KwfaulkenberryGood stuff!I’m doing this backward, as I came to this show after listening to Matt and Scott’s Kingslingers podcast, but I knew I could expect nothing but greatness. Their insights and speculations are always a joy to hear, no matter the subject. I can’t wait for their new project Flanagan’s Wake

doppbloopObsessed with this podcast!I read Worm back in the day but recently discovered this podcast and have been binging it ever since! Matt and Scott are incredible hosts with great chemistry that keeps me coming back day after day. I’ve found their literary discussion of Worm both heartwarming (b/c it’s an amazing work of art and very deserving of the respect they give it) and insightful! This podcast is a must-listen addition to the worm universe. Thanks y’all!

JoeManGuy23Amazing podcastAs I was reading Worm I checked to see if there were any podcasts out there, and I am so glad this was here. At the end of every Arc I excitedly booted up my podcast app to get a professional and elaborate recap for things I missed especially relating to the writing style itself. I am super appreciative of all the hard work and many hours they put into this podcast, can’t wait to start Ward and continue the journey with Scott and Matt again.

Blueberry FatheadNihil SupernumThis podcast is the perfect companion podcast to the perfect podcast that is the Audiobook itself. Please listen to both, well worth your time.
-
Jahwn lemonjelloVery fun look back, can substitute for a rereadI read it last year and then stumbled upon this podcast and decided to listen without rereading and have still very much enjoyed it
-
Kylet30Very insightful analysisI wish I could articulate how much I love the analysis that these episodes provide. They give me such a deeper meaning and understanding of the story that I would normally miss on my own. I LOVE LOVE LOVE worm and I recommend it to everyone I can; and I would say I get equally excited for these episodes. Thank you Matt and Scott for all the effort you put into this episodes. Worm/Ward and we’ve got worm/ward have honestly made a difference in my life so thank you so much for everything you’ve both done.
-
Mor DrakkaIncredibly eye-opening look into literary analysis through an engaging lens.Remarkably insightful and in-depth of a complex and challenging piece of writing. Their analysis is intensive and their interactions immensely entertaining. My only warning to those going in is that they are awfully fond of things being normal, they tend to skew towards a fairly shallow view on morality, and overall you can tell they put their absolute all into analyzing the work but a touch less into actually thinking about it. There are some indescribably bad takes in here. That said? Absolutely worth the time to listen.

DDashevskyA great sequelI started to listen to We've Got Worm as a way to experience Worm again without having to reread the whole thing. I quickly fell in love with Matt and Scott's dynamic and insight. I've listented to tons of their content on here and other shows and I can say that they have dramatically influenced the way that I think about and engage with stories throughout my life. This show takes the chance to dive even deeper into a work and I would say it's as good a sequel to We've Got Worm as Ward itself is to Worm.

VersiasGreat Way to ReadEver since that summer where I blazed through Worm in less than a week (I literally didn’t stop reading until I was done), I’ve been obsessed with the world of parahumans. All of Wildbow’s works are incredible, but Worm and its sequel Ward are complex, dense pieces of fiction. Listening to Matt and Scott going through Worm was nostalgic; I teared up at some more emotional points. Their deft summaries, thoughtful analysis, and genuine love for the works really shines. Listening to this podcast as I read Ward adds a level of depth to the experience that I can’t recommend enough. Thanks for all your hard work guys!
-
quineletStrong recommendIt’s delightful to listen to skilled readers discussing Wildbow’s work. It’s showed me aspects of the story I hadn’t seen before and helped me to better appreciate Worm. I enthusiastically recommend this podcast.
-
RWBYlover15whiteroseBetter than my high school English teacherI love this podcast so much! Matt and Scott are so funny and charming, and their analysis of Wildbow’s amazing web-serials is thoughtful and enlightening. Hearing them go over Wildbow’s literary techniques he uses honestly teaches me more than any of my old high school english teacher! Keep it up my dudes! P.S. You heckers, you got karma chameleon stuck in my head. Look what you’ve done.

