Karol FosterLove All Things PCPSI love this podcast and look forward to it each week. The number of times I’m reminded of a childhood/teen memory is overwhelming. Thanks to the ladies for sharing so many fun aspects of the 70s and 80s with all of us.
-
thatonztaknThis is fantastic!I was born in 1973, and I can relate to so much of this. Some things I don’t remember, but I still love hearing because I watched on reruns or heard my older cousins talk about. You’ve become my favorite podcast, and I feel like you’re my friends!

shlubdobadieThe best way to start your Mondays!I don’t know if I can do this without getting mushy. All of us in this generation are experiencing some pretty heavy things these days- aging parents, kids growing up in this dumpster fire of a cultural landscape, health issues of our own or our friends, partners, etc. Just listening to the news on my commute makes me anxious! Every Monday I choose joy. I choose remembering, reminiscing, and learning. I choose these three friends talking about things that I didn’t even realize I needed to know more about! I laugh and have other big feelings along with them, as we go on a journey back to our childhoods and teen years, and it is such a lovely escape. Thank you for this gift.

curiousqueakThe podcast I was searching forI’d been looking for a fun & entertaining podcast for a few years but nothing ever quite fit the bill. Until episode FM Dial 1983 was on my home page. Immediate listen, immediate follow, & I spent the last few months listening to every single episode. THIS PODCAST IS PURE JOY. Thank you!!!

semdougMy Lifetime FriendsI can’t even remember how I discovered this podcast! It’s like I found my lifetime friends, or maybe their older sister… Every episode takes me back in time and it’s so much fun.
-
SJU279Perfect for anyone who was a kid in the 70sI recently discovered this and I’m obsessed! As an elder gen x, I love that the hosts are too and I can relate to pretty much every topic. I’m currently binging my way through, laughing out loud every episode.

Alexis in MplsMy Big SistersI thought I couldn’t love 70s and 80s pop culture any more than I already did until this podcast came into my life. I quickly became a Patreon supporter. I am moved to tears to get such lovely things from them. They not only talk about the lost art of writing but are countering it by loving on their fans in this way. I was born in 1972 and listening to these three women talk about the past is like picking up the phone and listening in on a big sister and her friends talking about all the things I also love. Just wish I had gone to throw my hat up in the air with them when MTM died.

Deebree45In love with this PodcastLadies!!! I love your podcast! I started listening a year ago and couldn’t get enough, it has made driving for me a more pleasurable experience! I look forward every Monday to a new episode! I can’t tell you how many times I’ve cried, laughed out loud in my car by myself and talked to my family and friends about so many episodes that have been so relatable for me! My all time favs are “ Gen X School Lunch”, “The Sunny Days of Sesame Street”, “Schoolhouse Rock”, Saturday morning Fever” and “Free to Be You and Me” just to name a few. Please, please, please don’t ever stop making new episodes, no other podcast can even begin to compare. I may need some suggestions (guests you’ve had on your show) as I’ve listened to every single episode at least 5+ times, lol! 🩷🩷🩷

WCandmePCPS is the bombdiggity!Thank you PCPS! I am a 58 year old female truck driver who listens to your podcast regularly, and I LOVE it! Brings back a lot of memories growing up as a latchkey kid in the 70’s and 80’s. Every episode has me laughing and feeling nostalgic for my idyllic and feral childhood. Keep it up!

Ex-Pat in LondonM*A*S*H episodeI’m 61 years old and I have never watched an episode of M*A*S*H. You guys had me tearing up during this episode, I felt like I knew the cast. admittedly, I watched Match Game as a kid, so I kind of did know them, but you guys did a tremendous job on this one.

Eileen CranePCPSI learned about your podcast from my sister-in-law in late July. I started at the beginning and I am up to episode 104. I have learned a lot of things that I didn’t know. You are right that those experiences hit different now. My feelings about some of the movies, books, and music is different now that I am looking at them from an adult perspective. Things that I thought were okay then are definitely not okay now. I enjoy very much listening to the three of you. You are able to disagree with each other without getting mad. You have an easy camaraderie with each other and the respect you have for one another is obvious. Listening to you helps quiet my mind. I quite often smile while listening to you. Thank you for the time you put in on all of your research. Thank you for brightening my days. I was born, raised, and still live just down the road from you in Lake Okoboji, Iowa. I am 59 years young and have had a lot of the same experiences at the same ages as you. Your podcast has given me a feeling of belonging to a group of people that I have never met but have a connection with through shared experiences. Thank you for that. I hope that you are able to continue with your podcast for a long time. May the Force be with you!

