I never miss an episode. I feel confident this is the best podcast for eagles content, although I’d love to see them spread the love across the 4 teams a little more. The mailbag is a fantastic 30 minute segment… I would prefer if it didn’t continue to become a full hour segment. It sometimes feels like there’s more mailbag than Philly content now.

Thanks again for all the off season pods, Shiel. BTW the fact that Howie couldn’t get more for CJ shows how the league valued him. P.S. Great Phillies pods with Anthony. (And would your mom approve you calling Anthony “Tony Buns” etc? I think not.)

This is a great show. The host and his guests know what they're talking about. Stop with "cliffy two socks". I have to fast forward through those sections b/c it's boring and cringe. Everything is "fi-yer" with him Like, just limit his on air time to a minute or two.

Sheil is a great host although I don’t like to hear my hosts say they’re not fans. EJ is a knowledgeable addition, although he finds every player, transaction, and hire to be ‘interesting’. Shawn is tremendous. I skip the Cliff sections entirely.

It’s a fun podcast with a great discussion for the Philly fan diehards, but EJ has to stop with the “you know” fillers. It’s so distracting

Big fan of the show and everyone who contributes. Sheil, Cliff, EJ, Shawn, BLG, and all the guests/production help are fantastic. One question: occasionally Sheil will mention he isn’t a fan, but it feels like he used to be at one point? Did something change that or is it purely for objective journalism? It feels as though Shawn started out showing his enthusiasm for the teams overall success but later on took the same road.

Thanks guys, alway get excited for a new podcast. Thanks for keeping it clean so I can listen w my 7 and 4 year old. Would love a revisit of Post Tampa Bay Hurts Tape. Was he injured. Knew D was so bad and pumped brakes. No AJ and knew - seems like a game last year I’ll next understand.

It’s insane how much the show has improved without Solak. It was absolutely brutal to bring him back for the superbowl & have to listen to a 20 minute segment about the tush push not being effective vs KC & following up that nonsense with there’s 16-20 QBs he’d take over Hurts. Give me a break and read the room.

Shiel, ACE! Producer Cliffy 2, and friends are my favorite Philly sports podcast. Mainly Eagles coverage, who could blame them with this run. Great balance of objective analysis, backing up info with analytics, homerism/negadelphian, film coverage, and pleasant nonsense

A must listen for any Philadelphia Eagles fan and/or individual who needs life advice like, “Do I unplug my loved one’s ventilator to power the TV for the Super Bowl?” GO BIRDS!

I am so grateful for this podcast. Has been my steady companion through this amazing season, and I’ve learned so much. Also I feel extremely certain Sheil and I would have been great friends in high school. Is that true? In Sean’s words, “That’s not for me to say.”

You know it’s bad when it’s the week of the Super Bowl and I’m unsubscribing from an eagles podcast… man sheil thinks he’s some interesting comedian or something he forgets he’s like 60, dude thinks mispronouncing New Orleans 20x an episode is funny, Cliff seems to think he’s hot stuff like some d list celeb or something, I know he smells crazy with all them socks on when he 3 hundo pounds, cliff feels the need to say he’s single with no kids like brother we know.

I have spent more time with Sheil’s voice than my own thoughts this week.

Best Eagles pod out there. No one does it better than Sheil.

I Love most of the ringer podcasts. But The Philly Spdcial pod is by far the best. Very in depth sports talk. Especially when talking about the Birds. Great main cast and loads of fantastic regular guests. And is way more informative than most other sports podcasts.

Question for you guys - how aggressive do you think the eagles are in terms of holding back winning plays during the regular season and early playoffs to gain a strategic advantage late in the playoffs and the SuperBowl? On one hand, that seems insane to not use your best played week-in week-out, but on the other hand if you can win without them (like 2017, 2024) then that seems like a great way to bring home a Lombardy. My take for your reaction - easily identifiable plays like the Philly Special of the Goedert jet sweep get held back, and I would suggest Howie plays a role in that since it seems that it’s happened now with two different coaches - Pederson & Siriani. Great analysis with Sheils likable affect

I’ve been a big fan of Sheil since his Moving the Chains days. Always insightful and entertaining. Great supporting cast of BLG, Shawn, EJ and Cliff. Effective episode sequencing from review of the previous game transitioning to previewing the next game. I hope this team of knowledgeable and entertaining content creators can stay together for years to come!

Show has really gone down hill since Solak left. I don’t care about strangers public bathroom habits or dating dilemmas. When you allow that stuff to make air every idiot out there fancies himself a wordsmith and story teller. I guarantee most of these “situations” are completely made up or over exaggerated. If you are going to bring someone on to review games, please bring someone on that has a better understanding of the game

Great eagles pod. EJ and Sean are great guests. Cliff provides great cameos. This is a 5 star eagles pod. But its net star rating is 4. I usually don’t rate the podcast by its net rating. But I gotta stay consistent with my man Sheil and for some reason resort to net quantity out of no where to fuel my agenda.

Great Eagles pod...tbh my second favorite behind Eagle Eye...doesn't mean I don't consume every episode. Very thankful for the boys. I also wear two socks often...only when it gets cold though or when hooping.

