Dads: The Podcast

737

Rory Scovel is an actor, comedian, and writer — but he’s picked up a new title over these last few years: DAD. Each week he and co-host Ruthie Wyatt are joined by their hilarious celebrity friends to unpack the mysteries of fatherhood, parenting and the weirdos who raised us. Full of funny stories from your favorite performers, this is a show for dads and non-dads.

    Love it!!
So glad I just found this podcast! It’s for everyone, dads and non dads. The co hosts crack me upppp. I was sad because I thought they ended the pod but looks like they just are taking a break between seasons. Excited for season 2!

    Yeah
Not sure the point of the co host. Just a lot of laughing and saying yeah way too much.

I’m seven episodes in and every show has been relatable and funny. Keep doing what you’re doing!

    A Mom Who Loves Dads
I have enjoyed every episode of this show. My dad was not around a lot in my youth (he’s dead now, so not around much these days either). Hearing you all talk about the ups and downs of surviving some of your dads and the ways you do or don’t channel them in your own parenting is usually hilarious, sometimes sweet and always entertaining. Thanks for coming up with such a great concept and making it something worth listening to.

    Good so far!!!
It was a good one!! One of my favorite actors is Vince Vaughn and I can’t find him in any podcast and I think he would be a fun guest and him talking about his dad. Also BatDad the internet dad.

    Rory and Ruthie
Wasn’t sure about the podcast but decided to try it out. So glad I did. It is very lighthearted but has depth in many of the conversations. Enjoy the interaction between Rory and Ruthie. Thanks for a great listen.

    Can’t wait for more
I love this podcast. I started listening because I like Rory but i actually really love the talk about dads - such a good topic with so many different perspectives and experiences. It’s been funny and interesting so far.

Rory is hilarious as always, but I love seeing a more intimate side. The co-host is great as well, she always has amazing points to add. Just binged all the episodes! Looking forward to more

    Fantastic
This is a fantastic conceit for interviews and discussions, and Rory is a delightfully entertaining host.

    Thank You
This is an amazing listen. As a father of a 13 year old daughter.....who feels like I can never win....the candid stories from other dads is so reassuring. Thank you

    Been there, done that
I love Conan and Conaco, which is probably why I listened to these guests and similar conversations on his podcast. No one is touring, why are they running back the same guests (in almost the same order) that we’ve already heard?

    Love this podcast!
This is such a sweet, positive, hilarious podcast that the world needs right now! I love listening to it and it’s helped me remember my dad and his influence while also learning such cool stories about people! Thank you!!

    Just here for Rory
I wanted to love this, idc about Dad stuff, I just know Rory is incredibly funny as a stand up comedian. Unfortunately the chemistry between him and Ruthie fails, it seems like she’s trying too hard and is uncomfortable or just isn’t a good fit as a co-host on a comedy podcast.

    Misleading Title
Listened to the first two episodes. Both episodes, especially the second, just *barely* touched on the subject of fatherhood, which is the whole reason I’m listening.

    Fun & affirming
Granted, I’ve only listened to the first couple of episodes but I have to think this will become a regular in my podcast rotation. Rory & Ruthie do a great job of getting to the core of what it means to be a dad. Celebrating, and commiserating, the good, the bad, and the ugly in a most entertaining fashion. Five stars I say!!! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Rory is funniest man on the planet!
    That’s it.

    PURE SOLID DAD GOLD
Rory is amazing and Team Coco is amazing and this Ruthie chick is amazing and I’m about to become a dad for the first time and this podcast is pure solid Dad gold©️

2nd Episode Barely Talked About Fatherhood
First episode was germane to the theme of the podcast and was great but the 2nd episode barely touched on the topic of fatherhood... I’m not hear to learn more about John whatever his last name is.

Co-host is hard to listen to.... 😬
Love team coco podcasts - this one was just ok. Like Rory as a host but the co-host is hard to listen to... inserting 1,000,000 “yeah”s and repeating phrases of others. It pulled me out of listening - I am sure she is lovely and talented but I felt it brought down the overall quality of the show. Will try another episode but not sold on it.

    Entertaining and True!
Good easy personalities to listen to! And some good thoughts to chew on.

    Good feelings
It was a pleasant experience and left me feeling reminiscent of my own fatherhood and my feelings towards my own father.

    LOVE IT!
Right out of gates this show is filled with so much heart, humor and honesty. Rory is a fantastic host, as is his cohost Ruthie. They seem so comfortable and laid back together- it really lends itself to the overall vibe of the show. I’m really looking forward to hearing more!

    Finally!
Rory is hilarious! Saw him do a segment on Conan years ago that I still watch from time to time. Been a fan ever since. So excited he has a podcast!
  • EJ2689
    It’s ok?
    It’s no ‘Your 2 Dads’ but it’ll do I guess? I’m sure it’ll find it’s legs.

    Heck yeah!
This podcast is amazing. Have your dad give it a listen. Listen with your dad. Listen with someone else’s dad. And if you’re not a dad, you should definitely still give this a listen!
  • onedog
    Disappointing
I was really looking forward to this, but it was just a pile of riffs and bits. No real substance. It never got deeper than “I got into comedy because I craved my dad’s affection”, which is covered extensively in every other episode of CONAF. I’ll give it a chance, but right now it seems like a pointless Re-hash of (here it comes again) CONAF.

    Good start
Enjoyed the podcast but it was painful hearing ruthie wyatts useless fake laughter every minute.

Rory Who?? Funny as F#%€ , That’s Who
Never heard of Rory whatever his last name is ... but I can’t wait to hear more of him and this podcast. Laughed out loud a few times and that doesn’t happen much. Great first podcast.

    Sweet & Hilarious
Great idea for a show! Uplifting dads and non-dads. Positive vibes and super funny.

    Heartfelt and fun!
A great mix of laughs and genuine heartfelt conversation. Rory and Ruthie’s chemistry is strong off the bat and I’m looking forward to more!

    Positivity about dads!
Episode one was a success. I love seeing positivity for dads coming out of the Hollywood. Fathers are so important to kids lives. This world would be a better place with more great dads. You guys are helping crush the current view of fathers you see on tv. Make Fathers Great Again!
  • Kimijoy
    Thanks!
Finally, comedy without politics. Fun convo about having a dad or being a dad. Looking forward to how this will evolve.

Not sure if I’m a celebrity?!
Funny, funny, funny with some heartfelt parenting stuff sprinkled in. Worth a listen, check it out! Fingers crossed for many more episodes to come!
