Marilyn CannonLove this podcast! There are lessons in every discussion!John and Dan complement each other with two different perspectives on various topics. There’s always a few takeaways which leaves you wanting more. You don’t have to participate in Jiu Jitsu so enjoy these tidbits. There are actually some very interesting lessons on perseverance, performance and just being a decent person.

Figit5Jiu Jitsu & MoreJohn & Dan are hitting their stride. I’m enjoying their thoughtful jiu jitsu discussions, as well as how they relate it to “real life”. They have a good banter. The aquarium discussions were surprisingly entertaining. I’m looking forward to more of the jiu jitsu talk, as well as the unexpected detours.

its_jontThoughtful PodcastI was a guest on the podcast and it was unequivocally my favorite appearance. John and Dan were genuinely interested in my story and asked great questions. One hour felt like ten minutes, but maybe that’s because I never shut up. Regardless, I was impressed. Definitely take a listen and visit Connors MMA whenever you’re in the area.

Mike Schultz 481An Enjoyable Listening ExperienceI’ve really enjoyed hearing the stories of my fellow academy members and I especially appreciate Dan’s endorsement of the evolution of western toilet culture. I also enjoy the texture and fit(medium) of the academy’s T shirts. With so many podcasts out there this is one of the few I always tune into. Keep up the good work, gentlemen. 👍🏽

NcgdmdudneydnSolid PodcastI love learning about BJJ but sometimes I feel like it doesn’t have a ton of application to other areas of my life. So I jump back and for between BJJ podcasts and others. This one podcast I don’t feel the need to do that. The lessons and topics are universal and high level. John and Dan are very intelligent and articulate, I’ll be listening for a long time. Beth AmisPower of the TribeThe Connors MMA Podcast series is top-rate! Through following the series, my life has changed for the better! Here’s how: Early on in the series, John Connors challenged listeners to set fitness goals (see episode 1). Being new to the sport of BJJ, I had only attended technical classes up to that point, and had never “rolled” with a partner or competed in a tournament. In follow-up to John’s challenge, I set SMART goals – to start rolling by August and to compete in my first tournament in October. With support from the Connors tribe and its coaches, I “prepared right and completed right” (see episode 25). Overall, the entire experience was a formidable one – from setting my goals, working through steps to prepare, to the day of the tournament! Along the way, I set a goal to lose weight so that I could register for the tournament in a particular division. Listening to the podcast offered tangible help with that, as using John’s mantra “That is not food to me” made a significant impact in my approach to food. I have successfully lost over 25 pounds since relying on that philosophy. (It was actually pretty easy to say NO to cookies and baked goods over the holidays since “they are not food to me.”) I recommend the Power of the Tribe podcast series without reservation – from the practical guidance and inspiring stories shared, to the witty banter, humor and general entertainment it provides, it’s always a good investment in time! I especially appreciate the references John brings from other disciplines such as literature and science, and I enjoy hearing about Dan Robin’s adventures and travels! Give it a try – you won’t be disappointed!

john b-oe4TribeWell formatted. Preparation was evident. Great interaction between cohosts........1/2/19, ........not wanting to get singled out i have pre-empted you guys with a review!!!!!!......good way to start the year with some light, relative banter. Your descriptions of combat sports are so thought out it gives the lure of temptation to others that are considering a try on the mat.
