I have been with No Dunks crew since the Basketball Jones days, and I’m guessing 90+% of people listening to this found it because of them. The mad cap flavor is the same, but the lack of structure makes it so inconsistent that within and across episodes there is ample opportunities to cringe. Matty O has an underlying anti-intellectual bent that rears its head frequently, and his worst habit is the framing “I don’t know much about X, but” and proceeds to pontificate. This reached its peak w Some really ill-informed music commentary this week and it’s just a bit much to listen to someone bemoan things he actively does not want to understand. There are plenty of uninformed bad takes out there - just roll down a window - so spare yourself the waste and skip this podcast. No one would know about them at all without the coat tails and the host reminds you of that every week

A wonderful antidote to the events of the modern world, this podcast is like hanging out with your funniest, good-hearted friends. Immaculate vibes, fun conversations, movie reviews, and interviews with comedians and no dunkers alike. The first podcast I listen to twice a week. Matt, JD, and Rachel are the best.

Funny banter between three friends who have great opinions and interesting view points. A much needed laugh and I love that they don’t take themselves too seriously. I’ve been listening since the beginning of the podcast. I love you guys! Keep it up!

Matt, JD, and Rachel always bring the fun. I know Matt and JD from their NBA pods over the years. Very excited Rachel made the leap and joined them for Is This Good. Love her perspective. One of the few PODs my wife and I can listen to on road trips together. Jump in.

Matty O is great. Some of the guests don’t seem to be in line with Matty O’s following based off the No Dunks flavor. A little off putting. Update: I stopped listening to the episodes with guests. I only listen to the JD/Rachel/No Dunks crew episodes.

Come for Matt and JD being oddly hilarious Canadians. Stay for the somehow even more hilarious guests. Become a paying peehound for Rachel singing Cher.

Somehow I went from occasionally listening to NBA podcasts to now *needing these guys (and Rachel) in my ears. I don't know how I got here but I look forward to every episode - somehow. Calendly links to "schedule time with me" - are these good?

It’s just not. It’s a whole different thing. Don’t expect No Dunks. Bc it’s not No Dunks. It’s something just as fun if not more. By the guy who makes everyone at No Dunks laugh. Including me. Often. And JD doesn’t get to talk on No Dunks bc Matt will have him drawn and quartered. But it is NOT No Dunks. If I hear anyone mention No Dunks I swear to god.

JT, Mark and Austin have such good chemistry. I also like when JT’s sister Raquel comes on although she does laugh a lot. Overall 5/5 show

Long time listener, first time reviewer. Hearing JD mention how difficult it is to leave a review on apple…i had to give it a try. In his defense, it did take me about 10 clicks to figure it out and it took me dozens of seconds to complete this task. Keep up the amazing work Matt, JD, and Rachel!

This is going to sound like a back-handed compliment but this is my favorite sleep show. I have a set of podcasts that I like to listen to when I’m trying to fall asleep and this has made its way to the top of the playlist. The podcasts that make it on the “sleep show” playlist are typically light-hearted, funny, have good banter and not too many ads. This podcast checks all those boxes! I especially like the great beyond because of the chemistry between the three members of the crew. I especially like when Matt lures Rachel into telling a story that elicits a lovingly embarrassed groan from JD. This is not to say I wouldn’t listen to it during the day but I save it for night night time.

I love Is This Good? !!! Matt and jd have great chemistry(with each other and guests), banter and fun discussions. the conversations are always engaging and entertaining. If you're looking for a podcast that will make you laugh, listen now !!!!!!

I kept ignoring the No Dunks plugs for this show — thought it wasn’t my type of podcast. Flash forward a year and I’ve listened to every episode (ever). Matt, JD, Rachel, and guests are hilarious (and sometimes incisive) on any and every topic. Give it a try, you won’t regret it.

If, like me, you always thought that The Complainted Area should become its own pod, you will love ITG! Matt and JD are known delights, Rachel is a revelation. Who knew Digby had treasures that don’t come from the sea!

I’ve been listening to many many many different podcasts for the last 10+ years. This is my all time favorite. I also was sad when matty o left the starters crew, but this pod is in fact glorious. JD is actually the goat of the no dunks extended universe. Rachel is also amazing. In the words of Conner from the great Style Boyz, never stop never stopping.

I was legitimately sad when Matt was no longer part of the Starters/No Dunks production team because The Complainted Area might have somehow been my favorite part of the Drop pods. Not only is Matt back in my life, but he’s basically expanded The Compainted area to an entire hr-long show. It’s like if Starburst suddenly dropped the strawberry flavor, then—after years longingly chewing my way through lackluster taffies—they unexpectedly came out with a strawberry version peppered with some cherries (JD). Good job fellas. You are crushing it!

This is the one podcast that both my wife and I can enjoy together during our daily commute into and out of the city. Listening to Matt and JD has become a highlight in our day and we’ve grown closer because of that. As Matt, JD and their guest discuss whether certain things are good, both my wife and I have learned a lot about each other as we often disagree with a variety of topics that the boys and guest have discussed. After arguing each other’s points on whether this is good or not, we will usually try and harness that energy and take it to the bedroom and let me tell you, our sex life couldn’t be better! Btw, I have determined that JD is my spirit animal. Well worth a listen, Is this Good should be added to everyone’s queue.

I love this show. Matt Osten and JD can talk about basically anything and I will happily listen. After working behind the scenes for years as a producer, including several seasons with “The Starters” on NBA TV, Matt really shines at the center of the conversation and I’m so glad he created this platform to share his talent. Matt is a great comedy writer, interviewer and host, and I hope this show introduces him to more and more new fans as it grows. He’s charismatic and funny enough that he really should be hosting a TV series or something. This guy can talk to anyone about anything and make it relatable and funny. If you need something fun, mostly lighthearted, clever and just plain enjoyable to listen to, give it a try.

I’ve been a big fan of Matt and JD since the starters and have really missed hearing Matt’s humor since he left. It’s a great podcast and I enjoy listening each week. Unfortunately they stray too far from the No Dunks cleaner comedy for me. Sometimes they start talking about odd sex behavior and dropping a few too many F bombs for my taste.

Though it was a great podcast, until today’s episode…after crying with laughter for the majority of the listen I now consider it a GOAT tier show.

Is This Good uses a simple device to fuel funny, topical conversations between Matt, the host, JD, the producer, and the guest. The companion pod, The Great Beyond, is also an enjoyable listen.

My favorite podcast going, Matt and JD always offer many larfs and Matt is an incredible host, perfectly balancing great conversation to answer whether or not a topic is in fact, good, but also digging into additional insight from his guest on their experiences or other topics. 10/10, highest recommendation. Plus plenty of PSSF.
