    So inspiring!
This is truly one of my all-time favorite podcasts! Each episode has been informative as well as inspiring. Lisa has a gift for sharing priceless mindfulness tips as well as encouraging creativity. The practical advice that she shares from her life coaching knowledge is so valuable! I always look forward to each new episode. Thank you!

    Insightful and Inspiring
Listening to this podcast is like sipping a warm cup of tea, sitting by a crackling fire, or chatting with an old friend, leaning back in a reclining chair, or the aroma of comfort food wafting through the house. In a world of endless books on increasing productivity, and videos showing us how to do anything and everything perfectly, Lisa’s message is to relax, have fun, and “allow yourself to be terrible” in your creative endeavors. I love how she keeps it real, and encourages listeners to enjoy the process of bringing your creative self to life. Even if you don’t have interest in hand lettering or consider yourself to have any artistic talent, Committed to Create has an insightful, meditative quality that inspires mindfulness and a sense of self-kindness that is greatly beneficial and relevant to many different aspects of life.

    You speak to my soul
I have listened to 3 podcasts that you were on and everytime I heard your voice it feels very familiar and very comforting. I don’t think it’s easy putting your heart out there I think it takes a level of vulnerability to truly connect with us. You have helped me in so many ways, you speak life to my soul and I just love who you are. It’s always a great listening to you and what you do. Thank you for taking the courage to do what you are doing because I have been grateful for it. It has helped me navigate ways of creating imperfectly. Thank you Lisa.

    Beyond Grateful
I don’t even know where to begin! Lisa came into my life when I needed her the most. I have been binge listening to her past podcasts, which just leave me craving more. It’s like Lisa took a walk in my brain and knows just what I need to hear. I recently purchased her “Daily Mindful Lettering” book and started using it today. I am so grateful Lisa embraced this opportunity to share her personal journey with anxiety and depression with us. Words really can’t express how thankful I am. <3

    What a gift!
My daughter surprised me with the “Daily Mindful Lettering” bundle and my cup is full! I am on Day 5 and I LOVE how easy it has been to incorporate 5 (or 90) minutes of creating into my day. I love to create while listening to your podcasts. Your wisdom provides great value to all aspects of life. Each day I am more and more mindful of submitting to the process rather than creating for perfection. Thank you, Lisa. I look forward to seeing where this journey takes me.

    Podcast Walking
I look forward to putting in my headphones and taking a 30 minute or so, walk, while listening to these podcasts. They have given me so much peace and helped me with becoming more mindful of my thoughts, and practicing my lettering for fun, also to plant positive, encouraging intentions for my day. I have been truly blessed by each one I’ve heard so far. My husband actually joined me with a headphone in his ear the other day and really like the message. He said “I totally get why you enjoy this so much” all this to say that the “Committed to Create” podcast has really brought a bright light into my days and I am slowly changing the way I see things. Thank you Lisa 🌺

Lisa’s podcast and her hand lettering materials have been a gift!!
I bought a creative lettering kit for myself as a Mother’s Day gift last spring - a much needed after a couple months of quarantine, and continues to be as the pandemic lingers on. This podcast started at the right time - I have listened to every episode since the very first one & have meant to write a review for way too long. Lisa has great insights into developing mindful creativity in your everyday life and is so encouraging for those of us who would not normally call themselves “creative”. Lisa has a very down to earth personality that comes through the words that she shares, is honest & vulnerable, so easy to listen to. Just like you are on her big blue couch together! No wonder this podcast is getting top reviews! I listen when I go for walks, fold laundry and even while I do some daily mindful lettering with her new work book that I got for Christmas! From Trish (a CDN living in the US).

    The Big Picture!
I’ve been meaning to write this review since day one of the podcast. Every time I listen I get more than inspiration for creating and trying to let go of my perfectionist habits, but I also learn things about myself. We are very similar so I’ve related so much to every topic and I always feel like I just had a great therapy session after listening. I like to picture we just had a conversation on your big blue couch, and every time you mention it I smile. The biggest takeaway I’ve had from this podcast was the unrealistic perfect expectations I was placing on myself for something I had never tried before. Had it been anyone else I would have recognized how crazy that was. This expectation paralyzed me from pursuing a major interest of mine because I couldn’t live up to what I was demanding from myself and feelings of selfishness for taking that time for just me. I’m happy to report lettering is now one of my favorite activities to do to relax and create and actually takes the pressure off. I’m so grateful for Lisa’s heart and passion in this space, it comes through the microphone and inspires me every time. Thank you so much! -Amy Nelsen

    I don’t hand letter but I listen!
I really enjoy listening to your podcast while I am cross stitching - which I am doing for the process not the end products. Keep up the great work - you say just the right things to keep us enjoying crafts for crafts sake 😁 Thank you !

