    Meh
This used to be one of my favorite podcasts, but somewhere along the way it stopped being a podcast about jiu jitsu and became jiu jitsu guys just talking aimlessly about anything but jiu jitsu.

    Great episode!
Just finished episode w/Vagner. Great show, the hosts have a love and passion for BJJ. They gave Vagner & Fafa room to breathe and talk, lots of hosts take over the show and do most of the talking. I was fortunate to do a seminar with Vagner and Cyborg last month and they are as advertised, humble, down to earth, funny, just a real dude. 🤙🏻

    From the 808
I enjoy the stories and experiences that you all bring up. It has given me inspiration to continue training at the ripe old age of 47. I'm a lifetime athlete and have been coaching football for the past 13 years and never made time for myself until recently. I don't coach anymore and needed to fill the void of competition and growth. BJJ was always a curiosity to me, so I took up an invitation by a co-worker (BBJ black belt), now friend, to go to early morning sessions. It's not formal training and drilling is almost non-existent, so I have to do nearly everything on my own. I've been looking for a school/academy but the times are not conducive to my work schedule. I get smashed every single session, but that's to be expected. It gets frustrating because no color belt wants to get caught by a newbie and they make sure to keep it that way. I'm still learning- the lifestyle and especially this beautiful sport- and always humbled. Because I've coached for so long, I've had to put myself in the place of a student once again and have to give myself grace because the movements and setups don't come to me naturally. A mind trick that I pose to myself is the question, "Can today's you smash yesterday's you?" I can say resoundingly...YES!!! I can't gauge my progress, but I feel that I've come a long way from being the spazzy, uncomfortable, and hyperventilating old man to a dirty white belt who just wants to survive. Until I leave the sessions by not getting choked out or my jaw being popped that often, only then will I try to work on submissions. YouTube helps, but nothing beats getting on the mat and feeling the pressure. Continue your great work braddahs and sistah! God Bless you all and continued successes to your academy and journey. -From the Great State of the 808!!! Aloha!

    Look forward to more episodes
I love the still learning attitude you all possess it’s good to hear from hungry BJJ practitioners who still have a lot of knowledge but are still in the bulk learning stage with most of us listeners, your advice about competition helps a ton I’m entering my first tourney this June as a white belt with 6 months exp. Im focusing on absorbing the experience & not going in the with the win/lose attitude i had before . Keep up the good content, Shaun Alexander white 2 stripe
