    Talented voice
The creator -who voices the main character - truly makes this story great. She’s good. Compared to a lot of these kinds of podcasts she sounds like a pro actress. Maybe she is one I don’t know but this podcast is her unfunded creation. For making and publishing this thing completely on her own - it’s all very impressive. Her voice is uniquely easy to listen to in tone as well. What I mean is that there is nothing high pitched, screechy or stressful about it. Which is unfortunately kind of rare when it comes to female voices in the fiction podcast world. I don’t personally connect with the character but that’s just me. I know there are tons of people out there who will definitely connect with her and for whom she will feel familiar. The story is interesting enough to pull you in for the most part. You won’t regret giving it a listen for sure. There are a couple of ways the character handles what’s happening that make zero sense to me like the way she doesn’t utilize the internet while she still has it even though she knows that she only has so long before it will no longer be an option. Or the way she realizes that the whole world has pets locked inside houses who will starve to death unless she at the very least let’s them or or even better takes them home or starts feeding them. Then she proceeds to have zero sense of urgency about it and wanders around for half a day only rescuing five of them. That was frustrating to listen to but hey- it’s not like I think the world is made up of people who think and feel exactly the same way I do- and that’s ok. So..yeah. Anyways. This is a well made little independent production. High five creator!

    Fantastic storytelling
Someone somewhere on the internet mentioned Gone and I'm grateful to whoever that was. The story is chilling and dark and hard and...so very well done. It's thought-provoking and entertaining. Highly recommend

    It’s back!
I listened to season 1 in high school. By the time the 2019 update post came and went I was convinced this series would never come back. And I thought that was a shame because this was such an interesting concept to explore. Lo and behold, 5 years later an update finally arrived. I’m definitely going to go back and listen to season 1 again for context! Can’t wait to hear season 2!

    Not alone
The writing and speech explains my heart better than I ever could. Please don’t ever stop sharing content Edit/update: (Season 2, Ep 9) no spoilers but Holy Wow! There was a point where I literally gasped and dropped my bodega Prosecco (bc I’m fine. I Promise.) and realized I have to go back and listen to everything again, just like with a favorite movie you want to go back and see nuance you totally missed the first time. Just brilliant. And still so beautiful. 🖤💜🤯🙏

    Extremely compelling!
If you’re into science-fiction/horror check out this one-woman podcast. The narrator wakes up one morning to discover that she’s the only person left in the world. From then on the mysteries only pile up. In each episode she describes more about her new life as well as revealing her inner trials and weaknesses. “Gone” is a remarkable story about an ordinary woman in a remarkable situation. The voice acting is spot-on. I was captured from the first minutes. I listen to each episode during my 3x weekly bicycle rides and now i can’t wait for the next ride so I can listen to the next chapter.

    Compelling, well produced, original
This is a fictional, journal-type, post-disaster(?) podcast. It is produced completely independently by the writer/actor/producer/host. The solo world that she creates is a truly creative use of the podcast form. It is acted naturalistically and the main character starts to feel like a friend as time passes over the episodes. Production values are high (wondering if she works in audio?) It’s wonderful to find such a unique podcast that is truly one person’s expression of her art and vision.

    Interesting
I was enjoying this when i got to episode 18 bonus and for some reason the author started explaining some major plot points. So skip that episode if you’re enjoying this.

    Interlude noise awful
The story telling is great. I can’t stand the interludes - the static/squealing is completely awful.

    Haunting, captivating listen
A phenomenal sci fi concept rooted, as all the best sci fi is, in an examination of human relationships and society. Great voice acting, sound engineering, and storyline. Very curious to see how a second season might turn out, since this is an impressive podcast debut. One of the few podcasts I’ve listened to more than once.

    Where’s the ending?
Great story but there’s no ending so what’s the point? I hate it when podcasts do this...

Edge of your chair kind of podcast
I absolutely love this podcast! I have never, until this particular podcast, actually listened to sci-fi, let alone any fiction podcast in my life. So, you might take my review with a grain of salt, but I assure you, you shall be entertained!

    Excellent writing and voice portrayal...
This is one of the most interesting podcasts that I’ve listened to. Atmospheric and creepy, thought provoking with enough cerebral content to make you really think. I hope the writer/creator is doing well, both on her dissertation and in life.

I enjoyed the Podcast definitely worth a listen

    I’m not sure
Not that I’m not sure if I like it or not because I do. What I’m not sure about is what’s happening and I’m sure I’m going to have to revise my theory about what’s going on. I just listened to the part about needing psychoactive meds in a zombie apocalypse and I’ve thought about the same sort of thing- meds and pets.

5 Stars-1 Star for not finishing...
5 stars for being a great story and the production quality minus 1 for not finishing the story. It should actually be minus 3 or 4 stars...There’s no freaking ending! It is maybe the best horror podcast story. But so what? And the many tales of: “it’ll be back soon but first I...” Then nothing for weeks, then months, and now years! This is exactly why I won’t send money. They never finish the stories. How about this deal between podcast and listeners~ If it’s a 3 year project put out 2 years free and charge for the last finished year. If it’s this good I’ll pay a plenty fair amount...More than twice the price of a theatre movie or novel! Deal?