Patrick TubillejaListen to this amazing podcastsThis podcast has taught me thing about Worm and Ward that I never would have known about otherwise. The hosts are incredibly insightful, hilarious, and so hard working. Thank you Scott and Matt!
-
IamnotFaustA Fantastic literary analysis about a superhero webeserialScott and Matt dive into the themes, trials and tribulations about the characters in the parahumans universe. The source material, Worm and Ward, are of course incredible, but I don't think I would have appreciated the depth of the material without We've got Worm. While I haven't listened to We've got Ward in a while (have to wait for a backlog to binge nonstop for weeks straight), I know that when I come back Scott and Matt will bring their insight and enthusiasm to my reading. It feels like sharing your favorite novel with literature professors. Or at least their TA's :)
-
Modernloki21I tried .I love WBP and the Parahuman world so I was excited to find this, but I just can’t. I listened to them talk for ten minutes about how excited they are to talk about their analysis after reading two chapters. I really did try.
-
HopefullylesspretentiousThis podcast taught me how to analysisI’ve never really been particularly astute when it comes to picking up on subtleties, nuances, and themes in the media I consume. We’ve got Worm changed that. The analysis is so accessible and understandable that it’s changed the way I read. That’s the highest compliment I can give, though there’s plenty more good things to say about it.
-
Colin the DefiantEngaging and brilliant analysis that enhances the Wildbow experience. With this podcast, Scott and Matt have not merely entertained and enthralled me through hundreds of hours of incisive and witty analysis; they have permanently impacted my understanding of literature like the English class I never had. I never know if the next episode will make me feel dumb for missing obvious things or blow my mind with brilliant insight, but I enjoy every second of it. This is unmissable companion material that further enhances the already-incredible experience of Parahumans. Matt, I love this.
-
LinknmikeReal good stuffThis is the first podcast I’ve really listened to, and these guys keep blowing my mind with how deeply they’re inspecting the book. I’m getting close to the end of their analysis of Worm, and the speculations and connections made here never fail to impress. Could not recommend the podcast enough.

•Samwich•I Love ThisBackstory: I randomly discovered Worm in a Youtube comment and decided to give it a try. I fell in love and read the whole thing in a little under a month. Between each of my college classes I devoured chapter after chapter. Sadly, I had no one to talk to about it. I figured Youtube got me into this, Youtube will help me again. So I found the podcast. And it is absolutely amazing. Scott reminds me that metaphors are a thing and there is always more than just a surface layer. But one part that I feel often gets overlooked is how great Matt is at summarizing key information. I tried talking a friend through the story of Worm and couldn't do it, trying to cover all the character beats and intense and intricate battles was too difficult, but Matt has got this down to a science. They are both also really funny. Even the out of video descriptions are funny, especially Gleaming part 2, "Finally a chance for Byron, Captain of Gondor, to show his quality." I now listen to their podcast whenever I cook. Now that I've caught up with it I just listen to old episodes, waiting for a new one. These guys are awesome. Anyway I promised myself I'd write a reivew and become a patron as soon as I caught up so I'm going to go do that now. This is the only podcast where I have relistened to any episodes. It's great.

Jeneen DahlThe best thing!Matt and Scott are two enjoyably agreeable friends exploring the garden of Wildbow’s massive universe. If you enjoy deep dives into literary masterpieces, without argument and stressful trigger events this is the podcast for you! I finished my second listen to of the audiobook Worm, then found ‘We got Worm!’ The first few episodes were a little hesitant as Matt and Scott found their stride but I soon got into the habit of listening to them throughout my day traveling to and from work and when ever I could during work. It’s been about a month and I’ve finally caught up to the end of the ‘We got Worm’ and will be heading into the Ward section. I -can- not- wait to listen to the book, then dive into ‘We got Ward!’ Much like Armsmaster depends on an outside source of morality, I use Matt and Scott’s deep insights and extensive story telling knowledge to decipher, what this story means to me. Thank you guys for all your blood sweat and tears to bring us this podcast! Well wishes and affection from the west coast. Please keep doing what you’re doing!
-
Furiousxgeorge!Great podcast. An essential companion to reading Ward. Adds depth and insight to the reading experience. Can’t wait to reread Worm and listen along to those episodes too.

