I’ve been a listener of this podcast since 2019, and it’s invaluable to me. The sacred work of sharing the perspectives of foster kids,adoptees, foster and adoptive parents, bio children, case workers— and all types that go into this system is handled with such care by Jaime and the TFI team. Having so many perspectives cover a variety of topics is invaluable to those currently or preparing to go into the throws of this system. As an adoptee who grew up with violence, it’s also healing and educational for me to listen to some of these experts share the differences in a “normal” child be a child who has experienced trauma. Above all, the Christ Centered perspective and lens that this whole podcast is filtered through is truly a gift to those of us who feel a calling from Christ to be a loving resource and family to the most vulnerable among us. THANK YOU.

My husband and I both listen to every episode! We are first year foster parents and we can’t get enough of this podcast. We’ve learned so much from so many different perspectives. We feel supported and encouraged and pointed to Jesus heart every time we listen. Thankful for this resource!

The interviews are wide-ranging and have great perspective and info! I do wish the host spent less time trying to always relate things back to herself and her story.

I love this podcast!!! As a big foster sister( we have two little guys in our home currently) I love listening to the podcasts, it is very helpful and encouraging! I’m so glad she stays true to scripture( I was nervous about the episode about loving LGBTQ+ kids) it was true to what the Bible says❤️ I especially loved the episode with the two teens who had, had foster siblings (: I recommend this podcast a million times over! Even if you are not a foster parent, this is a fantastic podcast! Personally, I am a foster parent and it is such an INSPIRATION. Honestly, when I’m having a hard day within the system, I listen to an episode in order to center myself and refocus. I definitely recommend!

This is the best podcast out there! Listening to the stories of former foster children is so eye opening and really helps spread awareness that leads to action in supporting this community. I’m so thankful for this podcast, as it has also provided encouragement and helpful information for our respite foster care journey.

I’ve listened on and off to a few episodes of this podcast, but more recently I’ve been listening all the time to past episodes;) just today I listened to the interview with the Gateway woods LARC worker and was so convicted when he talked about Christians who become comfortable right where they are, and that the Jesus we know calls us to action! This podcast is so worth listening too!!

I was hesitant to begin a podcast on foster care. I didn’t think it would help, was I wrong. I was hooked by the first episode. As a foster parent the topics are exactly what I need to hear. The people she interviews all do a great job telling their story. You won’t be disappointed by spending your time listening, your life will be touched and you will learn something!

From the very first episode, I was hooked. I appreciate that this is a Christian based podcast; it’s definitely encouraging to see the church making moves to do as Jesus did, but more importantly, it’s wonderful to get such a wide range of opinions and insight from all different backgrounds. I love that they are hitting the topics that we have questions about that we didn’t realize we had questions about. This podcast is a great resource to use alongside your classes for, what I believe to be a well rounded look at foster care, adoption, reconciliation, and the Father’s love. Love the honesty of how difficult and overwhelming much of this life can be and yet the reality of our perspective in Christ. So encouraging. This has been the most encouraging and helpful podcast I have listened to since we adopted a 3 and 10 yr old sibling group from foster care.

I heard about this podcast about a year ago when we started our foster care process. I went all the way back to the very first episode and it wrecked me, I had to pull over while I was driving. It definitely has become one of the clear ways God has nudged me to continue on this journey!

I often listen to foster and adoption podcast. But none of them bring me the encouragement I need to keep going the way this podcast does. There are plenty of resources out there on practical ways to help these kids, but not many that point us back to the Lord as our strength. Thank you for always bringing Biblical truth and encouragement to each podcast and reminding us that He is the true healer.

Finding this podcast has been a blessing as we start on our journey to becoming a foster family. Hearing the perspective of adults who were in care as kids, birth parents, and how to work with birth families have been great to hear.

“You are not alone,” are some of the most encouraging words I have received over the last 5 months of my husband and I serving as house parents for the NM Baptist Children’s Home. We serve as full time parents to 6-8 foster kids plus 2 of our bio kids! The practical tips and you share while always keeping it gospel centered encourage and challenge me in our daily ministry. If you have any connections to experienced house parents I would love to hear from their perspective! Love this podcast. I started listening a year ago as my family and I began our process of going through an information meeting to see if we were even interested in doing foster care to becoming licensed in April to getting our first official placement almost a month ago. I’ve been listening to this podcast this whole time while going through this process and it’s been so encouraging and informative. It’s given me insight on things from empathy to the birth mom ( we’ve started a journal) to starting a donation drive for our local county while I was waiting to be licensed. ...I can’t get past the silly religious stuff. Its impossible for me to simply brush off the immense blind spot required to ignore that their god allows children to be hurt so terribly that they end up in foster care in the first place.
