Thought this would be a good podcast but hence here we are bashing the democrats again and ignoring the problem. Just old and stale posting that makes the feel better about themselves living in the suburban neighborhoods. Making them sound like the coastal elite that they loathe themselves. The irony.

I typically like the perspective of this show but I really don't understand all the time you've spent sneering over the ceo killer guy. Surely there are topics that more directly affect working people's lives.

I thought Edgelord like Matt and his moll were for free speech but I guess that only applies to publishing Hunter’s laptop.

It’s disappointing to see many left-of-center journalists not just pivot right, but entirely tow the MAGA line. I think we have to look at the Democratic Party and ask how a guy like Taibbi, whose work I have enjoyed over the years, is now indistinguishable from Rush Limbaugh. How does this happen and why? We may be witnessing the end of everything this country was founded upon, with guys like Taibbi leading the charge. And the only journalism we may have left will be pro-Republican propaganda. I hope one day he comes back around, but it almost never happens.

Kirn: go through whitneys sources and dispute them. She said something about trump resirecting who money to gates foundation. Find out that shes wrong and u win! Do journalism. Instead: "prople like whitney think everybodys bad. Even trump. Trump not that bad." Journalist!? Lol

People I like like Matt Taibbi so came to check him out. But he doesn’t talk about Palestine because it’s too complicated? A colony that has been committing ethnic cleansing to create an ethnostate is really as simple as it gets. If he can’t understand this how could I trust that he has a brain or an ounce of integrity and want to hear more of his thoughts? Be serious dude.

Y’all are doing a great service. I am not on any social media, I watch a couple of trusted news networks and listen to podcasts. Yours is awesome!

Media from a non-partisan angle. Listening to this podcast reminds me how bitter, reactive and partisan cable news is. Matt is a real reporter. I appreciate his work a great deal in 2024 after all the media fraud of the last 10+ years.

Such a great way to look at media and American values of free speech. So appreciate how they offer their clear perspective. But dudes, you have got to bring the paid version here or make it easier to listen as a paid subscriber. I’m pretty sure my husband is going to get into a car accident trying to listen, pause, etc while driving. Please!

Listening to your review and laughing out loud as I applied make up – yes, even to my nose – I start thinking how Woody Allen must have been familiar with the story. Imagine my self satisfaction when you soon brought him up. I am an repentant fan of Sleeper and Love and Death. Cloning the Great Leader’s Nose! The giant vegetable field! The early films are just as funny to me in my 70’s as they were to me in my earl 20’s. I learned a lot about the music of Prokofiev ( and many other composers). How on earth would I have ever heard of Alexander Nevsky otherwise? Or choked with laughter at ludicrous chase scenes accompanied by Preservation Hall Jazz Band? Kudos on the podcast; it’s brilliant to end with the short story segment.

I can only have so many subs in my life tho. But the first 30 minutes is always great !

Real news.

Could someone he believes in tell Matt to lose the vocal fry? It’s been getting out of hand, makes him sound like he’s faking it. Maybe that explains why on this episode I got the impression he was merely repeating points he’d read in a Post op ed or somewhere. Something has affected his originality. Affected his confidence? And now the vocal fry is so constant it distracts from listening to him. Thanks for reading.

On the last episode these guys talked about how a former President should never be able to be indicted and so dramatic that they thought they would never see this in their lifetimes and so sad the constitution and on and on. A few things here, you guys don’t even know what the 30+ charges are yet. nothing about this former President is normal and he’s broken a lot of norms himself, so why not another one? He is NOT president anymore, and therefore has no protections and is no longer above the law. He should and needs to be treated like everyone else. Why don’t you wait until you hear all the charges and all the evidence is brought and see him only through the lens that he is a regular person just like the rest of us, and then go into your histrionics once you have all the facts. Come on guys! Especially Matt being the decorated journalist that you are, you are both so above all this.

Walter Kirk has a great voice for podcasting and news. Well done before the committee yesterday Matt. Goldman’s and others questions were obviously posed to evoke unguarded emotional responses. You guys are tough cookies.

Matt Taibbi is an excellent reporter with lots of little wild experience. This is one of the best real news hard news podcast on the Internet. He’s fair and honest, and had enough courage to actually live in the places he reported on.