AplusBPurple rainI’ve listened to a few Purple Rain movie review podcasts and your review of the movie is my favorite. Thank you. ❤️

sugggggarplum13Amazing trip down memory lane!My sister Patty went to Trinity University with Carolyn and introduced me to this podcast- we are both from Gen-X and so much of what is discussed on PCPS mirrors our experiences! Carolyn, Kristen and Michelle are a joy to listen to and their memories of childhood and adolescence are so accurate and specific. They remember so much and describe it so vividly! Best part of my day is listening to this podcast! Have shared with my fellow Gen X-ers ❤️
-
Speedy2774Love this podcastThis podcast is so enjoyable to listen to. I often listen while I’m out running and am occasionally laughing out loud while listening.
-
GenX TLove this podcast!!I love reliving my Gen X childhood and teenage memories with these ladies! Every episode makes me smile, laugh, and sometimes cry. I am in other Gen X groups on social media, but lately there has been so much negativity. Not on this podcast—so much positivity and good vibes here! I find myself saying “I remember that” or “Me too” so many times as I am riding in the car by myself. I look forward to every new episode! Keep on trucking’!
-
MsdianedThe BestI can’t say how much I love this podcast. I feel like I’m reliving my youth with my best friends right with me. Please don’t ever stop.
-
TrueCrimeTartareScreamingI love this show - I find myself screaming in my car when they say a name or share a moment that I totally forgot about and suddenly remember! I loved the Charlie’s Angels episode - great trivia you’ll share with the Gen-Xers in your life! Subscribed!

grace22rocksPure Joy in a PodcastIf you’re looking for a serotonin surge…look no further than the Pop Culture Preservation Society. Carolyn, Kristin and Michelle will have you laughing, tearing up a time or two and recalling memories you didn’t know you knew. Listen today! You won’t regret it.

Guyg860I’m Jim Henson’s Cartoonist and a fan!First, I love that your newsletter is called Weekly Reader, because I got my start with WR in 1976! I am absolutely loving the show! I’ve been listening to it at my studio here in Nashville and you are bringing back wonderful memories! I graduated high school in 1975… And started working for Jim, drawing and writing the Muppets comic strip for newspapers in 1981. I auditioned in 1980. Thanks for being such a light and I am really enjoying the camaraderie that you three have! Thanks again. Love and Light, Guy