ZtythyzMakes you feel smart for reading a web serial(I read all 7,000 pages of Worm a little over a year ago in around 2 months of burning my eyes late at night while a clicked "next chapter" over and over again. Needless to say, I really enjoyed it. After waiting a few months before catching up to the sequel, Ward, I heard about this podcast analysing the original as well as the sequel. I postponed listening to it until my evening runs became so boring that I had to get something to listen to. Just as I regret waiting so long to start Ward, I regret waiting on this podcast. I caught up in around the same time it took me to read worm originally, and that saying something that this podcast could be as engrossing to listen to as Worm was to read.) These guys do an amazing job analyzing, critiquing, and appreciating WeebleBobble's masterpieces. The amount of information and quality surpasses most college English classes (seriously, you guys should do a course on Worm) and in 30 years when Worm is required reading for high school students this podcast will be required listening alongside! Kairophagus! P.S. it's pronounced "ztythyz"

Dan TobiasGreat companion to a great web serialI've been following this podcast since it started as We've Got Worm, and always look forward to new episodes. When it started, I'd already finished Worm (and if you haven't read that, go find it now!) and liked the point-by-point discussion of that story from start to finish. Then when it moved to the ongoing sequel series Ward, I was a little behind in my reading so I had to do a lot of catch-up before I was able to listen to the podcasts (never listen to them before reading the stories, as they're highly spoilerific... but only through the place in the story that each episode discusses, so it's OK to listen to one if you're past that point in reading but not quite caught up to the latest one). With Worm, a "gimmick" was that one of the podcasters was just reading it for the first time and giving his comments on each chapter after he finished it (the other one had read it all, but refrained from spoilers ahead of the point his companion had reached). For Ward, however, we're all in the position of reading and reacting to the latest installment at once. It's always interesting and insightful, pointing out all sorts of things you may have missed in your first reading. One of my favorite podcasts of all time!
-
geekling713Oh 🐛?Like Scott, I am a first-time reader, and I’ve really enjoyed having this as a companion piece. The analysis is very thorough, and has been a great springboard for my conversations with the people who got me to read Worm in the first place. It’s also really fun to follow along with Scott’s Speculations, comparing and contrasting them with my own. It makes me sad when I can’t listen to more episodes because I haven’t finished the next arc, but I look forward to catching up and participating in community discussions as new episodes are released!
-
andresperez327Great podcastIncredibly satisfying way to revisit this awesome web serial. Would definitely recommend if you love the story of Worm!
-
Taco222Thanks, I guessI've recently binged through all of "We've Got Worm" and am nearly caught up on "We've Got Ward." Matt and Scott have greatly enhanced my appreciation of a series that was already one of my all time favorites through their thorough analysis, keen observations, and humorous discussions. The one downside is that I'm not sure how I'll be able to truly appreciate future stories without their commentary and I'm afraid they may have actually ruined my life forever. So, thanks, I guess.
-
PunalchemistWildbow has given me no less than 3 nightmaresI'm only on arc 14 of worm, but I've been reading along and then listening to this podcast after, and its a wonderful way to absorb more from the story. Its also spoiler free, which means its basically the only worm content I can enjoy without worry at this point lol. I love all parts of this podcast, its perfectly balanced, as all things should be. I look forward to catching up and speculating on Ward with the rest of the community!
-
TMS's Acronymhere's an a(ward) for a great podcastExcellent analysis, thought-provoking commentary, and a little bit of fanboying blends together to make this the seminal podcast for Parahumans past & present. Keep it up!
