HddbdhdbjdbfdbdhfCaptivatingThis podcast was amazing. I could hardly stop listening to the episodes to do every day things like make dinner. 🤣 I love the way. The writers put this together, incorporating their own opinions, interviews, and facts from the case. I also loved Attorney Panell and her ability to rattle Tony. She was brilliant.

Crime addictExceptional, deep, direct sincere slow roll out.I’m completely spell bound. I enjoy replaying episodes to further increase thoughts or ideas. Best show of the year

MikeNYC11211Brilliantly Respectful and DevastatingI found this podcast to be so sensitive and respectful to the victims of this tragedy and the communities in CT and FL. May this family rest in peace.

TracyMcclSo many more questionsThe podcasters did a tremendous job and telling the story but the trial was a joke and I have numerous questions that were never answered or even addressed. Like why did he stay in the house? If they weren’t allowed to use the financial crimes as a motive, then what was the motive? Why did Meghan say end of the world to Tony’s sisters? I was stunned the prosecution rested after three days. I couldn’t believe the defense didn’t have anything to put forward immediately and relied on Tony to tell the story. I want a retrial, not because I think Tony is innocent. It’s because we cannot condone this type of criminal justice any longer. The judge, the jury, didn’t hear about the awful man he was. Everything about this upsets me but the podcasts is worth while.

DesertbieneMajaA thorough investigation of a family annihilationBalanced and thorough accounting of various facets surrounding an unthinkable event like this family annihilation. Not exploitative, yet fascinating.

talyingirlDon’t miss.Incredibly compelling and well done.

yallwannatry? The most tedious murder podcast I have ever listened toI kept listening because I thought it might pick up, but it never did. The story could have been interesting, but the writers seems to be trying to drag it out as long as possible. I was so annoyed by this endless boring podcast that I never even bothered with the last episode or two. The story is also wildly incomplete - there are gaping holes in the story, neglected important areas, unexplored angles. It’s exasperating. Feels like someone threatened to sue and they had to take out all of the good stuff, but released the podcast anyway, and it doesn’t work.

aimclsteThorough, balanced, & grippingAs a newspaper journalist myself, I’m in awe of this production. Such great foresight by Taylor to know this story deserves more than just printed words. And Sten carried it to the finish line so poignantly.
-
XoxosunnygirlGreat PodcastLately I have been listening to podcast where the entire story is tols in one episode because podcaster just stretch out. ‘Season’….that’s not the case for this story. The podcasters did a fantastic job of delivering the content and not trying to get more episodes out. It’s a very sad story, but I believe justice was served.

ShackerRiveting is putting it mildly. The reporters over at The Day are incredibly talented storytellers. This was a horrific crime but this podcast went out of its way to be fair to both perpetrator and the victims. Taylor (from season 1) and Sten put their souls into this podcast and the effort shows. Well done to the entire podcast team - I look forward to your next one (but hopefully it’ll be about something far less benign than this).

Emmaleigh.504Overwrought: do not recommendThese journalists sound very naive. It doesn’t sound like they’ve ever reported on a murder before. I’m wondering if they’ve ever watched/listened to any true crime. The cause of death is very clear, but they are confused by it. They also talk about themselves and how they feel way too much. I think the chick has an ulcer or stomach cancer because she keeps talking about how upset her stomach is. The guy just sounds dumb. Maybe he has a brain tumor or had a stroke. Lastly, the way they milk Zoe’s age and death is pretty gross. Grosser than any talk of body decomposition, which apparently the audience can’t handle.

karamarieeGood information, slow pacingVery good but get ready to use the slider… I’m all for deep dives but this is a very very slow deep dive.
-
Daphne CristinaExcellentI had never heard of this case. Could not stop listening. Great podcast.
-
sadean13Outstanding- great voices & excellent presentation of an unthinkable crimeSten & Taylor did a wonderful job with this tragic, heartbreaking story. Both know how to tell a story (rather than read a script) and have easy, pleasant voices to listen to - a must for a standout podcast. Although Taylor has moved on to another newspaper, I hope Sten considers doing another local crime story podcast.
-
AMCC415Informative, based in factsSten does an excellent job laying out the rafts in a non-biased manner. While a heartbreaking story, I appreciate the way the podcast told this story.

CB098765555Todt Family season 2Long awaited episode. There are so many unanswered questions, especially if there was any involvement in the murders by Megan. Tony’s hospital interrogation (found in YT) & his first police interview point to her participation. Megan’s journals, Megan’s phone records (Tony’s phone records), internet searches by both regarding the apocalypse, Megan aunt’s statements as to when she actually last spoke with her by phone, the ”note”, the letter to Tony’s father - all these items along with relative statements could include or exclude Megan. Although many of these mentioned items were taken into evidence that would either clear her or put some of the culpability onto her, these items were not presented during the trial. Megan’s aunt was not called to testify although she was probably the last person, other than Tony to actually speak with her.!? I realize that Tony was the one on trial here (not Megan) and he definitely was guilty, yet there are so many items that point to Megan also. Hoping that you get to all of these unanswered questions in your upcoming podcasts. I appreciate the depth of coverage that you have presented with this case.

