The Cultivate Podcast is all about deepening our understanding of Scripture for a deeper love of Jesus. That’s my simple hope. Yet we live in a crazy busy culture that makes it hard to prioritize Bible study. Not to mention, for many of us the Bible can be plain confusing or intimidating. That’s why I’m so excited about this podcast! We’ll get to study God’s Word together.

Absolutely nothing has gone after every crevice of my heart like Scripture. It’s the most relevant and alive book on earth and I can’t wait for God to meet you exactly where you’re at as we open the Bible together. I also happen to love cooking, gardening, having people over, and deep relationships. So I’ll always do my best to keep it real, practical, and personal. Whether you’re brand new to the Bible or a seasoned student of Scripture, I hope you’ll join me on this hopeful journey.

About Kelly Minter

Hi There. My name is Kelly Minter and I’m a Bible study author and teacher. I’ve written several Bible studies for Lifeway, including Finding God Faithful, All Things New, No Other Gods, Ruth, and a few others. I love to teach the Bible at my Cultivate Events across the country and also locally at my home church. I have a passion for missions, which is why I also work in the Amazon jungles of Brazil and the Eastern European country of Moldova with Justice & Mercy International. I wrote a book about my work in the Amazon called Wherever The River Runs. It’s dear to my heart. I also love cooking, gardening, and having people to my house. It turns out, I pretty much wanted to write about that too, so a cookbook called A Place at the Table was born. Mostly, I love engaging with people as we study God’s Word together, which is why I’m especially excited about the Cultivate Podcast.

Clarification

Charles Spurgeon died in 1892 not 1915 as was mentioned in Jan 3 episode. Also as much as I appreciate Kelly and her insights into God’s word, one must be careful to not add our own thoughts or add to Scripture what isn’t there. Kelly says Mary stayed at the house while Martha ran to meet Jesus when he came back after Lazarus dies. Kelly says she thinks Mary stayed behind because she was hurt or disappointed that Jesus hadn’t done something - we don’t know - there are many reasons as to why she may have stayed back and the Bible doesn’t tell us. she knew and learned at Jesus feet and seemed to know Jesus well. But Kelly really pushed her opinion on why Mary stayed behind and we need to be careful when teaching scripture to not let our “thoughts and opinions/beliefs” about what we think add more to what has been revealed. Again not trying to be critical but just wanted to voice my concern.

So encouraging and convicting!

I have been listening to Cultivate for about 8 months now. I love how knowledge-filled, convicting, and encouraging it is! I have shared it with multiple friends who have all loved it. It is such a great alternative to a secular podcast or an audiobook. I have done one of Kelly’s Bible studies (on 1-3 John); she blows me away with her ability to interpret and apply Scripture… helping the reader/listener do so as well. This podcast is definitely one of my favorites… up there with Bible Binge and Allie Beth Stuckey.

Great bible insight and application

Kelly gives great insight into scripture and how we can use or cultivate (hence the name of the podcast) scripture into our daily lives. I enjoyed how she began the podcast by sharing her favorite portions on scripture and how they impacted her life, and how she then moves on to different themes or books in the Bible in further episodes. I really enjoyed her episodes about Jesus and her insights there, but the Nehemiah episodes about how God rebuilds are my favorite episodes so far.

I listen to the Cultivate podcast regularly. The Lord has used Kelly’s teaching to refresh my heart, give me wisdom and discernment, and draw me closer to Him. Kelly is engaging and authentic - she draws from her own life experiences but also shines a light on beautiful ministry work in the Amazon. I especially loved the episode on Colossians. Just listened to Episode 45 on prayer from The Sermon on the Mount. So good. Kelly always encourages me in the simplistic way that she breaks things down. The best podcast I’ve ever listened to

While I sit down with the Lord every morning and dive into His word and prayer, I am so especially thankful for Tuesday mornings when I also get to sit down with Kelly and hear the Holy Spirit speak through her. She has such an amazing gift from Him for teaching, and I have learned things that are so important; my eyes have been opened wider, my knowledge of scripture has been strengthened, and the Lord has moved in my heart in big ways as I begin to understand what He is trying to teach us. Kelly is so sweet and easy to listen to; I feel like I’m listening to a good friend over a breakfast meal. So thankful for this podcast and I would recommend it to anyone who is wanting to grow in scriptural knowledge and in their walk with the Lord! We need this!

Favorite Podcast

I am beyond grateful for this podcast. I NEEDED this. Kelly has an incredible gift of concisely teaching God‘s Word in such a n honest, refreshing & easy to follow way. I’ve attempted to listen to many “popular” Christian podcasts, but so many of them are self-focused, promotional, noisy, and often superficial. Too much hype around ”people”, not enough Jesus. Kelly’s podcast is a breath of fresh air. It’s all about Jesus. We all need more of the Word of God in our lives, and Kelly is bringing it beautifully. I love her overall tone. She speaks with humility, with massive amounts of wisdom and doctrinally sound teaching to the table. I’ve been so blessed by the hard work and preparation she has put into these episodes. Marvelous!

This podcast is absolutely marvelous because I literally marvel at how in tune Kelly is with God’s message and wisdom in how she presents and understands God’s word. Her eyes and heart have been opened by God himself and she is able to see & understand the secrets of God’s word, the hidden message beyond just the text, the “bread within the bread” so to speak. I get so much out of this and feel like God is literally using her as a microphone the entire podcast. Love it!

Tuesday = best day of the week

I have never looked more forward to any kind of weekly content in my life than when new episodes of Cultivate air on Tuesdays. Kelly brings God’s word to life, which challenges me, but also allows me to hear God’s voice speaking through the Bible. Even when I think “oh that episode won’t “apply” to me right now”….God, through Kelly, reminds me that his word doesn’t return to him empty and her bible teaching always reaches my stubborn heart. Thank you Kelly for being so faithful to teach his word!

Kelly starts with scripture and explains with her academic expertise and gift of teaching to help bring new things to light for even the most seasoned church goer. I am so happy I have run into this podcast. The Holy Spirit has used it several times to nudge me back on course and live out my identity in Christ.
