    “Obesity” Episode Incredibly Stigmatizing
I take a lot of issue with your episode on “obesity medicine”. Co-opting body positivity language and it “not being about weight loss” is the opposite of what the message is in this podcast. You mention “weight control” and “obesity” as a condition (which it is not-google the definition of the word). The term “obesity” is incredibly stigmatizing in itself, but also weight is very much not in one’s control and many diseases that are correlated with “obesity” are just correlations and not proven to be caused by weight itself. This is just part of basic research methods. As an NP myself and someone who practices HAES, please do not try to co-opt “body positivity” while also promoting intentional weight loss and pretending it is about “health.”

    Candidates for AANP leadership roles
I enjoy the AANP podcast. I believe you bring a variety of information focused on the NP Next I would like to make a comment regarding elections of a ANP leadership is open now for elections. I understand that you can go to the website and read all the bios of the candidates running for the different offices. I would also like to have open forums with the candidates two hear more personal ideas along with ability to ask direct questions. This will possibly help members make a more rounded decision. I would like the AANP to consider this type of open forum possibly in the future elections. I have been in AANP member from the beginning of my career as a nurse practitioner, also I would like to say I enjoy their website and the information on the AANP website for continuing education and keeping abreast of the current issues dealing with nurse practitioners from the political side and clinical side as well.

Wish I had known it was around. Very well done. Way to go AANP. It’s great to have evidence based education from fellow NPs.
