Repentant🤯Mo Shares Fascinating FactoidsMo has accompanied us on more than one trip as we binge on this great podcast! It makes the miles go by pleasantly as we learn about disappearing sitcom characters, Peggy Lee and more! We highly recommend this podcast!
-
Shmotz4343Yes! Mo is the best!Anything Mo Rocco is just fiiiiiine by me! Often imitated yet never duplicated! Mo's honest delivery has always been his forte. I just love the guy. I think most people either love him or hate him for the most part.. I tend to be the former! REAL Happy I stumbled across this podcast!

tamichawk84Wish tho was every weekLove this and wish it was every week because topics are so interesting. Mo does a great job of presenting people

Elisabeth AKGI wish Mo Rocca lived next doorI discovered the “Mobituaries” book first, then looked for the podcast. I have listened to the podcast every single day for more than three weeks now and have no intention of stopping until I hear every show. Good intelligent stuff, well-paced, and funny!

mrseddiemusclesNamesYour names episode is HIGHlarious! Very informative. I had my daughter in 2020 and what I came to notice is many girls were named after flora. My daughter’s name is Juniper. I’m aware of a couple other Junipers, Iris, Ivy, Lily, Poppy, Violet, and even Clementine were all names I heard in 2020. Love the show Maurice! Namaste.
-
Critic@largeWith a SmileInformative and very enjoyable. Always some surprises.
-
ricefredDon’t care about adsEspecially like the episodes with John McWhorter
-
pedrobmaloToo many ads!Good content made unlistenable by flow-breaking ads.
-
riprussellTop-heavy with AdsWhile Rocca’s articles are often interesting, I just listened to the latest episode about Marlena Dietrich. 12 minutes of content, and 13 minutes of mind– numbing, concentration– jarring, ill-placed ads. Thirteen minutes of ads and twelve minutes of content? Seriously?
-
InsertYetAnotherNicknameHereToo Many Ads Ruin the FlowThe new season of Mobituaries has way too many advertisements in it. Four minutes of adverts before Word One is spoken? And another four-minute hit later, along with a two-minutes later? Ten minutes of ads in a 30-minute show? No other podcast I’ve listened to has this much time set for advertisements, and I’m listening to hour-plus-long shows.
-
pabmMo & Mo advertisementsGreat stories interrupted by numerous drug salesmen
-
nkcreativeMarlene DitDietrich episode :-(I usually love this podcast, but this episode is filled with sooooo many advertisements that kept interrupting the show. There was not enough content!! I could NOT enjoy the podcast. Terrible. Terrible terrible.
-
postnutToo Many Ads!!I love this podcast and Mo’s style/story-telling but the ad to content ratio is ridiculous!
-
yogamamaOKCHalf of this show is ADS!!!Moe. Come on. Your storytelling is amazing but THESE ADS!! You’re backed by CBS, so don’t tell us you need this much revenue for a podcast. I’m unsubscribing because I feel like I’m being sold every soda and pharmaceutical under the sun and the stories are just blips in the endless stream of advertisements. What a joke.
-
VintageLPsOne of the Premier PodcastsMy third time listening to the Sammy Davis, Jr. episode tonight brought back wonderful memories of seeing his television performances and hearing his songs on the radio. What a brilliant man he was! Those were the days when performances on t.v. variety shows in the evening would erase the stresses of the world and you went to bed feeling happy. 🗣🎼
-
Easy BreatherAdvertising tobacco productsVery disappointed to hear three ads for Zyn on the Wishbone mobit. Mo you can be better and not promote an unregulated addictive tobacco product. Love the Pod, hate these ads.
-
ninaev400MobituariesI listened to this again because Wishbone was one of my very very favorite shows – and I was a grown adult watching it with my children! As a teacher and a lover of literature, I found it to be one of the finest shows ever on television – I wish there were more like it today. It certainly could replace some of the trash that our children are subjected to— that beautiful little dog was an influencer that I can get behind still! Thank you for giving us his background. No– Your podcast and your work is consistently excellent. I can’t wait for your new season.
-

StinaMasFinaThe BEST!Mo Rocca. Great name. Great voice. Great personality. Perfect for podcasting. The idea is awesome!! The execution of the idea is fantastic!! The topics are so amazing, varied and unexpected. Thank you so much for coming up with this, creating it and continuing to produce this podcast even when I’m about certain the show has ended forever. Keep going. I love this podcast and miss it when there’s a break. Thank you Mo and everyone.

klsivyhillEntertainment at it’s finestWhat a great show. So glad you are back. I look forward to every show you do! Thank you

MoriokaBoyHave your ad-skipping finger readyIt’s generally a really good and entertaining show, but just have your ad-skipping finger ready. YMMV, because podcasters can use all sorts of services to send different ads to different people nowadays. By my count, nearly 29% of this download was advertising (and I’m not counting the host hawking his book at the end). I counted 24 individual commercials in the download. Apparently, the bigwigs at iHeart and CBS think of podcasts like they think of TV shows… the more commercials the merrier. Not only were there 24 commercials, but several of them were repeated more than twice (including the one for a female sex-enhancer drug, a large national hardware retailer, a social media company, a prostate cancer drug and one which was so poorly produced that I couldn’t figure out what it was for). So enjoy the show, but don’t do so while washing dishes, or cleaning the cat’s box; you’ll want to have clean, dry fingers ready throughout the podcast, to skip through the ridiculous surfeit of annoying commercials.

-
HumanCannonballllFascinating and heart wrenchingMobituaries is a distilled version of everything I’ve ever loved about cbs Sunday mornings, npr’s this American life, and pbs documentaries. Like a more entertaining auditory Ken burns documentary with one of the all time great hosts in news media/comedy. One must be careful listening to this fascinating podcast as I’ve often found myself moved to tears by a banana or openly weeping as Rocca has you relive the trauma of beloved historical figures death. This isn’t a bad thing I promise. This podcast makes you think, laugh and FEEL.
-
hopethedogFun engaging listenHighly recommend, great stories, excellent production
-
CFleurielWonderfulI started listening recently, and I AM HOOKED! Not only am I listening, but I’ve told some other people about it. Some of the episodes I can relate to (Vaughan Meader, station wagon), but more importantly I am learning so much. I enjoy Mo’s presentation. Keep ‘em coming.
-
Gmaof6B3GBits of HistoryMo Rocca not only shares history stories but in Mobituaties he shares the stories of people, places, and even things that are too important to not know about. They are bits and pieces of real life, real people that have shaped life for all of us. We just didn’t know it. His stories are never dull, interspersed with actual recordings and first person accounts they open your mind and heart to wanting to know more. Thank you Mo and keep telling us these stories so they never die.
-
neem24Mortuaries with Mo RoccaAbsolute GOLD! Mo is a tremendous story teller and every subject is riveting! 5 stars isn’t enough.