Dorei JewlAmazing job of coverage !They did their best to remain neutral, and covered all facts of the murders. Excellent sound quality . Excellent research . Excellent dictation. Overall , excellent ! I look forward to the episode covering the trial .

leslie_willExploitive, Biased, and Wanna-Be JournalistsExploitive in the presentation and the way the hosts went about their attempts to obtain information. Hosts drag out this pod; could have been done in half the episodes. It's more than obvious they think Tony is guilty and totally disregard the blatant evidence that points to his wife at least having knowledge of the plan if not being an active participant. They feign to be unbiased by stating the proper disclaimers, but it's clearly a facade. I hope Todt realizes they only want to use him for their own benefit and doesn't give them a post trial interview.

ambre12-7Okay podcast, but weird format…Sounds like two people telling a third person about their memories of this story interspersed with law enforcement and interview audio rather than a professionally scripted and narrated investigative podcast. One thing that truly bothered me: Sten’s comments about the reporter asking Tony about Breezy being “trivial” were off base…it’s horrific and sociopathic to drug four people into unconsciousness to kill them, and equally horrific and sociopathic (if not more so) to stab a small very conscious, very defenseless family dog multiple times…so yeah, Sten, NOT trivial. Thanks for bringing this story to light, but after that ignorant and super insensitive comment, I don’t think I even want to finish listening to this…wish Taylor had done the podcast solo.

TcmagnaA true crime gemI’m really enjoying this podcast and the amount of reporting that went in to create it. The story was one I was familiar with already, but this deep dive is really interesting. It made me furious at times, very sad, but it is fascinating. Take a chance on this!

hairpattiLooking for the tidy familyStumbled on this podcast and binge on it in a day.5 stars from me.
-
thatgirlduhReal journalismA podcast and sadly a horrible story done the right way. Fair unbiased laying out all the facts letting everybody make their own opinion. These guys are the real deal. The picture of integrity. I look forward to hearing more information on this case as well as others that you choose to cover in the future.
-
SarahLN23CompellingI am impressed with how the narrators manage the sensitive material as well as the effort and research that they’ve put into the podcast. With such limited information available at this time, it would be easy to put a lot of filler or nonsensical material; however, every episode provides important details and context that paint a complete picture of the case…at least as complete as it can be with an impending trial. The information that you might think is filler actually add important details that I found necessary to grasp the gravity of what this family was going through. I am looking forward to Taylor and Sten’s continued coverage of this horrific crime.
-
Elsa002This podcast is… not goodThere is so much filler in this show, you’ll get frustrated halfway through the first episode. The storytelling was not effective, the opinions on cops and journalists were tone deaf, and the way they ordered the of telling of events made the podcast totally uninteresting. Also, if you’re sensitive to mouth noises, this is not for you!
-
Teon77This podcast is very well done.Good reporting and podcasting. A must listen
-
LilHint14AMAZING PODCASTThis should be on the top of the charts under the True Crime Podcasts. I’m thankful I came across it… Incredibly intriguing and I’m just going on episode eight.
-
Cry2stalBravoTasteful and surprisingly open minded considering how strongly opinionated one might be on this diabolical narcissist father
-
NancyCalUnnecessary reportingFirst 6 episodes could be scratched, get to the whodunnit and why faster.
-
Large angry manToo repetitiveThis would have been a great three episode podcast. So much repeated information. So many interviews where they said the same thing over and over. We are told about his mother's attack in detail. Then two episodes later they do extensive recap. Note: if you are on a later episode, your listeners have probably listened to the previous ones! No need to rehash everything unless you are trying to make a three episode into a Tenn episode. You can make It twelve if you add listener questions-- wait. They did that too. The episodes with the letter (part one and two) are perfect examples. )They LITERALLY read the letter word for word- but stop every minute or so to rephrase what they JUST READ! The letter is not in a foreign language nor is the letter complicated in any way! I get the feeling that these guys think their listeners are stupid.

Cashie2018Really good podcastI hope you have more podcast. I really thought this podcast was excellent.

-
gracie_432So well doneFantastic podcast, incredibly responsible reporting. So much respect for these journalists.

Jeff Miller1Episode 11, why?I thought this episode would answer some of my questions, too. Because sometimes people have the same questions you do. But this seemed more like an apology episode or even a diatribe about word usage. In a way you exploited a dark day for this family, so don’t go to another one, the funeral. Or in this case go to the funeral and then do a podcast telling us it was your job. Oh, ok got it.....
-
OkButtercupInteresting, but...The podcast would have been pretty good EXCEPT it included so much personal perspective from the reporters, they own thoughts and how they felt. Zero relevance to the story.
-
tjshaffHooked on this bizarre tale!Great Storytelling😎
-
Patty2347ThrillingSo well done, I had to listen to the whole thing in one sitting.
-
SavelezRepetitiveThe story is certainly interesting but could have easily been done in about 4 or 5 episodes with as much repetition as there is.
-
yosquiellyThe letterThis letter is so infuriating!!!
-
RobinKreeSo goodThis doesn’t have the exploitation feel that so many other true crime pods have. The hosts are empathetic and well spoken. The writing and interviews are very well done.
-
Local BluestockingLike father, like sonMy favorite Day podcast so far. Eliminating an episode or two would have helped with pace and meant less repetition. Well scripted but one reporter’s vocal fry was terribly grating.
-
Dame DainaA Fresh Approach to StorytellingThe research & storytelling are great! What a twisted story!!!
-
mollyfineHoly Announcement! My jaw DROPPED when I listened to the announcement! I can’t wait to see what happens!

Truecrime chickMy favorite podcast!Well done. Tons of information, phone calls, interviews
-
isp521Breezy MattersI just want to say...I don’t think it was ridiculous or trivial for that reporter to ask what about breezy.
-
1sheek1Let others speakHost inject themselves too much into the podcast.
-