-
Zion Did Nothing WrongA SUPER good podcast.Simply put, Scott and Matt know what the hell they are talking about, or do a good job of sounding like it. Their commentary and analysis go above and beyond anything else I’ve seen about these books. Because of them, I’ve started thinking more critically while reading. Not only have they helped me understand Worm/Ward better, I feel like I have become better at understanding why I like other books and media in my life. Both guys are articulate with their thoughts, and almost always point out things I missed. Thanks to them I have looked forward to Wednesday’s for a long time.
-
zededarianGreatManages to capture the feeling of convincing a friend to read a book you love and then talking about it with them as they read.
-
El_BenitoI love this! (Too!)I just finished binging the backlog of who knows how many hours of insightful conversation regarding one of the best stories I have (and still am) reading. Wildbow’s sequel to his masterwork in this exciting new frontier of publishing is already an enthralling delight to consume. Then Scott and Matt’s accompanying literary discussion further bolsters that experience as they offer enlightening writerly insights along with their own personal reactions. Their participation (not to mention Wildbow’s) in the subreddit and online community is terrific. And I would salute the self-restraint that keeps them from descending into bootless fandom, which I ought to apply instead of posting this unedited review that’s gone on for way too long. Thanks guys
-
PointMeAtTheDawnUnique analysisMatt and Scott's studious pacing allows for a more attentive perusal of Wildbow's works than most readers invest, yielding profound insights into the essential themes thereof. They bring to bear years of critical experience; mix the genuine chemistry from their banter in, and you've got dozens of episodes to enjoy. There's a reason this is the only podcast I've stuck with for more than an episode.
-
LiamOsterI love this!I read the first few arcs before I discovered the podcast but now I don’t know how I would live without it! I look forward to it Daly! Keep up the great work, you guys are the best!
-
LogzloThis podcast watered my plants, cleaned my skin, and filled my bank accountFinally, a place where I can hear other people dissect the themes of Worm and Ward instead of trying to do so with my friends, who tune out after a few sentences of superhero stuff. Thanks, Matt and Scott!
-
CaulestonOne of the Best Literary Reviews to Listen to.We've Got Worm, and the new series We've Got Ward, is one of the best literary podcasts I have have the pleasure of listening to. Scott and Matt's beat by beat breakdown of the story have helped me gain a new appreciation for Wildbow's writing and have helped me improve upon my own writing. If you are on the fence about reading Worm, either because of the length of the work or because of the genre, this podcast is an excellent guide through the world of parahumans and death-powers. Keep up the great work guys.
-
KslfpfjeiyqReally enjoyableListen to it if you like Worm!
-
Semido3PodcastObviously Taylor is perfect in every way and did nothing wrong ever, but it's interesting to hear some different perspectives on that. Definitely worth listening to
-
Liz295If you read/will read Worm, LISTEN TO THISThis podcast goes into a deep dive of the best web serial on the internet. It’s entertaining, educational, and altogether great. It’s like talking to two of your best friends about something you all love!
-
001010Good podcastMy name is Scott Daly and I love anime and shipping! I just typed that so Scott would have to say that. Good podcast though.
-
barlaventingYou saved our marriage!Just kidding. Well, you *would* have saved our marriage had it needed saving. My husband and I started reading Worm back when we were dating in college. He had already finished by the time I started reading it, so in a way, he and I got to experience what Matt and Scott went through with the original podcast. This podcast has allowed us to re-experience Worm in a new light, and helps to make those absent "Next Chapter" links in Ward that much more bearable.