    I soak up these episodes!!
I LOVE this podcast! I’m so thankful for Lisa!! She tells you SO much truth in such a gentle and encouraging way. She knows all the negative self talk we hear in our heads and teaches you how to combat it head on!! Listening to her really makes you feel like you are on her big blue couch having a much needed conversation with a friend. Her genuine enthusiasm for creating and the positive impact it can have on our mental health is so evident. She inspires me with every single episode!!

    Can we be friends?
I found this podcast after stumbling upon Lisa's website and I am in love! It's like someone reached into the depths of my mind and created a podcast just for me! I have struggled with anxiety and depression for my entire life and my anxiety has caused me to stop doing creative things. I made a decision to make 2021 a year where I delve into using the creative side of my brain in hopes of better managing my anxiety and had decided the first thing I wanted to try was hand lettering. I found Lisa's daily Mindful lettering book and then this podcast. It is amazing! I've been binge listening to the podcast the best I can with a 2.5 and 5 year old boys! I just started listening to the episode where Lisa mentions the Firstname Basis podcast (another one I love) and now I know I would be friends with Lisa if I knew her in real life! If you haven't started yet, go listen to Committed to Create now!

    I love this podcast!
I started following Lisa because I love her hand lettering and have started to do some as well. She has a way of incorporating real life issues into ways to be creative. I love how she talks often about soul care and the importance not comparing ourselves to others. The recent seasonal adjustment podcast was so good too! Thank you Lisa!

    Peaceful, mindful and lovely
The best part about this podcast is the calm. That’s in rare supply these days, and when combined with gentle, encouraging talk for taking time for you to be more present and engaged in your own creative ways - it’s like having your own dose of morning inspiration with a friend over coffee.

    So soothing 💗
I absolute adore this podcast. Lisa is such a sweet and compassionate guide on the journey of coming back to the present moment and calming the body and mind with mindful creativity. Even just listening is healing and calming. I love her insights and her graceful way of explaining mindfulness that remains human and practical for everyone to relate to. I also really love that she focused on creating to create, not just for making money. It brings the fun back. Thank you Lisa! Xoxo

    Mindfulness, Real-ness and Creativity
I found Lisa when I decided to purchase a Hand Lettering class at the beginning of quarantine. I LOVED it!!! I then learned Lisa was doing a podcast and really looked forward to it! She has not disappointed and its even better than I’d imagined. I value and have been so encouraged by her real-ness, the freedom to make mistakes, the encouragement to create with our kids and how to allow them to be free to make mistakes, and all the wonderful mindfulness suggestions. This is one of my favorite podcasts and I look forward to each episode! Thank you, Lisa, for being real, encouraging our path of creativity and providing healing tips for our mind! I wish I could come sit on your big blue couch and truly get to know you! 😉

    Relatable! Solid and concrete examples
I recently discovered Lisa through her lettering. First episode I listened to was about decision making and it really felt like she was describing me. I have always struggled with making decisions, big or small. I have been catching up with her other episodes as well. She is relatable, easy to listen to, solid advice. Looking forward to being completely caught up with previous episodes and looking forward to listening to future episodes!
  • Michelle C 🥰
    Such practical and great advice!
I feel like Lisa speaks directly to the things that I need to hear! I especially love the episode about helping with the need to please people! Her tips are very useful to improve the quality of life and let go of things that don’t matter 🥰

It’s like Lisa is spying on me...
I just listened to episode 15 “The Gift of Decision” and couldn’t not leave a review. Lisa talks about different examples of things she has struggled making decisions on, and these examples are straight out of my life. I love the advice she gives on how to spend less time and effort making decisions, and I am excited to try her suggestions. All of Lisa’s episodes resonate with me, but today she hit the bulls eye. She has a way of extracting life lessons from her experiences and sharing them in a way that is so relatable. Thank you Lisa!

Fresh View On Creativity and Family Time
Oh my...I have been binging this podcast lately and every episode has been wonderful! I have a toddler who struggles to do art projects. He has no patience and taking Lisa’s advice for letting him lead the project instead of being the helicopter mom has been a huge success. I’ve also started to bring out my lettering while my little one is coloring or working on letters and love that we can really do that together. I’m loving the encouragement to bring creativity in my life in a much less stressed way of needing the perfect time to create. Lisa’s views and tips/tricks has really refreshed my joy in being creative! Thank you Lisa I can’t wait for the next blue couch session!
  • Love FC!
    Every episode speaks to me!
I just can’t get enough! When I think it can’t get any better, Lisa brings another mind-blowing idea or concept for me to ponder. I gather tidbits, thoughts, and ideas from each episode, but the ones on comparison, consumption, and lessons from chalk art, I have listened to multiple times! Thank you, Lisa, for sharing it all with us! 💕 Leslie

    Just what I needed!
I just binge listened to all the episodes and cannot wait for more! This podcast speaks to me on so many levels! The need to create to help my mental health, the feelings of comparison and judgment, the desire to do more and be better, I love it all. I love the vulnerability and honesty. I love knowing I’m not alone but that also, there’s hope for better and more! I highly recommend this podcast! They are short and full of valuable insights and motivation! Thank you Lisa!

