jstev171107 Improving dietary guidelinesThis was an absolutely stunning, shocking, comprehensive, and eye-opening discussion about the challenges regarding this issue. Thank you so much for sharing this information. I cannot wait to read Nina’s next book!

Sairah SvahteeGoing downhillRecent episode with Vinnie (Critical review of veganism) was to say the least weak. I expected more from Diet Doctor. Veganism is definitely misguided and some in the keto/carnivore space as well, nothing wrong w calling that out. But, it wasn’t much of a critique. Left me feeling like I had been duped by a click bait title. Do better.

leslieandelkyWorld class speakers on metabolic health diet and lifestyleHands-down the best podcast and the best website I’ve ever seen or listened to for metabolic health and insulin resistance and all things diet nutrition and healthy lifestyle. The speakers are world class, Fung Phinney Lustig Wessman Bikman and so many more world class researchers clinicians and professors. The list goes on. It is endless and I learn who to follow by listening to them. The website has the basics of how to have a healthy lifestyle and I highly recommend it as well.

Babser 100A favoriteDiet Dr. podcast is top notch. Such great information. Gary Taubes however is horrible to listen to.

BillNotWilliamExcellent podcastOne of my favorites in the nutrition space!
-
MelsplacGreat podcast!!I really enjoy this podcast. Dr Brett asks all the best questions and allows his guests to share their information and doesn’t talk over them like some hosts do. He is a cardiologist and so he knows his fair share, but has very interesting guests who provide good information and Dr. Brett clarifies if the information is more technical or dense.

JarnsaxaRisingGood VarietyGood variety with superior communicators. Evidence discussed is somewhat weighted with personal experience and observational studies. Would like more discussion about quality of evidence. One annoying aspect that keeps popping up here are the healthcare professionals who bash the medical school straw man for not providing adequate nutrition education. Medical School is designed to lay a foundation and introduce a breadth of important medical subjects for future study and specialization. Either the complainers slept though the lectures explaining this process, or they’re pandering to an anti-establishment, alternative “medicine” audience.

EricaBushwellAwesome podcast!Dr. Bret, host of the Diet Doctor Podcast, highlights all aspects of wellness and more in this can’t miss podcast! The host and expert guests offer insightful advice and information that is helpful to anyone that listens!
-
EradarymBalanced, informative interviews of relevant topicsBret Scher does a really great job of doing balanced, informative interviews. The topics are relevant to anyone who is trying to sift through complex and inconclusive diet and lifestyle science. Although Dr. Scher is a proponent of low carb, he seems completely receptive to exploring and probing competing perspectives - always with science and evidence at the forefront.
-
L&L PropertiesExcellent podcastDr Sher is simply one of the best medical podcasters out there. He is an excellent interviewer, he asks thoughtful questions, breaks down complicated information in a clearly understandable way and does a great job of circling back to key takeaways because, let’s face it, sometimes guests rush through their answers or get a little off topic. One of my top 3 for sure!

oliviabaker13Educational, engaging, and actionable! If you’re interested in the low carb lifestyle or simply looking to be more proactive about your health - this is a must-listen podcast for you! Dr. Bret is an excellent host and does fantastic job leading conversations with fellow doctors, journalists, researchers, and more. Each episode contains a wealth of health information and actionable tips. Highly recommend listening and subscribing!

🍕MINIONS🍕Good, butThis is the third time I’ve tried to listen to segments with tech issues, skipping throughout the podcast. It’s not listenable. I love your content and Dr Brett is a great interviewer. But, too many segments have tech problems. Please get your technical act together!

Ruffdog113Great podcast!!This is one of my favorite podcasts!! I can’t recommend this highly enough!!!

dpr063Just what the Doctor OrderedAnother great interview/conversation from Dr. Brett. Never disappoints with his choice of guest and the tact he makes to guide the conversation. He lets his guests answer the questions and then backs it up with more. Awesome work Dr. Brett with Dr. Kwadwo Kyeremanteng.
-
RRosemaryGAnchors my day!Agree with many others who speak to the exceptional quality of this podcast and Dr. Scher’s style, professionalism and humanity. I wish he did this daily -it brings together physicians, practitioners and researchers in one place, asks excellent questions and actively listens to guests to make the most valuable interactions for this platform. Thank you Dr. Scher!!
-
NDeanBest of the best.I listen to several podcasts on keto/carnivore/low carb as I exercise, but I always prefer Dr. Scher of Diet Doctor. He conducts the interviews with precision, shows he’s done his homework, has a dignified demeanor, and gets to the heart of the subject at hand. I’ve listened for years. You will always come away feeling you had a great podcast experience.

