This might be heresy, but honestly, I probably like this podcast more than I like Muppets. And now I'm at this weird point where I haven’t even seen a whole lot of Muppet content, but I know all these facts about the Muppets. 🤷🏻‍♀️

I really wanted to like this podcast after seeing so many great reviews. I am a huge Jim Henson fan and I’m always looking for material about the Muppets. To be fair I only listen to about 20 minutes of one episode but that was all I could stand. I tuned into hear a discussion about the Muppet Christmas Carol, but instead what I heard was talk about snowman sex and a stream of vulgarity. I know the show is rated E for explicit and I have no problem with profanity used in jest or within an intelligent conversation but the show is anything but intelligent. It’s toilet bowl humor of the worst kind. If you want learn about Jim Henson and the Muppets, I recommend checking out any of the various books or YouTube channels that actually dive into the history.

I honestly had no clue what to expect going into this podcast, besides “Sam Schultz” and “Muppets” - which was more than enough to get me started on listening. I was worried I wouldn’t actually get very much of the podcast as a person who has limited Muppet experience, but I have found this podcast to be absolutely hilarious and I’ve been devouring my way through the back catalogue and loving every minute of it.

Controlled chaos at its finest This is one of my new favorite podcasts The rapport between co hosts is both hilarious and wholesome. I just can’t get enough of this show and the love y'all have for the Muppets and Rowlf especially Since he’s my personal favorite Muppet too Plus tbh seeing y’all losing it over Muppet Babies is so funny. I can’t wait for more.

I adore the Muppets, and I love listening to these guys talking about them! Matt and Sam are smart, thoughtful, and fun, and the podcast is quirky and simply delightful! I love to listen while I paint with watercolors or go on walks.

I came into the world the same month and year as The Muppet Show, and to say that Henson was a formative part of my life would be a drastic understatement. Sesame Street taught me how to read, The Muppet Show introduced me to essential culture from the 1940s-70s, and Fraggle Rock basically calibrated my entire moral compass. So when I heard there was a podcast hosted by kids who had watched Muppet Babies on *cable,* I have to admit to some typical Gen X skepticism/fear (my morpet would be Wembler). What an incredible relief and delight, then, to discover that Matthew and Sam hold the same love, reverence, and occasional good-spirited confusion that I’ve always felt for the Hensonverse. I sat down to write this after fully catching up on every episode*, so I feel 100% qualified to recommend this entire podcast to any Muppets fan, but especially those who appreciate a sweet, silly, and sometimes uncomfortably sexy 🐽 journey through this epic body of work. And if y’all ever need An Old to reflect on what it was like to ACTUALLY be eating Mr. T cereal on a Saturday morning while flipping on Muppet Babies at its network broadcast time, give me a call! [*and then I guess Apple Podcasts freaked out and didn’t save the whole thing]

Sam and Matthew are great co-hosts - I also really appreciate that it discusses all kinds of Muppet/Henson content, not just the movies and TV show!

Recently found this show and I’m hooked. Love listening to these guys as the listen to every Muppets project available.

A great podcast to listen to!

I have always been a huge fan of anything Henson from a young age. I found Kermitment after the birth of my daughter two years ago, and quickly went through the episodes that were banked up prior to my discovery. It has been so rewarding to go back to watch classic muppet/Sesame Street with my kids and then tuning in to Sam and Matt’s reviews. I love the monthly Patreon and thank you guys for cracking me up. I can’t forget the time Sam mentioned how uncomfortable Frank Oz gets when being interviewed, and his twitch of itching his armpit looks like he is reaching for a revolver. Looking forward to more spreadsheets and struggling to sit through OG muppet babies with you guys. Keep believing, keep pretending.

Kermitment is delightful; often a bright spot of comfort on an otherwise gloomy day. Who knew I’d be laughing and learning this much?! It’s clear that Kermitment is a labor of love, and listeners are sure to grow to love both Matt and Sam and the muppets they chat about.

I feel like I’m sitting in a living room with Sam & Matthew just chatting about the muppets. I’ve been listening since it started & really love the content. I’ve learned a lot and it just makes me so happy!

Being a huge Muppet fan, this is a great podcast to get caught up on the history of the characters & the shows & movies of the Muppets ,.. all the way from their creation to the present. With in-depth history on both the different Muppet characters when they were created, who originally performed them, who went on to perform them later , and who presently performed them, as well as with the history of the creative forces behind the Muppets and ALL the different special appearances & programs & commercials that they appeared in.

I’m a minor muppet fan, I enjoy watching muppet content but never learned much about the history of the muppets or stayed up to date on news. I stumbled upon this podcast and I was hooked! I finally caught up on every episode and while I haven’t watched most of what Matt and Sam are talking about, I’ve thoroughly enjoyed every episode. They have great chemistry and describe what they are watching with enough detail that you understand what’s going on. Highly recommend for even the casual muppet fan!

I work from home, and this podcast is such a fun companion!

The hosts have a good chemistry and discussing past Muppet media is surprisingly compelling. I always liked the muppets but have never been a super fan so wasn’t sure about bothering to try this one but now I find myself drawn to each new episode despit their length.

This podcast is truly a joy to listen to! Matthew and Sam bring a fun perspective and listening feels like you’re sitting around having coffee and chatting about the muppets. Thanks for making my work days more enjoyable and keep up the great work!

Despite the fact that the muppets don’t do it for me and this entire podcast should be unbearable I keep coming back. The relationship between Sam and Matt is so good and funny and despite them repeatedly saying that they’re not going into that much detail with every single episode, they cover so much context that I never feel like I’m missing something. I will listen to anything Matthew Gaydos does with his time.

Love the pod (coming from sci show tangents). I didn’t realize Katherine was in the jug band one until I started listening and I squealed so loud. She is the funniest person alive.

I am a muppet freak, have been since the first grade, I have seen a lot of this stuff before. But hearing these to casual muppet fan going through and discovering all the great muppet madness of the day is a delight. Also ROBIN FOREVER

This podcast does an incredible job of diving into the specifics around The Muppets without ever being boring or dull. I love learning more about the history, but Matt and Sam’s particular care and passion for the art that Henson and crew do is what really keeps me listening. I definitely recommend giving it a listen if you’ve ever even slightly enjoyed something Muppet related. It’ll give you a whole new understanding of all that goes into something that seems as simple as puppets!

I have loved this so far! I am learning that I know very little about the Muppets before Sesame Street. Love the character “biographies.”
