Kimber KarmaWeird Dawson hatredThis is my first rewatch of my fav show as a teen. I too am the same age as the characters were at the time so I wanted to find a podcast to add to my rewatch. I really liked the first few podcasts but as I started to get into season 2 this podcast became unbearable to listen to. Erin has a weird hatred of Dawson and forgets these are supposed to be teenagers and this was in 1998. Every single episode she calls him a piece of ahit even when he does nothing wrong. She brings up the fact these are all entitled “white people” nonstop. She literally uses the phrase white people several times in every episode. Her laugh is annoying and she constantly cuts Julia off. I really like Julia’s insight and she does push back on some things but not enough imo. I’m super disappointed as I loved it at first.
-
TJedge10Not that greatI’m just getting into this show and whilst I love it and do see why it was popular when it was on, I feel like Erin and Julia are taking this way too seriously and are equating Dawson to like some weird white supremacy which makes no sense and they go on these tangents about guys for no reason and think every white guy is privileged and rich which is a very close minded way to look at people. Love the show, but this podcast isn’t for me
-
CCleveland123I like itAfter getting used to both ladies using a massive amount of filler words (like, you know, etc…) it got better and now I listen to it everyday. It’s good !
-
jeanchrispinUggggghMostly good. I listen to reminisce about a childhood favorite. Julia and Erin do well dissecting the weekly melodrama of Dawson, Joey, Pacey and Jen. I love the insight into the minds of 3 of the 4 main characters. Sadly it’s become a bit of a hate listen for the oddly aggressive takes towards Dawson. And look, I think he’s a ****head too but the critique of him is far too harsh. On my rewatch, I’ve found myself looking forward to the moments where Dawson is actually the victim and how it will be spun as his fault by Erin. 5 stars for that.
-
basichedgewitchSeriously so goodI can’t believe it took me this long to find this podcast! A must listen for Dawson fans, especially those of us who are elder millennials. I love the little history briefings that go along with each episode (shoutout Surya Bonaly). Thanks so much for making this!
-
WhereIsSvenI’ll probably listen to this over and over.I’m so going to miss these weekly critiques of such an iconic part of my youth. Currently cackling laughing over the wild women recap - AUNT GWEN’S PAINTING WILL LIVE IN INFAMY.

Melissa1111111111111Sad it’s endingLove the chemistry of the hosts. I love that they love and hate Dawsons Creek as I do. I’m sad it’s almost over!
-
JaitlynThis is greatI am sad I’ve only discovered this in the past few weeks as it’s coming to an end. Even though I’ve seen the last 7 episodes of season 3…20+ times? I haven’t been able to make it further than that since it originally aired (other than when I watched season 6 once as a standalone tv show (which it is)). But I am now determined to get through it with my new buddies
-
anynickname1976Negative energyI started out liking this podcast but geez, the complaining (mostly one sided) is draining. Things that most people can laugh about turn into a huge rant. I just want to yell, “it’s a tv show!” I do like some of the music flashbacks Julia brings up and her little side stories are fun. But overall the podcast has lost its appeal.