ReubenDunningtonWhat you wish you had in high schoolAs longtime Wildbow fan, I was intrigued by the idea of a podcast about my favorite novel. Matt and Scott have completely blown my expectations away with their incredible literary analysis of this world and it's characters. When I first read this book, I simply enjoyed it for the story, but on my second read, the character-grounded discussion of this universe and its multitude of themes, conflicts, and story have brought out a new life from the text I would never have seen otherwise. It's funny (strange) that before listening to Scott and Matt I didn't really think of the characters in this book as people, just interesting devices in a fun plot, but that change in my perspective has shown me the power that real literature can have; seeing the world through completely different characters' perspectives has helped me even in my daily life to think about the things that people say and do not just from my own perspective, but also to try and emulate theirs as well. Thanks so much guys!
-
Percula1869Worms it's way into your heart.Worm is one of my favorite books and I didn't think I could enjoy it any more than I already did. But the wonderful, in depth, and fascinating commentary these guys put forth every week has enhanced my love of Worm beyond what I thought possible. They dissect and reveal all the beautiful details I never even noticed my first read through of WünderBars master work, as well as reminding me of all the reasons I loved it in the first place. So happy they are covering Ward now. Keep up the phenomenal work guys.
-
buenoexcellenteGreat analysis with occasional intolerable moralizingThe two hosts do a great job of breaking the story down into themes, and beats, and tropes. I've learned more from them about how stories are constructed than I did in my entire education. It's consistently entertaining, but sometimes maddening. This text does not say what I want it to say, and realizing that has emotional consequences. Be prepared.
-
Wednesday Clock BlockGreat podcast!Screws up my productivity every Wednesday morning because I can’t wait to listen to it.
-
ortatheroxSubscribed and backedI devoted a considerable amount of time to studying the art of writing in 2017. This podcast really has been a high note in my understanding of how a well structured narrative works. Subscribed when it was still a part of the Daly planet, and been backing on patreon for many, many, months. Been totally worth it. Interested to see how the real-time aspects change it with Ward. You two have got this.
-
TheTeeJayGeeWell done y’allI read Worm in the past but had recommended it to a friend. He in turn directed me to the podcast. Y’alls insights have enflamed the itch to reread it. So once again, well done on an excellent podcast.
-
Dr Michael TrainA great podcast about a book I never had anyone to talk to about.I was a slow adopter if this podcast due to the 2+ hr length of each episode... how would they keep it interesting? So I only listened when they got to an Arc I particularly loved (I love to hate blank slates) and that was that. I listened to the back-episodes and even found myself finding excuses to go on long drives to finish each week’s pod before the next one came out. I devoured Worm in a four month block of feverish reading and loved it, and had all these thoughts! But none of my friends had even heard of it, to my chagrin. I love that I found this podcast, where I can live vicariously through Scott as he goes through all the great, heartbreaking, and downright staggering moments of this great story.
-
ArczhideaFun Worm AnalysisMatt and Scott take us step-by-step through the wonderful and traumatizing story that is Worm. This podcast has helped me see minor details in the writing and character development that I overlooked on my first read through. I love Wildbow's writing, and We've Got Worm has made it easy for me to explain to my friends why the story is so well done. If I had to sum up how I feel about this podcast in three words, it would be "I love this!"
-
StrankerChanged how I look at storiesWe've Got Worm goes into a level of detail in their analyses that you don't see in many other places. Seeing Scott and Matt talk about the ins and outs of Worm and its characters changed how I look at not just the story, but all stories in general. Since listening to We've Got Worm, I've started becoming more analytical of stories I read in a similar way. Because of this, I pick up on things that I never would have in the past. We've Got Worm is a fantastic podcast about a fantastic story. I highly recommend that anyone who is a fan of Worm check it out.
-
HedrigalGreat for the New and OldI wanted to show some love to this podcast, I currently am commuting to grad school and this has kept my car rides sane. Scott and Matt do a fantastic job of approaching this enormous book in a an analytical, fun way that is friendly to both someone new to Worm or wants to revisit after they read the whole thing in two weeks a year ago. It’s also served as a fantastic review for the upcoming sequel! I will say that in the first episode or so I was worried that there would be a lack of general enthusiasm in how they deliver their analysis, but that quickly faded as I think the two felt more relaxed and confident in this project. It’s hard to do a close-reading of a book that’s larger than most book series. I want to thank the creators so so much, they’ve allowed me to give Worm the analysis it deserves. I haven’t caught up to date with the cast yet, but I hope that this review serves as more motivation for them to continue (as I have little money to give). The large chapters can be daunting, but let this be another audience member saying just how appreciative he is. Excited for them doing Worm 2! WildBeet’s readers are an untapped audience that you guys can get major listeners from (as I’m sure they’ve noticed). This would of course be years down the line (after Worm 2) but would love to see them do Twig, or even finally get me to finish Pact! God bless! Thank you Scott and Matt!
-
Mouse Protector 2.0Yeah man for sure. This is a podcast where two dudes who understand storytelling teach us what it's like to read Worm without being sucked into Taylor's head so far that morality falls away. Can't wait to follow along with these guys on Ward.