LuvmayerBEST podcast EVER!!!!!Where do I begin!!! I had never listened to a podcast before in my life up until Nov 2023.. I’m a music buff and couldn’t imagine listening to “talk radio” on my way to anything!! Then I stumbled upon your podcast on the recommendation of my brother and I can’t imagine listening to anything else! It’s like riding in the car with my best friend on a road trip! Mm1332(Updated review) Wow, finally!I came back two years later, just to add: When I listen to this podcast, it doesn’t “remind of” the 70s, it actually IS the 70s. As in, I am THERE back in my childhood, but just the happy parts. This is the only podcast I listen to the moment it drops! This is my first-ever review of a podcast, and I have for several years been a loyal subscriber to a bunch of them. I’m loving this podcast SO much! Thoughtful, well/researched, clever, humorous and heartfelt. This show was made exactly for me: I’m your typical 48 year old who voraciously consumes almost exclusively nostalgia content. I binge Bewitched and The Brady Bunch, and any documentaries about the 70s and 80s. THANK YOU for creating this podcast. You ladies get me laughing, nodding, crying and feeling groovy! The rapport between (among!) you gals is fantastic. Keep it coming love (don’t stop)!
-
3bpmlLove this podcast!I don’t know how it took me so long this find this! It’s my new favorite podcast. Also , my parents moved me right after junior high-started high school in a small, very cliquey high school. It was horrible for me🥲!
-
KitcatbestappsCan’t Stop ListeningI still sing the Great Space Coaster theme song. Often. I’m glad you do too. This podcast is an instant dose of sunshine when I need it and it’s so inspiring that you three are self-taught, self-run, living and loving a new dream in your 50s! Can’t wait to hear more.
-
HotPinkManateeWhere Have You Been All of My Life???I just found this podcast and I am in love. I am also part of the Big Wheel Generation and listening to your stories is so completely and validating. I am only a few episodes in but I can’t wait to binge them all. 5 stars—No Notes.
-
Elisabeth S-LDelightful balm to the Gen X soul.I’m getting older (though I hate to say it) and I need a break from the news sometimes! This podcast is my go-to relaxation pod for warm and fuzzy feelings to chase away the blues. Thank you PCPS for all your hard work! It is appreciated!
-
Jacks🎱These gals put the Pop back in Pop Culture !♥️I ran across their Instagram page and thoroughly enjoyed seeing their content, traveling back in time with all the memorabilia they post about. I was pleased to see they had the same love for Shawn Cassidy that I did, and even more pleased to hear that they had a podcast interview with him. I had to rush to find this podcast and listen to the interview. The only thing that would have made it better, more gleeful, would have been to watch the entire interview on video. Since then, I can’t wait for the next episode. But, I am excited to fill the gap with all the past episodes that I have missed since they started. Take a happy trip back in time and revisit your childhood with Carolyn, Kristen and Michelle. Even if it wasn’t part of your childhood, I promise you will enjoy them, anyway. They are delightful and entertaining. Thank you, Ladies! 💜
-
CwknoxI look forward to PCPS every week!Whether you are part of Gen X or just enjoy pop culture, this podcast is a gem. It’s got everything from books and music to retro food fads and “a day in the life”. The hosts Kristin, Michelle, and Carolyn are so knowledgeable and their wonderful friendship shines through. You’ll want to be in their friend group!
-
Jet Screamer0769And further down the wormhole I go…Found you wonderful ladies on Insta this weekend and fell in love! You had me at hello. 😉 Now you’re a part of my commute! No better way to feel good before getting home after a full day in the office! Thank You!!!! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
-
DaDooDaidyGreat interview with Shaun Cassidy!I loved listening to your interview with Shaun! I felt it was the best interview since his interview with Oprah! You did a great job and enjoyed the questions, answers and chatting. I was also at his first Magic of a Midnight Sky show in Buellton at Standing Sun on 5/17/19. I had front row on the right end, which was my same seat on 7/27/79 in Berkeley. I want to get the Worldwide Crush book now. Wish I could find it in a bookstore near me, but will probably have to order through Amazon.
-
LisaV2207Brings back all the feelsThe PCPS Podcast gives me a reason look forward to Mondays. It is a happy trip down memory lane with folks that totally get my love of Shaun Cassidy and all of the weirdly wonderful parts on my Gen X childhood. So grateful I found you.
-
belena415Halle Stanford & Harriet the SpyThis interview was so much fun and nostalgic to listen to! I smiled and laughed out loud at times and my heart felt touched when talking about Harriet and Oscar. Halle is actually my sister—and I can tell you she is a magical being that continues to inspire all our children and their friends. She bring the rainbow connection to so many with her creative genius and the honor she brings to her craft. Even if she does make fun of me in interviews. LOL. And yes, her wedding dress was epic. Looking forward to being a new follower of your podcast! Fantastic!!!
-
Ann attacksBrings back incredible childhood memoriesThis is by far my favorite podcast of all time. It helps me relive so many memories that were buried in my heart. I laugh, cry, and sing with these fabulous women. Thank you for keeping these memories alive!!
-
missv8811Terrific Time MachineHave always had great memories of my childhood, but thanks to this podcast I get to relive them with 3 new friends!! Love it!!