A word I needed just in time!
Wow! Just finished listening to consuming carefully and man that was something I needed to hear today! They crazy thing is that I was just thinking about this too and then tuned in today and here it was (funny how God does that). Definitely loving the podcast and can’t wait to tune in for the next episode.

    Cross-Generational Conversation
Lisa’s podcast has become something I look forward to each week. I wish I had her advice 20 years ago when I was raising my children, however I have found her words resonate with me just as deeply now that I am in my early 40s. Each episode gets better and better and gives me a chance to reflect and grow as a person. I never realized how important my inner voice has been in my decision-making over the years and I am so grateful for her strategies to retrain it to work for me in a more positive and productive way. Thank you Lisa! I love forward to our next blue couch conversation.

An advocate for creativity + mental health
I’ve been following Lisa on Instagram for several months and I was blown away by her vulnerability and courage on that platform. When she came out with a podcast I knew I wouldn’t be disappointed. Lisa’s podcast continues to show her advocacy for mental health, creativity, and self care. She is genuine. She is positive. She is a breath of fresh air. Thank you Lisa for reminding me to take time for myself and normalizing all the icky feelings.

    Comparison Stacking
Wow! When I first started listening and you shared about stacking blocks with your kids, I wasn’t sure where you were going and I thought I may not relate to this one because my kids are 15 and 17; our blocks have been shared with others many times over. As you began to explain how we take a block from each of our gifted friends and add their gifts to my to do list if things I need to accomplish, I was re-lat-Ing! I forget that my worth is unaffected by my accomplishments and start stacking the things I “need” to do. Like, I need to eat less carbs, or cook more gourmet or be more creative. When I have allowed myself the gift of lettering, I could feel my brain shift to my right side. It felt like a relief. I wasn’t trying, I was just creating! Thank you for giving me the freedom to try!!!

    What I needed
My husband is deployed and has been gone over 8 months already. I knew this was going to be hard, and I’ve been working very hard on my mental health to be a strong mom for my two kids, as well as a strong wife to support my husband. But I was starting to slip into a negative mindset, especially when COVID hit because I didn’t think I could take anymore during this deployment. BUT that’s when I had an ad pop up on my Instagram for the Creative Journal and I wanted that beautiful hand writing. So I bought it as something to do to get me through this time and it has been such a calming thing to do. I love the videos Lisa has sent along with the book, I love the sayings in the book. My husband also has been trying to push podcasts on me for forever, so when I saw Lisa was starting a podcast I could hear my husband in my head saying I should try it, and I’m so glad I did. I so enjoy listening to Lisa’s calming voice and reminding us it’s okay to be a person and not just a mom. This podcast is just awesome. I have recommended it to a lot of my family and friends already too! I really do feel so much calmer and more relaxed after doing my handlettering and listening to her podcast.

    Great for the creative perfectionist
I’m always telling my kids to enjoy the creative process and not lend too much weight to the end product. Why is it so easy for me to give them that direction and still feel like I’m no good at anything for which the end product isn’t perfect??? Thank you Lisa for the reminder that the process is more important than perfection. I enjoy listening to your perspective and pick up lots of great tips for my own creative and mindfulness practices as I try and cultivate better mental health for myself. I so relate to your journey!

I am so thankful for finding this podcast! As a therapist, I feel like she does a great job of combining honesty and acceptance while also challenging us to look towards improving our thinking and our lives! Helping You Feel Happier and More Whole
I love the way Lisa sets the mood for her podcast by “inviting” you in to sit on her blue couch. Listening to Committed to Create makes me feel like I am having coffee with a friend. It has helped me a lot on my journeys with both mental health and creativity to listen to this podcast. I now understand more about the how when they come together I feel even more happy and whole. I feel more excited to create now because I know it is for my mental health as well. I am grateful that Lisa is sharing her story about how she does her best to balance her work and her life. No one does it perfectly, although Lisa never stops trying and she holds me accountable to do the same.

