Matt - ColoradoThought Provoking!Intelligent and thought provoking conversations. I am loving learning all about stoicism and how I can connect with it. Thank you for sharing!

Milfodostriving to be virtuousevery day is one foot in front of the other. The daily stoic podcast and in particular todays q & a was helpful.

Joe, Master-reviewer🤷🏼👍His politics are a steaming pile of garbage, but he has wonderful advice for anyone interested in listening. I think he just listens to too much msnbc.
-
ttrepa210/10 RecommendGreat listen for daily grounding and mindset boosts.

OddSoul78Being judged for political opinions? It seems the issues being taken by certain listeners are not a flaw in the author’s strength or reliability as a stoic, but rather that of the listener who is unable to hear an opinion that differs from their own. Lots of butt hurt 1 and 2 star reviewers the past several months from folks who have no issue “trumping” this podcaster with a poor review after receiving so much good, consistent and free content. I don’t say this from a place of loyalty to this podcast. It’s just an observation. Eat the hay. Spit out the sticks. Be an adult.

PASouthernWisdom and EncouragementI appreciate the daily dose of stoic philosophy in an easily digestible style. It really helps keep me focused on what matters.

Sal in ConnecticutToo political and disingenuousFunny. I was considering following Ryan’s podcast again. Then I saw reviews describing Ryan’s political slant, because last summer I stopped following/listening to Ryan when he remarked about someone that he clearly disliked politically. When I heard it, it really looked disingenuous considering his stoicism “advice”. I got the impression that it was a “do as I say, and not as I do” posture. I listen to another stoic podcast that focuses on how to approach events in life using stoic philosophy.

ChrisE511Important as everThe message of stoicism is as important now as ever. We now no more than the ancients, but have forgotten everything they knew. Stoicism has helped me so much in the last few years to just be a better person. Ryan never claims to be perfect , but he brings this information to an audience in a way that relates to right now. The guests are always insightful and from varied backgrounds,

Philosophy PaisaNot surprised Ryan now has a great podcast!Great to find a new place to listen to Ryan’s content.

Listener19856Good stoic messages, wish the messenger was betterRyan provides excellent access to stoicism which I truly do appreciate. Through brief podcasts, emails, and tweets, he’s able to make the main messages of stoicism accessible to everyone. However, he’s gotten political lately. Admittedly, he espouses politics that aren’t mine. I enjoy the stoic messages but not when he uses it to apply it to send a political message. He hides behind stoicism and uses it to make a political point. It’s frustrating because he doesn’t claim to be political, but he very clearly makes political points for one side. He will take a stoic “virtue” and use current politics as an example, however it always is used to attack one side. He doesn’t claim to be the perfect sage and it’s clear since he can’t keep his opinion to himself

Data Entry Day JobWonderful WisdomThe content Ryan Holiday has been putting out into the world lately is some of the best and most helpful I’ve encountered. His ability to teach stoicism in a modern context is second to none. He provides actionable advice and down to earth perspective without sugar coating or suggesting apathy. He is the real deal. I hope to make it to the Painted Porch someday just to thank him in person. His wisdom has led me through tough decisions and helped me process the world around me with clarity and perspective.

Addicted to…Next Four Years…Excellent and inspiring talk, just exactly what I needed to hear on this day. Thank you! I will be seeking it out again on my darker days ahead and sharing it with those who will be inspired by it as well.

