guests!I have listened to your show from the inception and I truly love it, but I can’t stand the guests. This one was un-listenable as was the one with Mark Normand. He is so cringe I was embarrassed. Please stick to just the two OGs
-
Ain’t.broke/don’t.fix.itJust the two of usSTOP HAVING GUESTS. You guys are my favorite podcast. Outsiders are ruining the flow/banter/vibe. It’s not needed, please stop 💚 ….. Update 3/8/25 Three is a crowd. Guys… it’s a true crime(edy) podcast. Please stop with the guests. Tank interrupts enough (love you Tank), there is never a need for a third. Totally ruins it. I’ve never skipped an episode besides this one, but I will be skipping all episodes with guests moving forward.
-
Court6921Absolutely loveI would love to just hang with these two for a day. Slaters investigation and story telling skills are top tier. Tank does great at lightening the mood with his positive Tid bits and humor. This quickly became my number one podcast recently and I am working y way through the list. If you haven’t covered it yet can you please do a deep dive into Kibbi Linga!
-
mamayarbroughInvestigator SlaterOf course this show is fantastic with both hosts, but Investigator Slater and I share a birthday, so she has to be awesome 😂😂
-
Kimmie0617So Entertaining!I’m late to the party but was told about this podcast by a coworker - it’s now my favorite! My first episodes were during the WDW Marathon and while it seemed like the most un-Disney thing to listen to while running through Magic Kingdom, it kept me so entertained! The crimes are so interesting and the narration is superb. The story-telling is so well written and the banter brings up things we, as the listener, are probably already thinking. I just used two episodes to get me through the WDW Princess Half Marathon (again very un-Disney but what can I do?). The crimes are not for the faint of heart but if you like true crime, I couldn’t recommend this podcast more! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
-
Q&C’s momFirst time reviewing a podcastI’ve been listening to this podcast for a long time - and love the weekly cases - Tank adds just enough humor to make the cases easier to take and I love the obvious friendship you share. My real 5 star review is for Investigator Slater, her research, writing and delivery is fantastic. The cases are interesting but the writing keeps me coming back- thanks so much for all of your hard work!
-
mtranchfarmerwifeGood show!Sorry, Tank, you aren’t the only comedic true crime podcast (LPOTL fan too) but your reactions are still good! Would go to Patreon but being called a “Semen Demon”…I just can’t do it! You guys are doing a great job! I really enjoy the quizzes too!
-
Lunaa1720I’ve listened to this show so much I’ve started dreaming about itThis show pulled me in so fast that I didn’t even see it coming. The cases are always interesting, the banter is something out of a screwball comedy, and the pop quizzes are delightfully disturbing. I’ve been listening to as many as 4 or 5 episodes a day to catch up, and apparently, I still need more because my brain has started to manufacture Investigator Slater’s voice in my dreams. So far it’s been replays of past episodes but I’ve enjoyed them nonetheless. The presentation is always eloquent and respectful, without seeking to censor the facts of the case. I’m always surprised by Tank and Slater’s ability to bring humanity amidst these dark stories. 5 stars!
-
KatybabyyyLOOOOVEI found you guys through Heart Starts Pounding and I’ve been binging your podcast ever since. Thank you for bringing empathy and a touch of humor to something so dark and evil. Love you guys!!!
-
jennyok1347You lost listenersI loved your show until I saw your cohost share a meme making fun of Zelensky the day after he was ambushed in the White House by Trump and Vance. I can’t support that and therefore can’t support anything else he creates or co-creates. Trying to make a joke out of this is wrong. There’s a million other things to joke about but choosing the most sensational just for likes is deplorable.
-
sam halley❤️Not sure how I even ended up finding this show but I LOVE it! Most of the pods I listen to (12 weekly, 7 true crime) are victim based and I love it but this is was a great change up to my weeks. They explain the murderer without over empathizing for them & if we are going to focus on a brutal human this is the way to do it.
-
PegwadGreat job guys! One of my favorite parts of the week. I’ve listened since the beginning and love the banter. Slater I can’t imagine how much time you put into the research for every episode. I love Tanks voice and when he comes in with something smart or super intelligent. I always wanted to listen to true crime but didn’t want it to be super dark or heavy so this has been the perfect balance for me.