    Inspiring!
I enjoy listening to Lisa’s podcasts on my commute to work! She is very down to earth, has a great voice, and she is easy to relate to. I have recently just became interested in lettering and I have a history of PTSD - I have found her podcasts very inspiring and also healing. I hope she decides to do more podcasts a week. Thank you Lisa for starting this journey in podcasts! You truly are touching lives!
  • SavvysMom04
    Couldn’t stop listening!
I enjoy her down-to-earth style! She is real talk & it’s ok to not be perfect with your lettering & in life. So refreshing to listen to someone who isn’t preaching “at” you; instead giving you positive creative outlets! I extended my walk just so I could finish listening to Lisa. Can’t wait to put this new found creativity to use.

    I’m hooked!
I just discovered Lisa, and I’m so glad I did! I love how she combines creativity with heart, mind and soul health, and her warmth and enthusiasm to share with others what she’s learning is so encouraging! And you don’t have to be a letterer to enjoy it; I’m a watercolor artist and what she shares totally applies to all areas of creativity. Can’t wait for the next episode. Thanks Lisa!

    Love this podcast!!
I have now started walking by dog even more constantly in the evenings just so I can take that time to listen to the podcast!! I’m learning SO much on this podcast! I love her handlettering tools and discovered her a few years ago on Instagram! I can’t wait to put more of the creativity tools I’m learning from the podcast into practice for both myself and my nanny kids!

... a smart, creative, compassionate friend. I really enjoy Lisa’s conversational style and love the nuggets of wisdom and encouragement she has in each episode. The way she shares her personal experiences is really grounding and relatable and makes you feel like she’s right by your side on this creative journey. I savor each episode - thank you, Lisa!!

Lisa is SO positive and SO real
Sometimes you listen to a podcast and it sounds very unrealistic. Lisa is so real to life, emotions, and isn’t afraid to share things as they really are. She is so positive and shares so many tools to apply to life no matter what your challenges are. It all starts with your brain! I tend to fall into the default trap with thoughts. Okay, most of the time. But when you stop and create a new thought in your brain that can serve you in a much better and positive way, life opens up to more possibilities and you then can create whatever you want. “The possibilities are endless”- quotes by Lisa. I am SO excited she has started this podcast. SO inspiring!!

    Just what I need ❤️
Lisa’s podcast is really like having a friend to listen to. Her words resonate so much with me, not only the “being creative” portions but how she truly cares about her listeners and the feelings/emotions that most of us go through. This is so wonderful! Thank you for doing this Lisa!

Great connections to creativity and mindfulness
I have loved all of the episodes of this podcast so far. Lisa has a unique ability to tell her story and journey in a relatable way. I love the connections Lisa makes to creativity and mindfulness. She has given me so much to think about and ponder in my own life and motivates me to apply the things she shared through this podcast.

    Love Lisa’s Podcast!
I love this podcast so far! I started listening because I want to get motivated to be creative more often. But Lisa talks about way more than hand-lettering or other creative pursuits. When I found out her mission is to help people find relief from mental struggles and find more joy, I was hooked! Lisa’s voice itself is very soothing and listening puts me in a good mood. I recommend this podcast to anyone looking for more light and love in their life!

    Amazing
I have been following Lisa Funk for a awhile now but when I listened to her podcast especially episode 2 it really spoke to me on some many levels. I am crafting person and life has gotten in the way so I put crafting on the back burner. But now I will getting back to it. I am going to learn hand lettering! I love listening to podcast that I associate with in some many ways! Love it Lisa awesome job!

    Very applicable
Lisa’s podcasts are excellent and apply to everyone, because even though you might not have the same struggles she does, we all struggle with something. We all have low points in our lives. And that’s when we really need something that will lift us up and refocus us. Doing something for yourself, that nourishes your soul, is always a good thing to do and that’s the message of her podcast.

    Helps my anxiety
I’ve always had a lot of anxiety and I just ordered the “Creative lettering journal bundle”. It’s very relaxing and fun to learn to write this faux calligraphy. It has all the letters in it, then fun gratitude sayings. It comes with tracing paper so you can practice over and over without having to write in the book. There’s also cute little notecards you can make yourself and it’s just a fun kit. I’m so glad I finally bought it. It’s definitely worth the money and I can tell it’s going to be a fun, relaxing hobby! I’m also just starting to listen to the podcast and enjoying it as well.

A moment to get out of our brains
Whoa, do I feel SEEN after listening to “How Lettering Changed my Life.” I loved hearing Lisa talk about how lettering gave her permission to self-explore and try out new hobbies. I’ve always struggled to have positive self-talk during times of stress, but after listening, I made the connection of how mindfulness helps with thought management. I can’t wait to try this out for myself and give my self “a moment to step out of my brain!”