CMUstud23Racist, fear mongererRyan is as anti American a as they come and projects his Teri be racist homophobic fear mongering views through his show. Avoid this dude at all costs!
-
SFLatinoStarting to get too political.Unfortunately getting too political. Really dempens the vibe.
-
TampabucsFSUBadJust awful.
-
jsmillerslpIt’s alright. Becoming political. It’s a shame because what’s on here is pretty good stuff. But like all rich and somewhat famous, the host thinks everyone will care about his political views. Was fine until the election, but geez enough already. We know who he likes and doesn’t like. He could have said it once, but he continues to drop it in every other episode. Boring. I don’t even like my own opinion shoved down my face.
-
AndiobeAlways excellentWhether short or long, nuggets of wisdom or insightful interviews, Ryan Holiday delivers. Thank you.
-
Ajay 13579Love itRyan Holiday is my religion
-
GeoplanterMcConaugheyI know that on Ryan’s road to enlightenment, he likes to rub elbows with celebs like Matthew McConaughey. As for me, I could care less…
-
Disappointed1234oiFauciThe preface he gives says it all before he interviews a real monster. Ryan’s value is in his books, not this medium. I’ll still listen from time to time, but …yikes.
-
rambo 5001Goodbye RyanHeartbreaking, I’ve so enjoyed your podcasts. At some point you have to wake up
-
Miss Kay JayA blessingLove the philosophy, love how you translate it for practical day-to-day life use. A blessing. Thank you.
-
Shelly2417One embedded ad after anotherMost episodes start as an important stoic concept, but then Ryan drills down on his book, class, etc. a 12 minute podcast was 7 minutes about his master class, and ended with “I’m not trying to sell anything. I get about 5 Daily Stoic podcasts a week. The don’t mind normal ads, but these embedded pleas are overwhelming the potential good work Ryan COULD be doing.
-
Yoyomama99That’s it.He’s became delusional. On the Why We Don’t Change episode Ryan went too far and showed he has poor judgment. He could not keep politics out of it and showed to be an apologist for Biden who is and will be remembered as one of the worst even if Ryan can’t change. Unfollow.

cullenwalshAmazing podcastThis podcast is changing how I go through life. Truly an amazing pod!
-
thatjpwingThis is the oneThis is the one podcast I listen to on a regular basis. This experience has been life changing for me. The interviews, the talks, all of this content is helping me find the path I have been seeking for decades. Highly recommended. I hope to shake Ryan’s hand someday and say ‘thank you’.
-
Big Red FitzThis podcast found me at the perfect time!I’ve had this feeling, as of late, that I needed MORE in my life. Something beyond the definition of who I am. Father, husband, leader, mentor, overseer …. and I truly feel like I’ve started to find a part of that with The Daily Stoic. The more I listen to this podcast the more I feel it having an impact on me.
-
SquindifilusMonchTriggered Trumpers!Uhh, news flash. Stoicism originated from highly political thinkers practicing in highly political settings. If you get triggered by discussion around actual applications of Stoicism, and counterexamples in modern day leadership.. maybe you aren’t a real Stoic. Why not sit back and learn a bit from the modern day Nero we have today.
-
lonelyRoadNovember 23rd - Donald RobertsonThe November 23rd episode with Donald Robertson is just fantastic. I love listening to people who are so freaking bright. How he weaves Cognitive Behavioral Therapy into the discussion on Stoicism and Socrates is fascinating! Love it!
-
1009926144189363uuOofIf you, too, need daily advice from a Silverlake-to-Austin former American Apparel executive, you’ve come to the right place! All sarcasm aside, the show hit new levels after the 2024 Trump election. Ryan abandoned all pretense of even pretending to know stoicism and the show is mostly now childlike tantrums and snark at more than half of his listeners. 1 star for actual stoic content, 5 for ironic self-masturbatory ridiculousness!!
-
Goood PotatooAvoid politics. Stick to philosophyI like this podcast, but I disliked the comments about politics before the election. Please stick to philosophy; this is why people listen to you.
-
RenaissancegirlNYCThe daily stoic with Ken burnsHighly recommend this episode especially during these uncertain times.
-
Mattlucas75Listen every dayI begin each day by listening to this podcast which helps ground me with intent and purpose before the barrage of news, emails, meetings, etc. Every episode offers something interesting and useful whether you care about Stoicism or not.
-
Veganchick81We need this now. This is a great podcast. We need it in these times, it is very relevant.

si34321234577785Ryan’s interview with Adam KinzingerIf you do not know the amazing history of the Republican Party you should listen to this podcast. Really listen. What Adam Kinzinger and Ryan Holiday talk about is the exact reason I stay republican. I may not agree with what republicans are doing now but I believe in the values they used to have and the values I grew up with. I hope you will each take a moment to listen to this.