-
Gamer11399595002OBSESSEDYou guys keep my attention, make me cackle out loud and keeping me coming back for more! Not only brings the reprieve but also an uplifting vocabulary and sophistication. Only podcast I’m considering Patreon. LOVE
-
ShirleybkObsessed!I’ve been fascinated by true crime for decades and subscribe to countless true crime podcasts and I’ve never been more enamored with two people/co-hosts more! Tank asks all the questions I’m thinking and keeps me solely focused on investigator Slater’s true gift at storytelling. I’m currently on a mission to listen, or watch, every episode available. Obsessed!!!
-
Shunshine21Best Podcast Ever!!I have listened to true crime podcasts on and off over the years, but I often find the whispery voices of the hosts to be annoying and sometimes hosts focus on the gory details in too much microscopic detail that it is hard to listen to. I stumbled across this podcast from an Instagram post and decided to give it a try and now this is by far my favorite podcast. Slater and Tank (the hosts) are so enjoyable to listen to - they are relatable, hilarious, and brilliant. When I listen, I feel like I’m hanging out with some of my best friends. The cases are incredibly well researched and just the right amount of detail is focused on. This podcast truly is the perfect combination of true crime and comedy. It’s the best podcast ever!!
-
icunurse1993FinallyOutside of other crime podcasts that have gotten too political or watered down in detail for the sake of triggering, this show is such a relief. Slater is an incredible story teller. I hope she chooses to write a book someday. Tank brings in an honest perspective that doesn’t feel annoyingly privileged. I love that they can talk and don’t edit out any disagreements. It’s a healthy space that leaves the details in. Other than Small Town Dicks, Psychopedia is #1. Thanks for company!
-
Meezypeezy8182Something NewI’ve been listening to true crime podcasts for a few years now and have been looking for a new one. I came over after listening to the episode on heart starts pounding (also love) and was extremely impressed. So far there have been multiple cases I’ve never heard before which is a nice change from hearing the same stories over and over again, but Slater even brings new details to the cases I have heard about multiple times. I love the cases she selects, the way she presents them, and I’m totally in the same boat as Tank- I get the pop quizzes wrong all the time. I also love that I can listen to this podcast in the middle of the night and not feel creeped out because there is levity, but the gory details are not left out. Overall- absolutely love it!
-
Leenie_105“Welcome home”Another member in “The First Degree” podcast Facebook group recommended Psychopedia. I’m always looking for more true crime content so I decided to give it a shot and “oh my gawd,” I’m so glad I did! As a native Long Islander, it feels like I’m a part of a discussion with family or friends from home; the mix of comedy sprinkled in to balance out the seriousness of the cases is perfect, and the ease of the back and forth with Tank and Slater is great. Tank starts out each episode with a welcome to new listeners, or a “welcome home” to returning listeners, and with this podcast I do feel right at home. 10/10 ⭐️
-
Jaara SalivahCompletely addictiveI listen to podcasts about 9 hours a day. Since finding Psychopedia a couple of months ago, I haven’t listened to any other podcast. I am obsessed. Normally after spending so much time listening, I start to get irritated by one thing or another but I continue to look forward to listening to Slater and Tank and don’t ever want to get caught up on episodes! Dive in! You will not be sorry.
-
Colby StinsonAMAZAINGI was sent over here from heart starts pounding which is a podcast i extremely enjoy. I first started to listen to you guys a little over a year ago but I was so hooked on heart starts pounding I could not fully get invested……. But I decided to try again and since last week I have listened to you guys and your pod is extremely captivating. Especially when traveling a lot for the military, this pod is something I look forward too. I even showed my girlfriend lol. Love you guys and please don’t ever stop!
-
leaveoutbiasGreat Stuff!I found this podcast via Heart Starts Pounding and I was a little reserved at first. I was nervous about Tank and possibly his comedy and commentary taking me out of the story. I’m a bit nit picky and tend to get annoyed when these things are made light. However, it actually works! My favorite thing is that although I thought I’ve heard about every serial killer, harrowing story, etc. I’ve found that not only have I not but even the ones I have heard many a version told…. They spin it to make it still interesting if not more interesting. I’m also real excited that there are so many episodes that I don’t have to worry about running out anytime soon haha. Keep it up!
