melee99Invaluable resourceI’ve been a listener of this podcast since 2019, and it’s invaluable to me. The sacred work of sharing the perspectives of foster kids, adoptees, foster and adoptive parents, bio children, case workers— and all types that go into this system is handled with such care by Jaime and the TFI team. Having so many perspectives cover a variety of topics is invaluable to those currently or preparing to go into the throws of this system. As an adoptee who grew up with violence, it’s also healing and educational for me to listen to some of these experts share the differences in a “normal” child be a child who has experienced trauma. Above all, the Christ Centered perspective and lens that this whole podcast is filtered through is truly a gift to those of us who feel a calling from Christ to be a loving resource and family to the most vulnerable among us. THANK YOU.

New foster parentsAmazing resource! My husband and I both listen to every episode! We are first year foster parents and we can’t get enough of this podcast. We’ve learned so much from so many different perspectives. We feel supported and encouraged and pointed to Jesus heart every time we listen. Thankful for this resource!

bcbsmnuserGreat interviewsThe interviews are wide-ranging and have great perspective and info! I do wish the host spent less time trying to always relate things back to herself and her story.

ShelbyFosterMommaLOVE LOVE LOVEEven if you are not a foster parent, this is a fantastic podcast! Personally, I am a foster parent and it is such an INSPIRATION. Honestly, when I’m having a hard day within the system, I listen to an episode in order to center myself and refocus. I definitely recommend!

eak0408Amazing podcastThis is the best podcast out there! Listening to the stories of former foster children is so eye opening and really helps spread awareness that leads to action in supporting this community. I’m so thankful for this podcast, as it has also provided encouragement and helpful information for our respite foster care journey.

mtchnelsonYou need to listen! This is a great podcast for those in the trenches of foster care AND for those interested in learning about how to support and love this often forgotten community in our world. You need to listen to this podcast!

hahsdnaaaReligionI wish the overview of the podcast would specifically outline how much she talks about religion. That would be good to know before subscribing. I am not religious but I am a foster parent so I feel conflicted with this.
-
RhonLeaTorn Between Two Worlds — WOWWow! Shreya—you are so inspiring! I was captivated by your story and your overwhelming trust in God’s plan for your life. It was so cool to hear how your parents were looking into foster care but at the same time your mother kept getting nudges to adopt from India. God does things like that! I look forward to following your God-driven story in years to come. Thank you for sharing.
-
ILoveJesus555Need HelpThank you for your work on this podcast. We have been fostering 3+ years and are in a really difficult season with our foster child. Is it possible to hear from veteran foster parents and how they made it through those tough seasons and lasted 10,20,30+ years as foster parents? Thanks again for your work on this podcast.
-
IrollwithJCInvaluableI am blown away by how useful and helpful this podcast has been. I recommend this to all current and potentially interested foster parents.

MianarayA different perspectiveI’m not a foster parent yet, I don’t attend any kind of church, Christianity isn’t my jam, but I ADORE this podcast. Loving, insightful, compassionate, helpful and beautifully varied, I am so thankful I found this show. We want to foster, we will foster, and now I feel like we have a few more tools in the toolbox to bring our family to a child that needs it, whether for ten minutes, ten days, months or years. Please keep up the great work of bringing different perspectives to the show and explaining how kiddos might be feeling and how we can be loving supportive grownups in their lives. Thank you💜💜

Sarah.Grace823A wonderful podcast and ministryAs a foster mom, I am thankful for Jamie’s humble heart and fierce love for the community of foster care. Her perspective has been life-giving to my husband and I. Thank you, TFI and keep up the amazing work.
-
BrouikUniversally useful and fortifyingI am not observantly religious, but as a mother and person who works with foster families, there is ALWAYS something profound to hear in Jamie’s interviews. I truly love this podcast.
-
Jamie MakaylaSuch a good podcast!I’ve listened on and off to a few episodes of this podcast, but more recently I’ve been listening all the time to past episodes;) just today I listened to the interview with the Gateway woods LARC worker and was so convicted when he talked about Christians who become comfortable right where they are, and that the Jesus we know calls us to action! This podcast is so worth listening too!!
-
Lemberg86Listen!! It’s so worth your time!!I was hesitant to begin a podcast on foster care. I didn’t think it would help, was I wrong. I was hooked by the first episode. As a foster parent the topics are exactly what I need to hear. The people she interviews all do a great job telling their story. You won’t be disappointed by spending your time listening, your life will be touched and you will learn something!
-
KellyRTnA must-listen for foster parentsThis podcast was so helpful during my foster journey and is still helpful as I continue ministering in the foster care community. I love TFI and the podcast!