D😄W😄My Favorite PodcastAn absolute joy to listen to every Wednesday! I love hearing their experience being able to watch each episode as it came out and talking about how their opinion of the characters and the episodes changed over time. I also love the connections they make between episodes seasons and general themes of the show. Also I don’t know if its just cause I too am from California, but they don’t say like too much lol.
-
Get it together srslyIsn’t enjoyable in later seasonsWe all get that the latter half of the series wasn’t great but it’s just not enjoyable to listen to Erin and Julia complain about everything about the last two seasons. I’ve loved Dawson’s creek since episode one also and can get past the last two seasons without hate watching it. This was a fun podcast to listen to at the beginning but they’ve made it worse than the last two seasons of Dawson’s creek.
-
1110ebShallow and crassThese two women make this show all about sex. They don’t seem to understand the complexities of the characters and, therefore, are always too hard on Dawson. They look at the show through very judgemental woke eyes and that’s not how the show was meant to be viewed. It’s sad how they misunderstand/misrepresent what’s happening because of their viewpoint.
-
holly1426Like like y’know? Totally! As a midwesterner maybe I’m just not used to that cool west coast speak but my god. Literally every. Other. Word. Is either 1) like 2) totally 3) y’know. If you played a drinking game you’d be dead for sure. Other than THAT I do enjoy listening to these hip gals reminisce about my fav show from the late 90s.
-
Flo-babyLove!Love this podcast! Im a younger viewer(born 97) who just found DC last year. I binged the series and fell in love with the show (especially Pacey). This podcast is great and sums up so much about how I feel about the show. I’m so happy to have found a podcast so funny, in-depth, thoughtful and fun to listen to learn more about the show!
-
Katiekins of the NorthCreek Freak ‘98As an old school Gen x fan of DC, I was jazzed to find this podcast. I love the episode dissection done by real fans. I like the discussion and perspective between the hosts. I agree the ‘90’s were flawed, but sometimes the Millennial “woke” feminist psycho-analytical initiative gets a bit much. The deep dive into a character’s motivation is thoughtful, but sometimes it’s not destructive privilege reigning it’s ugly head, created by woman hater writers, sometimes it’s just fictional entertainment moving the story along. Perhaps it’s the generational gap, but I loved the show for everything it was at that the time, and everything it wasn’t.
-
CookiewordslolThank you!I just watched DC for the first time a few months ago. I was almost 2 when the show premiered but watching now I completely fell in love with the show. This podcast gives such great insight to the issues of the show and how we’ve progressed as a society since then and how we can continue to grow moving forward. Julia is hilarious and always open to new ideas, and Erin is brutally honest and stands her ground. This dynamic has taught me a lot of my own thinking habits and faults, and has allowed me to think about myself in a new light. I’m dreading the end of this podcast but would binge a new show if they ever decided to do a new series. Their book is great and gives you all the feels about DC. Thank you both for helping me get through the day. I listen when I’m driving, when I’m bored, before bed, and when I make art. It completely relaxes me and allows me to continue loving DC because I have a hard time watching shows over and over again due to my anxiety and short attention span.

John11189Brilliantly Relevant & Funny as F_ck!Where to start? This is a fascinating and hysterical analysis of the late 90s TV show Dawson’s Creek. My kids grew up watching Dawson’s Creek and I watched along with them. It was my guilty pleasure masquerading as good parenting! Listening to Erin and Julia’s play-by-play analysis of each episode is a fun, witty and REAL study in 90s sociology. This podcast is so much fun and so smart. And after listening to several episodes you will feel like you have two new friends just down the creek.
-
melina15187Love this podcast!I just discovered this podcast and can’t stop listening. The commentary is so insightful and funny!
-
ems2484Love Dawson’s CritiqueBest podcast ever! I honestly feel like I’m hanging out with two friends every week. Their commentary is smart, authentic, timely and important.
-
mousy105A Weekly Treat!Every week I look forward to Erin and Julia’s insightful, funny and entertaining discussions about my favorite teen drama. As someone the same age as them, I love when they get into the social norms and culture of when we were in high school compared to now. I just wish they’d be a little easier on Dawson sometimes. He’s far from perfect but all the characters were flawed and I love them all.

kirawise27Doing the Lord’s Work Calling Out DawsonLove this podcast! My second favorite Dawson’s Creek pod—I listen to The Creekend to hear them vent about the show and be enraged with me and then I come here for a thoughtful analysis and discussion of the show. I love them calling out Dawson for his never ending problematic behavior (although they could do trigger warnings for eps where they discuss sexual assault). I also love the “histories mysteries” segment because it gives me some context, and I love Julia pointing out what the original music was supposed to be. I was born in 1997 so I did not watch the show when it first aired but in High School (around 2013-14) after I became obsessed with TVD and found out Julie and Kevin first worked together on Dawson’s Creek, I loved it but definitely had a different experience with it than Julia and Erin did so I love hearing stories of how much this show meant to them when they were teens to young adults. My one critique is they could do more to understand the east coast better, some of their comments feel like they are kind of turning their nose up at the east coast, and also UMass Boston is 100% a real school, I know many people who have degrees from there. And it causes them to not see how obviously not Massachusetts it is. But other than that I love the podcasts and can’t wait to get further in, almost done with season 2!

