During the pandemic, I got into collecting physical media again, so I began looking for podcasts about the hobby. This is the best of the bunch. Ryan's interviews with physical media label programmers enhance my appreciation for the skill, hard work, and passion that goes into making great releases. His weekly ReConnected live shows give me the scoop on everything new coming out and make me feel like I'm part of a community. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED! At a glance this seemed like a podcast made for me. I’m an avid collector of boutique Blu rays and such. I’d love to hear about upcoming releases, but wow. I do t have this amount of time to devote to a single podcast. Plus, I dropped out after several minutes of introductions of the people joining online. I just want to hear the news and reviews. I’m sorry, but I don’t care who else is listening that I don’t know. And there’s no time codes listed so I can skip the self congratulatory segment. Maybe a digest version of the show? Just the news and reviews and such?

Hands down this podcast should be essential listening for all physical media collectors. Equal parts entertaining and informative. Following along week to week will keep you up to speed on all the new announcements and help with planning what discs you may want to pick up. Ryan is an excellent host with great delivery and generally manages to bring the best out of his guests each episode.

As a physical media collector I’m always looking for new shows that celebrate it. This show is a great source of information about all things physical media.

As the title states, this is easily one of the best physical media shows around. Tons of great news on the world of discs, great guests, and a overall welcoming community. If you’re able to catch the show live on YouTube, you’ll get to interact with the host, guests and viewers. It’s all-around great stuff. Give it a listen.

If you love physical media (Blu-Ray, DVD, etc.), this podcast is a must-listen. Informative and entertaining in equal measure.

I stumbled across Ryan and his show via Master Chaos TV, and I’m really glad I did. Extremely informative on upcoming releases, news in the boutique world, as well as interviews with industry movers. What I really enjoy is the down to earth, chill vibe the show has. No bashing on films, and also not inaccessible to casual fans. Has plenty on content to keep me entertained on my long drives to work and back. The host Ryan has a great voice and delivery as well, which also makes for a great listening experience.

The Disc-Connected is without question one of the hardest working people in the DVD/Blu-ray collecting community. Whether you’re new to collecting, or a veteran since the laserdisc days, this podcast is a must subscribe to for any collector. The podcast has extraordinary weekly coverage of boutique releases. He also hosts fantastic interviews with other podcasters, members of the collecting community, as well as authors, and owners of boutique Blu-ray labels. If you only download one movie collecting podcast, The Disc-Connected should be that podcast!

A great show for casual and avid physical media collectors. Not only is there lots of information on upcoming releases, there’s also great discussions about film with amazing guests. Easily my favorite show and YouTube channel dedicated to this topic.
