KateG78Gave it a shotI gave this a shot after ISWYD. I miss Mille and Danielle’s friendship and maniacal laughter.
-
Why are you doing this to us?Why is Casey screaming? To go from a true celebration of female friendship to a man screaming in my ear is such a let down. Millie is incredible, and I love her opinions and observations, but Casey’s voice, tone, and volume is nails on a chalkboard.

❤️paulA transitional shoe 🌈💙Hope you do make a remake of “night of the comet” but don’t think there’s much of a need to change the time it’s set in just the disappointing second half. Thank you, love the show
-
Dear moviesThe perfect film podcastI really dig this podcast. It’s not easy to find a film podcast that’s not so serious that nobody can relate without film school experience, but which also is not so saccharine and positive that the hosts seem unrealistic. And this is it!
-
NightriderCatThank You for Returning MillieI take it all back. I can’t stand Casey. I do not look forward to a show. This is terrible. Are we just waiting out the ISWYD contract? Ugh! Casey! Erin B??? This may be the worst show in my feed currently. I miss the chemistry. Oh man. So sad. I even miss Millie. Is that possible? ….Original Post: I didn’t know what to do without you. Glad to so you all returning. Hate to say it but it was time for a break from Danelle. You could hear a shift in the synergy. I am happy to have a refresh. Change can be good. I will miss Danielle but also happily embrace the change. I know she would be laughing at any attachment so I gladly release thy hand.

Elizzzaaa4781Keep Going!I’m excited to see where this podcast goes! Millie and Casey each bring something different to the table. I love Millie’s expertise and knowledge of older films. I can relate to Casey’s movie tastes in horror and movies of my generation. I think they’re trying to find their rhythm with each other. I’d like to have it feel less “produced” and have more natural conversation. The segments seem to get cut short and feel forced. Try and let it flow guys! I believe in you!
-
jfauscetteLove this new iteration!Dear Mille + Casey, I love you! The theme song is dreamy, the hosts lovely and fun- I love this new iteration after getting my heart broken by ISWYD ending. Thank you for bringing us interesting movies every week!
-
Dan Greenfield/13th DimensionSo loudI wanted to like this, but the yelling is just too much. Simmer down, Casey!
-
stephaniesezzdear millie, i love youand that’s why i’m saying this. casey seems like a really nice guy and i have no qualms with him but there are moments that i feel like millie is really gonna lay it out for us and then i sense her hesitation. i know this show is different and i’m not one of those people that can’t embrace change. i’ve also listened to millie’s other podcasts (ISWYD and Sordid Details) and there is an openness in those pods that is missing from this. i’m not saying millie has to spill her guts every episode or anything, it is after all a film podcast. i just wish she didn’t hold back when she’s feeling a certain way or when there’s a male guest on the show and it seems like she goes silent because she doesn’t want to step on anyone’s toes. step on some toes, millie! YOU are the reason we’re here! i love movies too and i love that you know movies back and forth, high brow and low brow. that is very much my jam. the world is full of film bros. you bring something so unique to the table and i want to hear it, more and uninhibited

TeatimectLike hanging with your smart, funny friends with better tasteThe hosts have great banter and complement each other well. I love the Film Diary and themed episodes. My new fav podcast!
-
gfggggggghjuhbI really triedI tried so hard to like this podcast but Casey is just annoying in every way possible. The thing is tho- it’s not just that I miss the old ISWYD show- I do! And I miss Danielle and her hot takes on everything, but I’m realizing I really freaking love Millie. It’s just that she seems to kind of hold back with Casey, it’s like a muted version of her, a little more stuffy. She’s a gem and I would love to have her host a podcast and maybe bring in guests or something. It almost sounds like she’s also not thrilled to be there. I keep waiting for this show to get me but it’s just not. I don’t look forward to new episodes at all. Casey literally brings nothing of value- basic film bro- and Millie’s so wicked smart that it just illuminates how basic he is.

the-movie-girlBFF’sMy new movie besties!