JuliejeannebInspiring and honestThis podcast has been exactly what I needed in my foster journey and I have been amazed how often the subject is exactly what I needed for where I have been and the kids I have been with. Thank you for the heart and truth of it.

KailbillHooked from the startFrom the very first episode, I was hooked. I appreciate that this is a Christian based podcast; it’s definitely encouraging to see the church making moves to do as Jesus did, but more importantly, it’s wonderful to get such a wide range of opinions and insight from all different backgrounds. I love that they are hitting the topics that we have questions about that we didn’t realize we had questions about. This podcast is a great resource to use alongside your classes for, what I believe to be a well rounded look at foster care, adoption, reconciliation, and the Father’s love. Thanks for what you are doing.
-
Mama Blair 88Encouraging and realLove the honesty of how difficult and overwhelming much of this life can be and yet the reality of our perspective in Christ. So encouraging. This has been the most encouraging and helpful podcast I have listened to since we adopted a 3 and 10 yr old sibling group from foster care.
-
Alissa MacEncouraging!I heard about this podcast about a year ago when we started our foster care process. I went all the way back to the very first episode and it wrecked me, I had to pull over while I was driving. It definitely has become one of the clear ways God has nudged me to continue on this journey!
-
Hannah WattsThank you!Great podcast so encouraging

village of hope mauiThank you!You have been such a blessing to me and my community as we start a foster care ministry and as we continue to foster kids. I so appreciate all of the encouragement and wisdom
-
caitSneeWonderful encouragementI often listen to foster and adoption podcast. But none of them bring me the encouragement I need to keep going the way this podcast does. There are plenty of resources out there on practical ways to help these kids, but not many that point us back to the Lord as our strength. Thank you for always bringing Biblical truth and encouragement to each podcast and reminding us that He is the true healer.
-
aeubanks226Breath of fresh airI’m in the adoption process and I love hearing all of these stories. I love hearing from the adults who grew up in the foster care process, their view point is invaluable. Thank you for all of your hard work and putting this resource together for us!
-
faithdeaBeautiful coincidenceI know God led me to this podcast, but it sure felt like a coincidence when I was browsing and came across The Forgotten Initiative. I was simply looking for more encouragement and community as I do during any difficult life phase. Since subscribing, I have gladly shared episodes and recommended this podcast. Thank you especially Jami for putting your heart and soul into each and every episode.

jlaurenbagleyWonderful, uplifting, challengingLord willing, getting ready to become a foster parent with my husband. While we wait for final approval, I have been so blessed by this podcast. I have heard new things and old things in a new, beautiful, God-glorifying way. Thank you for this podcast and for making Christ, glorifying him and serving others the center of it!

mleplattA must listen for foster parents or foster parents to be!Finding this podcast has been a blessing as we start on our journey to becoming a foster family. Hearing the perspective of adults who were in care as kids, birth parents, and how to work with birth families have been great to hear.
-
Laura NM 88House Parents“You are not alone,” are some of the most encouraging words I have received over the last 5 months of my husband and I serving as house parents for the NM Baptist Children’s Home. We serve as full time parents to 6-8 foster kids plus 2 of our bio kids! The practical tips and you share while always keeping it gospel centered encourage and challenge me in our daily ministry. If you have any connections to experienced house parents I would love to hear from their perspective! I would also love to hear about the practical ways people raise large 7+ kid families with trauma backgrounds. Thank you for all you do!
-
Jules_K_Kinformative and encouragingthis podcast has given me strength, wisdom, and guidance as I’ve walked through kinship care.
-

mrs.rrcLove this, it has helped me in my journeyLove this podcast. I started listening a year ago as my family and I began our process of going through an information meeting to see if we were even interested in doing foster care to becoming licensed in April to getting our first official placement almost a month ago. I’ve been listening to this podcast this whole time while going through this process and it’s been so encouraging and informative. It’s given me insight on things from empathy to the birth mom ( we’ve started a journal) to starting a donation drive for our local county while I was waiting to be licensed. Can’t say enough about this podcast and the The Forgotten Initiative
-

-
Blorp The AlienI have it a shot but......I can’t get past the silly religious stuff. Its impossible for me to simply brush off the immense blind spot required to ignore that their god allows children to be hurt so terribly that they end up in foster care in the first place.
-
SarieOJaneLove this podcastI recently found this podcast and am so thankful for it. As an adoptive and foster mom, the insights I’ve gleaned are so helpful and real. The host is wonderful and the guests are amazing!