heberchrisLove the books, hate this podcastDecided to give this a try after really enjoying the books but the podcast is really a waste of time. The straw for me was the episode “worst advice on the internet” where Ryan decided to use Stoicism to go after people on the right who are much more successful than Ryan and whom he clearly has a beef with. Very stoic, indeed. Unsubscribe.
-
CnalohaTurn the tables episodeAs someone who loves to read/ write since childhood, appreciated this conversation immensely!
-
WilDevineUseful despite host frequently plugging his booksHighly useful content, I listen daily. My main critique for Mr. Holiday is for him to consider pulling back a little on plugging his books and other wares. Secondary to this, sometimes I cannot relate when he gets into the difficulties of a celebrity. I love this show and recommend it to anyone and everyone, Nobody is perfect; this show is excellent and worth listening to daily. Mr. Holiday, if you have a chance to read this, know that your audience loves you, and we listen daily, so relax on your books; they will sell themselves I promise.
-
Sc.7Not a stoicLook I get this guy has to make money but jeez all he does is try to sell you on everything every single episode. Also just repeats the same stuff over and over again not a ton of new knowledge coming from him. Lastly he hates trump and I truly don’t see how someone who studies Marcus and Seneca but also is a liberal who believes in the stupid policies of the left. You can tell he thinks he is smarter than everyone else.
-
LNGSBAlways worth itFan of Ryan for a long time and always get some valuable insights from his shows. Keep it up my man

RABKOOLThe Barn: Wright ThompsonI couldn’t get enough of Wright Thompson and Ryan Holiday talking about this new book “The Barn”, that Thompson has written. Thompsons voice just holds you for parts 1 & 2. The subject matter while known to me and the thought of what happened to this young boy and his family and country has made me sad and angered me for years that I have avoided knowing anymore than necessary, meaning I know it happened. Not anymore!!! I’m getting it for myself and others. I’ll keep on practicing Stoicism and keep increasing my reading of history in this country on the recommendation of these two authors and Human Beings. I’ll keep on listening and reading the Daily Stoic because my mind is my “prize possession” and I’m not serving it up to the mental virus that infected so many people for so many years . Rusty
-
BnkippNot enough of the guestI’ve read Ryan’s articles and listen to several episodes. Ryan just talks too much and sometimes at the expense of the guest and honestly he obfuscates a fairly simple discussion or idea to the point I’m pretty sure he doesn’t even know what he’s trying to say. I revisited the show because Timm C was a guest and we barely heard from him!
-
Betty HaynesEssential Daily WisdomThis show is my favorite daily podcast, with essential wisdom gifted in short daily episodes and long-form interviews. I feel my heart expand, my breath drop, and my shoulders relax as I learn from the hard-fought and hard-won wisdom of the Stoics, both ancient and modern. I have learned so much, and have loved Ryan Holiday’s books. I feel changed for the better thanks to learning this philosophy and I try to use its lessons every day to lead a better life. Highly recommend.
-
mdyd16Great content, too much salesI know you have to sell your own product.. but sometimes it’s too much. Seems almost prideful... Other than that, love all the books and podcasts.
-
Susan DellaThank you !I have inadvertently been living a fairly stoic mindset, but did not know it until I was introduced to your work by my sister that is a Philosophy professor. It has been very fun to hear all that your share. Your work has helped me fill in some gaps of thought and add to the ways I operate in a better mode. I have all of your books in my audio library, I’m just not sure which one to read first. Your interview with Francis Ford Coppola was great. So was The Stoic Athlete! Thank you for your honesty and all that you do. I have and will continue to recommend your podcast to many. Susan
-
MismastersWeirdI’ve listened to quite a few of his podcasts- but the Amanda Knox podcast is obnoxious. She and Ryan dragging Trump into her being judged and falsely imprisoned is bizarre…..rules for thee, not for me. And NOT Stoic.
-
D-grrAn eryday must!Thank you Ryan!
-
KungFooButchProfound and ProlificRyan’s daily podcast on Stoicism and tangential philosophies and topics is very well done. He brings clarity to things that are worth thinking about every day.
-
ThibodeauPerfect way to start your dayLove this podcast and the daily wisdom that Ryan shares. The things you will learn have the power to transform your life and those around you. Thank you, Ryan for putting so much care and attention into your work. Also, the Francis Ford Coppola interview was absolutely incredible. Gem of a human being.
-
SweetiaGood way to start the dayWhen I drive my kids to school we listen to The Daily Stoic…There are days when I feel there is a camera following me and the daily stoic message matches to my needs for that day. I know that it is a win - when my oldest mocks me and tells me “they know” because they too heard the message I am reciting from the the recent podcast episode. If you are looking to a litmus test on how you are living your life…I highly recommend listening. It just good practical advice on how to be a decent human! Thanks Ryan and team for all that you do!