Bonbon123456799Surprised by the white man? He’s fine. I listen to this podcast because of my allegiance to I Saw What You Did, and for what it’s worth, this podcast is an interesting listen. It will get you by. Millie De Chirico is smarter than you in a way that will make you feel inspired. I have a feeling the only reason this show exists is because Danielle Henderson gave the go-ahead. She should be listened to more often.
-
TorointhecityDear Millie & CaseyThe inaugural Academy “Millie” Awards episode is gold. This podcast is for cinephiles and regular degular movie lovers alike.
-
WaaffflllesssMillie is a gem and should be cherishedLooking forward to more episodes!!
-
Stim TickleAwful VoiceHis voice grates on my nerves, needed cotton balls for the blood oozing from my ears.
-
favedressTrying to love itI’m a huge fan of Millie but I’m struggling to get through episodes because Casey is so loud. ISWYD was my favorite podcast and I am trying to enjoy the movie content, but the pure delight of M & D’s humor and banter is missing. I’ll do my darndest to stick with it, but please please stop yelling.
-
sanbob60Love the ReparteeReally enjoying the friendly and funny banter between Millie and Casey and their movie insights and recommendations. Also love the special features and “employee picks.” I’ve got a growing list of “must watches” now!
-
MCSkuaredIt’s awesome!I loved ISWYD, but this is a completely different podcast. I’m really happy to be getting to know Casey. I think he’s great! I love it when a straight guy is not afraid of showing their soft, “sensitivo” side. At first, I thought Millie and Casey were an odd pairing, but after a few episodes I get it, and I really, really enjoy it. I can’t wait to hear more of this awesome duo.
-
JamberJam:/I hate to report that I am not feeling this. I love Millie dearly though so I hope the third time is the charm for pod partners 🤞
-
20ladybug25Not Loving the New DirectionOh good, another opportunity for a film guy to tell me about Salo and how he *actually really likes* romantic comedies. I’m very sad to say that this does not work for me without the Danielle+Millie pairing.
-
Roxymom77I want to love it but…I agree with several of the other commenters I really want to love this. I was a huge fan of ISWYD and was so excited when Millie announced a new podcast was coming, But this ain’t it! I want to love Casey as well, but the odd inflection yelling is off putting and frankly his insight is mid at best. I get the feeling that Millie is downplaying her genius to make Casey comfortable and it is forced and not genuine. I’m going to keep listening in the hopes it gets better as they get more comfortable with each other.
-
deedeeg72Giving it a shotSo far I’m liking it but Casey, please stop yelling! I’m sure the rhythm will come in time but the yelling is intense
-
liz80fromscDear Millie, I 💜 you!So relieved this podcast finally dropped! I was having major Millie withdrawals! Sure, it’s not the same without Danielle but I’m really enjoying getting to know Casey better. My fave part is the “employee pics”!
-
KiwiKimchiKetchupWhat’s with your audioIt was so hard to listen to you guys. In fact I couldn’t get through the episode. You guys are not talking - you are screaming. Especially Casey. And you don’t enunciate well. I was trying to figure out if it was the audio but I think it’s your style of speaking. And it hurt my ears. Maybe you’re trying to sound energetic and excited? In addition I had to go to the transcript to get the name of at least one movie because I couldn’t really understand what you said (enunciation) and then you never said the name again! You discussed it like we all knew the movie and in fact I’d never heard of it. I did not go to film school. I love the Exactly Right network but I guess this podcast is not for me.
-
listenbusterWhy are we screaming?I really wanted to listen to this podcast, but both of the hosts are yelling to the point that I’m worried about their blood pressure. It feels like I’m listening to a morning personality radio show. For the love of yourselves. Calm. Down.
-
CathywrenPlease, for the love of god, stop yelling at meI wanted to love it but omg i could only listen to the halfway point of this first podcast of Dear Movies I Love You. I felt Millie and Casey were both yelling into the microphone at me. I’ll try back once they hit their 100th and see if they’ve calmed down by then.
-
zella mariaThe yellingI’m definitely going to listen to a few more shows but, if they keep yelling….I’m gonna have to go. It’s an interesting show. If you can get past the yelling. I love MFM and this is the first time that I’m not putting 5 stars. Maybe their earphones are to low and can’t hear each other?
-
Fairy_DogmotherNO love for Dear MoviesI hung in there for 20 minutes and just couldn’t take anymore. This isn’t a podcast discussing movies, it’s 2 super self absorbed people talking at each other about how interesting (yet not snobby!!) they are. Do later episodes get better? Do they ever actually talk about anything besides how interesting they are (like maybe movies) ? I’ll never know. I don’t have enough time to listen to great podcasts, I’m not wasting it on this drivel.
-
factsheet7I don’t know!Giving this 5 stars because I love Millie’s work and don’t want my lukewarm take to affect the ratings of a show I really hope keeps going. I was a huge fan of ISWYD— two brilliant hilarious WOC cinephiles providing a covert masterclass on film criticism and history— what a dream. Still, the magic didn’t hinge entirely on their rapport— I was ready to love any new co-host that Millie (and the ER team) deemed worthy. Casey is not it. He sounds like a sweet friendly dude, but his takes are so basic, his loud honking theater kid voice and dull references are cringey, and especially in contrast to Millie, he broadcasts “straight white mid” perspective that lands with such a thud. That quiz? We’re supposed to clap because he knew the premise of Jerry Maguire and Say Anything? It’s too steep of a drop after the electricity of ISWYD. I agree that this show would be listenable if he chills and backs off the mic a bit and gives Millie more air time. More guests or a third (or different) co-host would also be great.