Megan Last name withheldThey had me at:“Broadly, there’s nothing wrong with being religious… The problem that millennials have… is that b!$ches ain’t be christlike, you know?”

Anonymous SmithieLOVE Julia and ErinI started listening to this podcast at the end of 2020 and it has quickly become the only podcast I eagerly wait for every week and listen to immediately when I wake up on Wednesdays. Erin and Julia have that podcast chemistry that makes you as a listener feel like you’re just having a really fun conversation with friends. I was already a pretty hard core Dawson’s critique fan before this but it’s so fun to find a whole community of other Dawson’s Creek fanatics with opinions about all the same things I have opinions about, through this podcast, very much including but not even limited to the always excellent takes by Julia and Erin. This show even inspired me to start my own podcast! I will be so sad when they finish the series, this has been a beautiful weekly accompaniment to my life for the last many months.
-
donteffincareAbsolutely obsessedI happened to stumble upon Erin and Julia’s podcast by accident. And I am so happy I did. It takes me back to when I watched the show (I still watch my dvds thank you very much!) but they are just truly amazing and do such a phenomenal job! It is my new go to when I commute. I love how this is like the spark notes to my favorite show. It’s so funny how on cue I am with both of them. And, they have made me see different perspectives and I think there is nothing better than watching something you love and experiencing something new while you do it. Again can not thank you two enough this is GREAT!