DexterFromPerfectMatchRefreshing contrast to commercial/product pushing diet industryDietdoctor has been a rock on my weight loss journey. Bret’s podcast has been great. Fascinating, satisfying amount of med depth as well as entertaining to listen to.
-
ElizabethGBThe BEST podcast! This is the BEST podcast. I have a PhD myself but medical language is a language of its own. Bret always breaks down / translates what the doctors are saying so that it's understandable to the layperson. He also asks the questions that I'm thinking and makes sure the information is applicable to daily life. He presents solid information. Production quality is high. I highly recommend! Thank you, Bret!

konaIFPlease be mindful of terminologyHi. Thank you for this podcast. I enjoyed the information presented by Ken Berry, MD. However, I was not impressed with his outdated and antiquated view of NPs (and PA’s). He referred to having “midlevels” as patients who, unsurprisingly, are on board with patient education, empowerment, and evidence based nutritional interventions. He should know better than to use this insulting term (another is physician extender) given he lives in Nashville, TN. I graduated from the NP/MSN program at Vanderbilt University in Nashville in 2002, and obtained national board certification as a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner. NPs are independent, autonomous licensed providers who assess, diagnose, and prescribe treatment within their specialty. NPs are not trained to provide “mid level” care. In fact, research shows NPs meet and exceed patient safety, satisfaction, and clinical care outcomes when compared with MD colleagues. Dr. Berry criticized his medical colleagues for mental laziness when it comes to relying on weak epidemiological research, but he clearly needs to update his thinking, familiarize himself with patient outcome studies, and read about the national movement occurring with the role of independent NP providers. I work as a licensed, independent provider at the VA. In his defense, the South has always lagged behind other parts of the country when it comes to accepting the NP role, many states still requiring collaborative practice agreements. I have always practiced independently as a Psychiatric NP in academic medical centers, jails, prisons, and community health centers in WA and CA. I also worked for over 10 years as an RN in palliative and oncology care. I integrate LCHF education and counseling into my care of patients with mental illness, in addition to prescribing medication. Sarah Lewis, NP, PMHNP-BC

AE PDXThis is the BEST health podcast of 2019Can't say enough about how well this podcast is produced and all the valuable information that is provided to listeners. Kudos.
-
Johnny 60Thanks BrettYou’re shows have inspired me and they keep me motivated. You are the best interviewer - great questions and engagement AND you let your guests finish making their points. I’ve listened to most of your shows twice because they are so information rich. I’m quite interested in the topic of reversing plaque buildup if the opportunity arises. Thanks for all of hard work.
-
JungfraudocAs a fellow physician this is a fabulous podcast!I can refer my colleagues AND patients here for good evidence based issues, questions and interviewees. Thanks Brett for really bringing LCHF into the limelight in a professional and enjoyable way!
-
wilmabutfitnGreat interviewsDr Brett asks questions that I to which I would like the answers. He has interesting guests and draws out as much good information as can be obtained. I just listened to Robb Wolf on Diet Doctor. It was such a good interview that I thought I would subscribe to his podcast. Too many of Robb’s reviews brought up his foul language so I didn’t subscribe. This is never a concern on this podcast. I salute you, Doctor, for keeping it clean and intelligent throughout. Five stars are not enough.
-
Dandrews47Excellent podcastI’m new to the Keto world and feel so fortunate to have found this podcast and Dr Scher’s prior podcast. Really solid evidence based information that has made a believer out of me. I’ve recommended this to others who are just starting to look at LC/Keto and feel safe in directing them to this podcast.

Brian G./Orange CountyGreat Doc with a Outstanding PodcastThis is an outstanding podcast, and a great addition to the tremendous low-carb resources of Dietdoctor.com. Dr. Scher is a brilliant cardiologist who knows how to do in-depth but engaging interviews with the world's top low-carb luminaries. What always comes across is his genuine curioisity about this developing science, his willingness to explore it no matter where the answers may lead, and his receptiveness to contrary arguments. This is the mark of an excellent scientist. Our poor state of nutritional data and recommendations wouldn't be where it is today if others shared this objective approach. Dr. Scher is also a practicing cardiologist with an office in San Diego, California. He treats people in that office and also has a separate online consultation practice. I'm honored to be one of his patients.

Julesrn33Love this podcast!!Please prep your guests to limit use of acronyms 😊

Kriista in CAWelcome to my library!Thank you for this podcast! I just listened to the first episode and loved the tone, no hype, just quality content. I’ve been looking fir a keto podcast that was dense with info and free of self-aggrandizement. You walked that quality line beautifully. I’ll be listening to every episode.
-
SurenderAireddyVery Nice to Start this Podcast with Gary TaubesVery good start this first podcast with Gary Taubes. He wrote 3 books in details to understand impact of Sugar. 1) Why We Get Fat and What To Do About It. 2) The Case Against Sugar. 3) Good Calories and Bad Calories. I was watching Weekly podcast Doctors Farmacy by Mark Hyman. It is excellent source of scientific information about how to be healthy. I watched one of the episodes by Gary Taubes. Thank you for bringing awareness of health to public, I hope one fine day no one left with Diabetes and Obesity epidemic.