-
clairec345Where has this podcast been my whole adult life?!So glad to have been introduced to these ladies by Shaun Cassidy (it is all one name, of course) because it’s like they are friends from high school whom I’ve never met. Talk of teen idols and Duckie vs. Blaine makes me glad to know I’m not the only one who remembers dialogue from a movie in the 80s, though often can’t find where I left my cellphone.
-
Lynder67Right on!Just found this podcast and it’s one of the best! Life in the 70’s remembered and told beautifully! Every episode brings a smile to my face! I’m updating my Spotify playlist as we speak!
-
Angel BixThis podcast brings me back! It’s June 2023 and I discovered this gem of a podcast. I started out at episode 1 (from 2020) and Shaun Cassidy, 1977 and my 4th grade life returned ! I am up to the sad songs of the 1970s and I can’t get enough of Kristin, Michelle and Carolyn. Love this series! Update 6/8/2023: I have completed season 1 in less than 3 days. I am addicted to this podcast. I have subscribed to their You tube channel, follow their Instagram and Facebook pages and have pre ordered Kristin’s book! Plus I love that they are based in my very own state of MN. Please keep making more episodes!
-
JG81*So Entertaining!I found this podcast on Facebook this week. I listened to the Shaun Cassidy interview & loved every minute because of it!! As a child of the 70’s Shaun was my first crush. The 3 podcast ladies are delightful. I wish I could hang out with them. They are so much fun to listen to!!!
-
DMV nurse cat momShaun Cassidy! What a fun episode! I saw his solo show in Chicago two summers ago and it was so much fun! I love that he was exactly who I hoped he’d be when I was a 12 year old girl, convinced that Shaun would absolutely be my husband some day. 😊
-
MrsMuggsLove this podcast!!I love this podcast so much! They bring up so many wonderful memories!
-
AL BluedotAin’t No Stoppin’ Y’all NowThe PCPS pod is one of my very favorites, and I’m going through some of the past episodes that I had not heard, since I just discovered it earlier this year. Highly recommend the 100th episode retrospective if you are new to the podcast! I feel like I’ve known these three hilarious women since childhood. Thanks for keeping our Gen-X memories alive!!!
-
McSchwarkieThe Best, of Some of the Best Years of my Life!Who knew when my friend Amy shared the PCPS podcast with me I would have found “my people”. GenX seems to be somewhat of a forgotten or not thought about generation! Thanks to Carolyn, Kristin and Michelle I can re-visit so many wonderful memories. Laugh, cry and just sit and steep in the nostalgia that is so uniquely GenX. Each week, when listening to the podcast, it’s like I’m meeting my best friends at the mall; not slumbering at a slumber party and enjoying all the gems that decorated my childhood, teen years and now my, ahem, prime years! Thank you ladies… for continuing to bring the best of some of the best years of my life! Cheers to PCPS and all my GenX pals!
-
stephwilBlast from the pastAt 55, I feel like I have met 3 new best friends!!! You girls talk about everything I loved about my growing up years and the feelings you share are exactly mine too!!! So fun and we as listeners can feel the excitement as you share your memories!! Thanks so much!!! Thanks to my sister too for sharing this podcast with me after she happened upon it!!
-
courtney_grayA must listen for GenXers!Discovering the Pop Culture Preservation Society and podcast is a true highlight of my year. In catching up on previous episodes, I find myself trying to participate with Carolyn, Kristin, and Michelle by nodding my head vigorously as they bring back a memory—or simply sing along with them. At a time when I feel like so much has changed due to the passing years, I’m grateful to have found the PCPS to connect virtually with others who get it. To find a podcast that prioritizes discussions (not to mention share ample research) about “That’s Incredible”, “Battle of the Network Stars”, “The Electric Company”, “Family” and “Schoolhouse Rock” is a dream. Be sure to subscribe to their Instagram as well!
-
Redsox67Just discovers my soul sistersWow, I have finally found my group. This is like my bestie and myself living our best 70s kid 80’s teen life. The shows, movies, music, clothes and all other Gen X things. Thank you for a much needed escape!
-
SandbumThis podcast is my new happy placeI am so glad I somehow stumbled across this podcast. Oh boy, does it ever take me back to my childhood. I feel like you guys are me and my sister talking about our memories. Thank you so much!!
-
Sweettea1970My fave podcast! This podcast is good for my health. I tend to listen to a lot of political podcasts and this is the only one that brings my blood pressure down instead of making it go up. It also motivates me to walk my dog instead of sitting on the couch watching the news. I’ve listened to every episode, some more than once, and am about to start from the beginning and listen to them all again. You’re providing a public service; a respite from modern stresses and negativity. Thank you, Carolyn, Kristin and Michelle!
-
**Jets FanLove this podcast!Listening to these 3 women who are all around my age is like being with my best girlfriends and reminiscing about all the things we loved about the 70’s and 80’s. I find myself cracking up and even sometimes tearing up but I know I will always have the best time!
-
Redstir68Ya think? After 100+ episodes these snowflakes finally admit they are judgmental week in and week out ?? Lol. A little late. Newsflash- some people can watch a movie from 40+ ago and just enjoy it for what it is instead of being triggered by it.