I was a faithful BGN listener for years. As a service tech spending 20+ hours a week behind the wheel, l truly enjoyed the longer format most episodes have. Fast forward to right before the 2024 draft and all of the sudden.. crickets. I felt lost! How was I, a working class Eagles fan from New Mexico, going to stay up on the draft, the off season, preseason. In comes The Ringer’s Philly Special podcast, a God-send possibly? Certainly got me right back up to speed on Howie’s master class in the draft, and has given me tools and knowledge to effectively ward off all the preseason, and now postseason trash talk coming from the ungodly amount of Dallas and Washington fans in this beautiful state. Title says it, sometimes I want just the meat of the Eagles content and I have to scroll around guess when the pod gets back to the Eagles. I’m not tryna be Scrooge, and sometimes I enjoy those segments. But it would be clearer to separate it imo. Big fan, thanks for reading.

Why no video option for the pod?

I truly miss Solak, but the current flow of the show is amazing. The rotation of EJ, BLG, and Shawn is perfect. Each brings their own flavor and insider knowledge. Everyone is so personable, effective at communicating, and insightful. You have all struck the perfect balance of facts, honest opinion, and prognostications. Sheil and Cliffy Two Socks, keep the excellence flowing. We all love every minute! P.S. I am so torn with Hurts. My buddies and I regularly discuss what the Eagles will do with his next contract. I am curious what you all think. Can the grass actually be greener? Is asking for a QB who reads defenses more quickly, doesn’t hold onto the ball forever, and can throw receivers open too tall of an ask?

Really love the way this show has evolved over the last few years, adding in new voices that can have different opinions on the Eagles, Phillies & Sixers without devolving into the hosts shouting at each other. What’s become even more fun has been the weird anecdotes that come out naturally, whether its jeans vs chinos, unexpected bathroom etiquette, or the correct number of socks to wear (the answer will shock you!). Keep up guys!

I’m going to be very blunt in this review. First the good.. •I follow Sheil Kapadia wherever he goes. Easily one of the best NFL reporters in my lifetime. So I am approaching this as someone who is an established fan of his work. My predisposition for anything he is associated with is to be overwhelmingly positive. •EJ is on point. Having him on the podcast is a home run. Seriously. He’s great. •In the time he is allotted to join the conversation, “Ace Producer” Cliff is also fantastic. In the limited time he’s on, it is very evident he has a bright future. Now the flip-side.. Let me just make something clear before I dive into this. Ben was incredible. Elite of the elite. Both in his football insight and his personality/entertainment factor. Seeing him leave sucked. But its part of the business. And I completely understand its hard to replace someone that good regardless of whether its media, sports, medicine, sales, or any other field. Having said that, replacing him with Shawn has been brutal.. •It constantly feels like he’s trying to do an impression of Ben… while being nowhere near as talented or witty •As a result, his banter ends up feeling fake, forced, and contrived. So much so that it ends up being uncomfortably cringe •His analysis is so dull I come away learning absolutely nothing more than I did when I watched the TV copy •He constantly hedges statements when asked pointed questions. He does so despite the **only** reason for the podcast in the first place is to be specific/detailed about what we’re watching. Give sincere opinions even if doing so may hurt the player’s and/or fan’s feelings. For example, in the most recent film analysis episode, Sheil asked him a specific question breaking down blame among Kellen Moore/Nick Sirianni/Jalen Hurts with all 3 as possible answers. What does Shawn do? Rather than actually picking one, he gave the politically correct answer of gently and delicately laying equal blame while not getting specific at all. Its such a cheap lame vanilla way to answer a question. Or to put that another way.. Its the complete antithesis of what was so good about Ben. If I wanted that sort of pointless disingenuous pandering drivel, I’d go watch Dave Spadaro. Just to reiterate, I’m not trying to be unnecessarily mean. I approach this wanting to enjoy it. But the episodes on which he appears are not coming anywhere close to being good enough for me to choose to spend 60-90 minutes of my time consuming.

Love the pod and I’ve been locked in since its inception and will continue to because it’s by far the best Philly sports pod however I got to say the tone about the Phillies losing in the playoff collapsing essentially the SAME way as last year having no plate discipline and not crushing them the way the eagles get crushed (fairly I know) every week was crazy to hear……again love the pod but we gotta be fair

Great for processing the trauma of Philly fandom. But Sheil, come on, political canvassers are volunteers trying to positively impact their communities, don't throw us under the bus, we are not predatory traveling salesmen. The canvasser you described saw you were busy and didnt bother you--not her first rodeo clearly. We get people dont want to open the door every time but you know a lot of times people love to talk about the issues at the door. I know there are other Eagles fans volunteering during election season, so think of us next time.

Enough of Cliffs thoughts

I can tolerate one edge Charlies, but corner men must be stopped at all costs. We need new pan technology to eliminate corners once and for all. Love the pod, love the nonsense, thanks to all

This sealed it for me. Am a weekly listener but when Ben went absolutely berserk on the entire profession of rules analysts in the NYG postgame pod and then discusses his desire to avoid conflict at all cost in the same episode in then I’m locked in. I love football but if we need someone to explain the rules to Tony Romo then what chance do I have to get through to my 5 year old daughter. Keep bringing it! Great show!