-
suzebeeDear Podcasters, Stop ScreamingLove the content, love what you discuss, love movies, but why does Casey yell every word? WHY!?? I want to be here but I can’t handle the yelling. Your normal voices are lovely.
-
Jjaf17I’m into it but why are they *YELLING*?Such a fun concept, but why are they YELLING all the time? I assume it’s because they record remotely independently of each other, but wow all of the shouting is kind of off putting.
-
EetzelAgree with the other “sound” comments lolLove movie podcasts and already so many recommendations that I will look into… but I did have to pause because the voices are too loud. I know nothing about sound producing, but maybe different microphones? I don’t mind yelling and enthusiasm lol but the sound is definitely off. Will keep listening!
-
BlondkopfchenMillie FanMillie has vast movie knowledge and a treasure trove of interesting -often hilarious-lived experiences. I love listening to her analysis, especially because it comes through a feminist lens. Love her & so glad she’s back!
-
KalesMullsDelighted by the chemistry of the new hostsLoving the new pod and the happy, joyful approach Millie and Casey take to discussing movies!
-
lily_elCrushing on this podcastI love you, Dear Movies! Millie and Casey are such a joy to listen to. Great rapport and wide film knowledge, but they aren’t afraid to get in their feels. Any movie podcast that talks about Anora, Merchant Ivory, Pumping Iron 2, and Orange County in the same “Film Diary” is an A+ for me.
-
Kayla Van TreaseToo Much Yelling! After my first review, I was excited to hear more, but hoping mine and many other comments about the yelling, would have toned it down a bit. Unfortunately, it didn’t and it’s honestly hard to enjoy the show when all you hear is yelling commentary. I think it would be a great Podcast if they toned down the yelling. Very distracting.
-
Heather PrandoJust so enjoyable! It’s a warm hug in podcast form! Such an enjoyable listen! Absolutely love listening to Casey and Millie -it’s interesting and nostalgic, brings a smile to your face, is such an easy listen, and reignites your love of movies! Excited to check out many of the movies mentioned! So fun!
-
FelinofeliceMy new favorite podcastI am a huge Millie fan and was thrilled to see that she had a new podcast. Her views never disappoint, and her commentary on film is funny and on point. Casey is new to me, obviously, but I am also enjoying his view on films so far. My only constructive feedback would be that Casey’s voice can get a little loud sometimes, I feel like he’s yelling at the listeners. But despite the yelling, I won’t stop listening. Maybe he’s excited about the new gig, and I’m sure he’ll catch on and calm down a bit as time goes on. Please keep up the awesome podcasts.
-
annamaloraTwo of my all time fave feministsI love you ladies so much! I am not really a big movie fan, I mean I like movies, but I listen only because Millie and Danielle are so smart and funny. This is truly the only pod that makes me laugh out loud so consistently. If you aren’t listening, GET ON BOARD! And if you want to know why they are the kind of women I gravitate toward, listen to their last show together where they talk about what movie got them into movies.
-
lmk54321Love itI’m so glad I get to hear Millie discussing movies again! I also really enjoy Casey so far, and it seems like they might have more guests on, which should be fun! The only slight criticism is both hosts are generally loud (I get it as a fellow loud), but I’m sure either they’ll adjust or the mic situation will adjust.
-
Emar2113ComfortingSo happy just to hear Millie’s voice again.
-
planzoneI’m all in!You had me at Salute Your Shorts!
-
SG24517So much shouting!I really like the concept of this new podcast and the first episode was a fun listen. However, the shouting needs to stop!!! When the hosts are using normal voices it’s great, but when they start shouting at each other, it’s really distracting. Hopefully it’s just that they’re excited about the new pod and will tone it down a bit in future episodes.
-
FredfloydYay! Millie and Casey!I could listen to Millie talk about movies all day, and she and Casey have a great rapport built on their previous podcast. So happy they will continue to be in my ear holes week after week. Five stars! No notes!
-
television apocalypsegreat show but why yell??i am loving the new movie pod, Millie and Casey are awesome and interesting. but does anyone else feel like they are yelling into their mics? i had to turn the volume way down to get thru that first ep but the content is great!
-
Cakes2009You’re my people12 minutes in, feeling very seen. I love this wide open and nonjudgmental approach to movies. I like a smart movie, but my favorite franchise of all time is Fast & Furious. I love a Michelin star restaurant, but I also love McD’s. We contain multitudes. This podcast contains multitudes. I love it already.

🦙Llama Love💗Cash out that 401KWe need the Son of Magic Mike in our lives!
-
*bloodclaudia3*The silent laugh clap is back !!🥹So happy to hear about movies again. I’m with you Millie, when asked what drink did you see on a movie that you couldn’t wait to try it….mine was the big Lebowski White Russian drink too! I couldn’t wait to try one and also it was trash. Can’t wait for future episodes. Also love the guest discussions.
-
ChunkasonicI Love You Dear Movies!Just listened to the new pod and it was so entertaining and comforting! Such good vibes and a great guest - I didn’t want it to end. Well done Millie and Casey!