-
Kourt CummingsGive the pod by the meme guy a chance!I am an avid true crime podcast listener. When I say I’ve given darn near all of them a shot, I mean it, and let me tell you, there are a lot of stinkers out there. I’m also a longtime follower of Tank Sinatra, so when the promotion of Psychopedia started, I just knew a true crime podcast by the meme guy I’ve followed forever was going to be one of said stinkers. WOW was I wrong. Jump to 2024 doom scrolling as one does, and I just happened to see the episode “I Will Survive” covering the case of Allison Botha. It just so happened I was in between podcasts, so I thought, What the heck? Let's see where this goes. I was completely blown away and instantly hooked. Investigator Slater is hands down one of the best storytellers I’ve ever heard. The amount of research she does and the amount of detail she respectfully and almost reverently presents is truly perfection. Even the well-known cases you may think you know well, I guarantee she will have research, data, or insight into the victim and/or perpetrator you’ve never heard. Just when the information gets too heavy, Tank comes in with a one-liner, quick antidote, or incredibly insightful advice that will have you giggling and remembering there are actually good, genuine people in this world, not just homicidal maniacs. Slater and Tank have a genuine chemistry that only two people who have known each other for years and genuinely love each other can have, and it reflects in the podcast. So basically 10/10 would listen again.
-
Ka$h MoneyyyyHitherto there is no better podcast!!!!!I’ve never left a review in my life! I had to, I binge listen to these episodes while I work every single day! I can never get enough there is absolutely nothing wrong with this podcast, every single case is artfully done. This is the type of content I have been looking for since forever. True crime with the perfect amount of levity!
-
Dealiza39My new favorite true crime podcastSlater is an amazing story teller - she brings energy, details, and emotion together for an immersive experience! Absolute brilliance! Oh and Tank is fun too 😉
-
Banana78963It’s the best pot aroundIf Tank doesn’t get the title being the meme king, I’ll just 🫡 see myself out. A friend has been recommending Psychopedia to me for a while now, and I finally caved. Glad I did! You can really tell that Investigator Slater puts as much time learning about the victims as she does the crimes and the background of the perpetrators, which makes a well rounded podcast. Tank brings a much-needed laugh at appropriate times that help ease the intensity of the story. The banter between the two of them is great as well. 10/10 recommend. Also, appreciate Slater *sometimes* mispronouncing words as I get roasted on the daily for this.
-
ChickenHeadWhere?Love love loveI came over from your collab with Kaelyn Moore on HSP, and wow!! I usually skip all collab episodes because I’m very particular about the chemistry of a podcast but I listened to yours and I’m SO glad I did. Your chemistry, jokes, details and storytelling abilities make for an electric podcast that is funny, entertaining and educational while being respectful. What you both have created is rare and phenomenal.
-
ChrissyMRNFrom a true crime fanaticI have been a huge true crime fan for many years. I have an ever rotating list of podcasts that I love and listen to. This is the first time I have ever wanted to write a review and think about doing so with every single episode I listen to (which is basically all of them). Psychopedia has quickly become my favorite. Even though I’ve heard many of the cases before, hearing the way Investigator Slater tells the stories with such amazing writing skills, attention to detail, and respect for the victims, makes me feel like I’m hearing an almost new story. And I absolutely love when I’m surprised with a case I’ve never heard before. Tank’s comedic commentary and Tiddies at the end always lightens the mood. And their banter together has me literally laughing out loud with every episode. Match all of that up with the fact that I am the same age as them and also from Long Island, I also feel like I’m hanging out with a bunch of friends. Especially when they talk about nostalgic stuff like the NY Hardcore scene, Bordybarn and even the Gilgo Beach Case and no one wanting to drive out to Manorville! I love Psychopedia so much that I follow them on multiple platforms just because I know how much they appreciate their listeners and want to support them as best as I can. Keep bringing the amazing episodes! ❤️
