If you’re serious about becoming a better comic, this show will give you all the goods. I’ve gotten so much out of it and you will too. The episodes are long, but still worth the time.

    Unquestionably Spectacular
Stop right here. You’ve found it. That’s right, this is by far the best in-depth comedy podcast you will get hooked on. Jeff and Harrison along with their guests go deep into comedy exploration. This isn’t just some clips and bits show. These two comedians geek out on all aspects of comedic performance and never shy away from a topic no matter how aloof or how intense it may be. As I began exploring comedy and podcasting I just wanted someone to teach me a little something so that I had some idea where to start. These two did far more than that just by producing this show. I’ve never even met them, but I hope to someday. The inspiration is real.

    Navel-gazing — in good way
Harrison, Jeff and their guests get into the guts of how and why comedy works in ways that I haven’t heard any other podcast touch. I’ve been bingeing the back catalog, and I’ll be sad when I get back to the beginning and have to wait for their new episodes.

    Love it!
Just discovered it listening to the Mark Normand episode first, and as an amateur comedian 5 years in, this show is perfect for breaking down comedy and how to get better.
  • PDiddy329

Inside look at the behind the scenes of standup comedy. In honor of you getting back from burning man I gift to you this 5star review.

    So helpful!
I absolutely love this podcast. I just started doing standup a little over a month ago and the episode on Joke Writing theory has absolutely changed the way I write.

    FDA approved grade A pod
Dive into the deep-end and explore the philosophies, mechanics, and anecdotal evidence presented by working comics at different levels of the game. I thought this podcast might come off as too “inside-baseball” for the laymen, but Jeff and Harrison make the craft of joke writing and performing accessible to everyone. And they get great guests!

    The Best Comedy Podcast Ever!
I was struggling with my joke writing, and about to throw in the towel. Luckily for me another open mic comic told me about this podcast, and my sets have been going great ever since! If I had money to give you guys I would, but for now I’m gonna keep spreading the word of this podcast to other comedians! Thank you guys you have helped me so much!

    #1 inside baseball standup podcast
Better than the other similar podcast put out by the carrion-eating bird company. I’ve listened to all the episodes. They started off a little rough but have found their way. For new listeners, I suggest to start listening with the newest episode, then go back and listen to every episode from Mark Normand on, and if you want more, then start at the beginning.

A phenomenal show, well worth a listen for anyone looking to improve at standup
Thank you Jeff and Harrison for an amazing show. You guys have made something really special.

    Hilarious!!!
It’s so cool to understand the minds of comedians. As a causal fan of stand up, I didn’t realize how much work goes into a comedy set. This is a really enlightening (and funny) podcast.

    ACTUAL COMEDY KNOWLEDGE
This show is actually really great for real world comedy knowledge. They ask headliners questions that we're all thinking! Love it! Deepu
  • MicahGB
The right mix of knowledge and sillyness
Jeff and Harrison have a great analytical minds but more importantly a great rapport. I've heard many attempts at a similar comedy breakdown podcast by hosts that lacked the charisma and the shows were so boring. Lucky that's not the case here and they carry the show well no matter who the guest is. Though don't get me wrong they also have a lot of good guests.
  • Rufat Music
    Great!
This podcast is soo needed for anyone pursuing comedy or just an avid fan of it. Any creative can listen to this podcast and learn ways to refine their craft. Harrison sooo hot!

    Must listen
As a young comic, this podcast is invaluable. The guests are legit pros, and Jeff and Harrison are good interviewers who both have raging boners for stand up comedy. I love this podcast and have had it on repeat the last 4 days.