Welcome2primetimeHate filled women who hate Kevin WilliamsonSo I was into this podcast at first. Then I realized how little they don’t actually talk about the show in depth. The fact that they openly say they hate older people yet always say to please be nice to them is hypocritical and hateful. They hate Kevin Williamson, who created the show, because he wrote Dawson to be a flawed character. They think Kevin holds Dawson up to be perfect but that’s not the case. Dawson is the wide eyed optimist. He isn’t written to be the perfect boy/man. You write characters that are flawed so you can see them change and grow. I’m not a fan of the character of Dawson. However, saying that you hate the creator of the show you claim to love is ridiculous when you hate them for untrue reasons. Skip this podcast. Although I appreciate the feminist view of the show, I can’t get past the untruths they spew
-
modquiltgirlA walk down memory laneThanks for your detailed dive into this show! I haven’t watched the show in many years but absolutely LOVED it (and James Vanderbeek is amazing BTW, I was always team Joey and Dawson).
-
Cmouse65Great podcastJust love your take in this show! I’m an older viewer, never watched when it was on. I heard so much about the ships on this show, so found it during lockdown. You two ladies- are hilarious, yet honest.
-
JessBold22Show discussion is good but...The political talk is extremely annoying. These ladies need to turn off MSNBC and stick to Dawson’s Creek. They often say things that make them sound stupid.
-
KrisG_MLISTENFinally in my 30’s I jumped into Dawson’s Creek and became completely fully invested, this podcast is a PERFECT companion after binge watching. These two are funny and have incredible perspectives and insights. They have me laughing at work, excited to continue my journey down the creek with them! 😄
-
SDOSDO4A true gemDawson’s Critique is a gem of a podcast. I deep-dove into Dawson’s Creek and have no intention of getting out of the water. Julia and Erin offer a compassionate and informed perspective on this wonderful, complex, flawed show. They make me laugh, think, and feel like I have two old friends sitting on my porch debriefing this show I love.
-
GinnyMom74I enjoy it, but ... like ...I really enjoy this podcast because it’s the first one I’ve discovered where the podcasters actually know the show and are not watching it for the first time. My one and only issue, which may turn me away completely is the excessive use of the word, “like.” No one should use the word this much in a conversation. Unfortunately, it’s all I hear after listening to a few episodes.
-
ktklimGood podcastI am enjoying this podcast. I feel like I am sitting with my friends & talking about my fav show! #teampacey
-
Luckee83Could be BetterDawson’s Creek is one of my all time favorite shows, so I enjoy listening to related podcasts. I could love this one if the hosts didn’t assume every guy was a sexual predator and every woman has been sexually harassed. These are so called fans of the show?? I love listening when they don’t go on one of their assault rants.
-
blondebutterflieWoke Dawson’s CreekI love hearing a rewatch with a modern view. I’m loving this and every episode gets more fun!
-
LBW629Love this podcastDawson’s Creek was my favorite show during my teenage years. It was what I LIVED for and this podcast is bringing me so much joy.
-
jodie8301I look forward to Wednesday’s again!I’m the exact same age as Erin and Julia and love Dawson’s creek as much as they do. Listening to this podcast is like listening to my own thoughts on the show. It’s been so fun to rewatch as a 37 year old woman and reminisce about the show. A must listen for any Dawson’s fan. Pacey and Joey forever!
-
Ramki7My latest BFFsJulia and Erin are my latest bffs that I have never met! I’m still catching up but ladies you are what I needed for my post DC withdrawal. I’m same age as you but saw DC for the first time only few months ago! I laugh with you, I’m angry and frustrated along with you and I scream and squeal with Pacey love with you both! You ladies are the Best! ♥️
-
paceyiseverythingI’m in!Delighted to have found you guys on my second rewatch of DC. I needed to process through a contemporary lens, and I’m very satisfied. Ran 8 miles to the sound of your fun conversation on the pilot and I could’ve kept going :-). I’m in!
-
SpolifBetter podcasts than this out thereHorrible podcast. Don’t waste your time.
-
lelahlimeGreat theme song is just the startLove the theme song of this podcast, but love the thoughtful commentary even more. I think I’m approximately a contemporary of the hosts and share a lot their perspective but find their critiques interesting. Thanks for this great deep dive into a problematic but iconic series.
-
hipposandwrestlingThe best Dawson’s Creek podcast out there!I am currently re-watching Dawson’s (as I do time and time again) and tried a couple of different related podcasts and wasn’t really feeling them until I listened to this one! They get right and to the point- not like a lot of podcasts that tend to go off on tangents on unrelated things for the majority of it. I am in my mid-late 30’s so I feel like I grew up with the DC crew and the hosts did too. I am from New England and hearing the hosts from Cali talk about New England makes me laugh. The hosts are in general really funny and have me agreeing with them out loud while listening alone in my car. The Dawson character is insufferable at times but this podcast isn’t. 😊
-
TruedirectioObsessed!!!When I found you guys you had just released episode two of season one and I have been hooked ever since!! I love your show and I love how you are bringing Dawson’s Creek back to life 20 years later through an interesting perspective! I also feel special because when I emailed your show (something I have never done EVER) Erin shared that I was the first fan to do so! #oglistener hahaha!! Cant wait to read your book! Please never stop!!!!
-
Allie A from ATLAwesome podcast!I didn’t think I’d ever meet somebody else that could analyze Dawson’s to the crazy extent I do.....enter Julia and Erin. Love hearing their weekly perspective that has a nice balance of “what it was like watching it then” and “what it’s like watching it now”. I smile and laugh every time I listen and this podcast came at the perfect time in a very crazy 2020 year. Looking forward to all the episodes to come!!
-
Heidee PurvisOne of my favorite podcasts!Dawson’s Critique is absolutely fantastic! Erin and Julia do a great job of breaking down and critiquing each episode. They take me down memory lane with their reminiscing of days gone by, and I love hearing their memories of how they viewed the show during its original run vs how they view it now and how much they’ve grown and changed. They’re funny, they’re witty, and they’ll definitely make you look at some things in ways you hadn’t thought of before! Bonus points for adoring Pacey!
-
Janis545Awesome!These two make my day every Wednesday! They’re funny, cool, and realistic in their analysis of these crazy characters! Highly recommend for any Creek fan!
-
clare7364so goodlove the show!!!
-
UmhuhGreat episode critiquesDawson’s Creek is my absolute favorite teen show of the late 90s early 00s. It will always hold a warm place in my heart because I was growing up at the same time with these characters. I love how these two women break down each episode scene by scene. The critiques are so good. It’s also great to revisit the themes of this show and discover how my interpretations of the subject matter have changed 20+ years after the original airing. And so much nostalgia for the late 90s!
-
Kelly BeeeNostalgiaThis podcast is a perfect escape to a simpler and much less stressful time. I absolutely love it.