    Great audio drama
It’s hard to find something that catches my attention but, this is pretty good so far and hope to hear more. Great voice acting and storyline!
  • aeros88
It’s good but has it’s flaws
The story is pretty interesting and I like the first person narration. As the story goes on, it gets a little more confusing and the narrator is mostly complaining or at least it seems as much. Maybe I just need to give it a second listen but I had a tough time getting through most of the newest episodes. The in between episodes (filled with static and radio noise) are mixed pretty unevenly. The noise is overpowering the narration and just going with white noise would’ve sounded more natural with the volume of the narrator fluctuating to give it a weak signal effect. The added radio whine is too much and is on a loop which is too distracting IMO.

So much for a single creator!
I am enjoying this podcast immensely. I have so many ideas and theories about what is going on and I can’t wait to find out what’s correct and what’s not. :) good job!

    Existential lesbians!!!
So much of horror fiction, especially narrated like this, is male driven or driven by straight people. It’s wonderful to see people like me making stories like this, in a genre I love so much. The story is good, chilling and hooks you in right from the first episode. I’m definitely looking forward to more.

There is no better post-apocalyptic audio drama
There are an insane glut of post-apocalyptic audio dramas (We’re Alive, Earth Break, The Walk, Adventures in New America, The Phenomenon, Empty, Blackout, Mercury: A Broadcast of Hope). Many of them are good or fine, some of them are great, but it is fair to say it’s well-worn territory by now. And why wouldn’t it be? It’s a great setup! The post-apocalypse genre is our modern day western. And there are so many ways to do it. But Gone? Gone is the best of them. It’s technically a post-rapture story, but the familiar hallmarks are there. How to survive, how the environment has changed, what was the cause, are there others like me, plus there’s the found footage aspect. What separates Gone from the pack is the level of intimacy it manages with its central character. What separates Gone from others is that it’s central performance is genuinely strong enough to overcome the fact that the lead is mainly in dialogue with themselves. That is writing uphill when you make yourself a situation where there’s no one else to talk to, but it’s a challenge creator/writer/producer/lead Sunny Moraine is more than a match for. Many shows may start out with a lead only talking to themselves but will almost inevitably branch out to include more characters out of necessity. To keep the writing fresh. Instead, Gone just finds new and more profound ways to zoom in further and further on its lead, and it’s never a dull ride. There are few better stories about isolation anywhere in any medium. This show sets itself a high bar and it continues to reach and exceed it. It’s quality programming and it’s well worth your time. Dive in already.

    Love it
Great story and great audio, except the occasional ear-splitting parts that are hard to listen to. Remember we’re in headphones!! Love the narration and story arc.

I didn’t expect to love this podcast as much as I do. The first three episodes were a little shaky to me but the interludes and underlying plot kept me interested. I’m so glad I stuck around. For a one person show, ‘Gone’ holds up incredibly well with thoughtful, minimalist sound design and stream of consciousness narration. It’s hard to find natural and well written LGBTQA podcasts but ‘Gone’ gets me in all the right places. A beautifully subtle horror story that acknowledges queer romance, mental health, medications, and human indecision with respect. I’m so excited for Season 2, and I appreciate that the creator is upfront about delays while remaining passionate about this project. I’ll likely be relistening to the entire series shortly. But also y’all where is that fanfic

    Are you alone?
“Gone” shows how much can be accomplished with one person and a microphone. The finished first season explores the idea of not only what a person might do in the event of a “rapture-style event”, but what a person might do if every choice they made didn’t matter. Each episode leaves you a little more intrigued, a little more lost alongside the protagonist; Some moments may even have you scanning your room at midnight, hoping to find no one there. A truly intelligence, psychological science fiction mystery...with a smidgen of the unexpected. Look forward to Season 2!

    Great Execution!
The narrator is exemplary! Their acting, emotional investment - top notch! And when I listened to the update where they explained they didn't script the lines, just used notes: WHAT!? Amazing!

    I'm so hooked
I checked this out on a whim.... I am currently binging!! It is REALLY REALLY gripping... Thanks-- Seriously AWESOME podcast
  • House of Labrys
    This is gripping
And I didn’t expect that going in. Only started episode one on the random off chance I find a hidden gem...I did and it is. As a one voice drama I was initially worried but she has such a soothing to delicate to real sounding voice. This is not someone reading a story in front of her but like she is experiencing these events personally in the moment or recounting something that just happened. Please listen and you will enjoy it.

This is a really interesting story. The author/narrator/producer is really creative!

    Great indie audio drama
Really good quality sound. Amazing that it’s one person doing it all. A lot of audio dramas have such large staffs and don’t sound half as good as this one does. Thanks for the entertainment on long drives.