A podcast for comedians (and other people too)
Seriously so good. Aside from being super funny, entertaining, etc, this show almost works as a sort of stand-up comedy theory course as well. I’ve been doing stand-up since 2008, but every episode, I am given revelation, after epiphany, after lightbulb moment concerning the craft. It’s so fun to listen to every comedian’s perspective and insight into how stand-up works, and then the overarching theme of just how important it is to let your true self show up on stage. I highly recommend this podcast to comedians just starting out, or at any level honestly. Or even if you don’t do stand-up and just like it, this is a peek behind the curtain for comedy nerds at any level. Way to go guys, keep it up!
  • DBozzy91
    Worth the listen
This is a great pod to listen to if you are a comedian who wants to be better or just a fan of comedy that wants to nerd out. 5 stahhs.

Don't have to be a comic to kick it
If you're scrolling through podcasts to check out and you pass on this one because you are no an aspiring comedian, you're well... a total loser. And you're missing out. Great backstage pass into the world of standup for the comic inside each one of us. I'm not in the biz but I still enjoy the insight Jeff and Harrison provide and have learned a lot about some of the comics I enjoy, including them. Keep it up boys.
  • Phill327
    Funny, engaging
Keep up the work boys. Have listened to every episode. Great guests, excited for the next one.

Essential Listening for New and Working Comedians
I'm a comic who just moved to New York, and this podcast has been essential to my progress and enjoyment of the craft. They're awesome.
  • Lemony Snickett
    Simply a revelation!
Jeff and Harrison are quite the dynamic duo! I remember I had quite the tryst with the two of them after the premiere of the film Drive(2011). It was torrid and passionate filled with magiks more ancient Gilgamesh's Sumeria! Back then Harrison had a body like on of those underage boys in a Tommy Hilfiger underwear ad, and Jeff had hair! So anytime I listen them dissect comedy with the accuracy of that guy from Nip Tuck(although I preferred that actor on Charmed HE PLAYED A DEMON) I'm reminded of those fleeting memories of nights where love hung in a thick haze throughout The Valley. GREAT POD 5 STARS!
  • Phastie321
    Cool podcast!
This show is fun! It's good if you love all the inside baseball of stand up comedy! Jeff and Harrison do a great job of getting fun and funny out of their guests!

Comedy - The Science, The Magic
I love this; the casual, relaxed format of a podcast is such a great format for analyzing stand-up comedy. It just sounds like a fun conversation you might have with your friends in a bar!
  • Aleksandr Karjaka
    Brilliant!
So I listen to tons of podcasts to pass the time at the shop, Jeff and Harrison not only kept me rolling on the floor, but the breakdown of different comics, in a word priceless. I've always wondered why certain bits land with certain comics and their approach. These guys dissect it to a tee and infuse their own hilarity through the process! Freaking awesome!
  • sbuch0
    Great Comedy Pod!
Nothing else like it! You get to hear great comedy bits and the stories behind their inspiration.
  • Faceb4julie
    So raw and wonderful!
Jeff and Harrison do a great job unraveling the mystery around stand-up comedy. They are honest, humble and funny. A great podcast that introduces you to the NYC comedy scene and invites you to hear about the inner workings of two funny stand-up comedians.

    Fantastic Armchair Science (of Comedy)
Jeff and Harrison are like that inspirational high school science teacher who brought liquid nitrogen into class one day. That teacher didn't need to be a Nobel prize winner, and you didn't need to become a scientist. The class was meaningful because that teacher instilled in you a sense of wonder and playfulness about how the world works. Well, you can enjoy this podcast just like you enjoyed your science class, even though Jeff and Harrison don't have hour long specials (yet) and you don't have plans to quit your real job. They will be your guides in the discovery of the mechanics of comedy. And in case you're afraid that knowing how the comedian makes you laugh will ruin the fun, don't be. Having an appreciation of the skill and work that goes into crafting a set doesn't ruin the fun of being in the audience any more than knowing liquid nitrogen is cold ruins the fun of making a flower shatter like glass.
  • AricTudor
    Way to go, you two!
It's great to hear about the bits n' pieces of comedy that make it comical! Love geeking out with a couple of fellas who are down in the trenches. Thank you for this!
