Where are you??? No pod since April. Is draft season.

Max and Ben are responsible for dragging me down the hole of NBA draft scouting, as if I wasn’t watching enough basketball already... but, jokes aside, these two(now with Jake instead of the OG, Ben) have been consistently putting out awesome and entertaining content since the 2020 draft cycle(which lasted way longer than it should’ve). They often bring on insightful guests and you can tell how passionate they are about scouting and getting to understand the game at a higher level. I’m really thankful that they decided to do this and think that they deserve all the praise and 👍 they get, and more! Also make sure y’all go follow them on Twitter. Awesome stuff guys🙌

Really love the podcast, but every once in a while there are huge discrepancies in volume between the hosts of guests. I shouldn’t tell podcasters how to podcast but just thought I should throw that out there.

Best draft pod imo, you could tell Max and Ben do the work. As a fan though I wish Max and Ben didn’t agree on everything, or at least have on guests who push back on their assumptions. Again love the pod but sometimes feel like there’s too much draft twitter group think and think that some different thought would only improve.

I don’t usually write reviews but this podcast is honestly incredible, it’s been my favorite pod for the past few months and Max and Ben consistently have great insight on the draft and player development in general.

Big fan but you guys gotta get your audio together. Listening to latest PD Webb pod and the audio problems are too distracting. Love everything else though.

This is absolutely my go to NBA Draft podcast. Ben and Max are phenomenal analysts. Do not take your ears anywhere else!

Really in depth breakdown on prospects and the report between both hosts is really good. Honestly may go too in depth, which may be a compliment in a way. Along with game theory as one of the best pods for consistent draft content.

Ben and Max are two of the most informed people when it comes to the NBA draft/scouting, and the guests that they bring on are also among the smartest people in the draft world. Definitely a very good pod worth listening to to enhance your understanding of the draft and basketball in general.

Their work covering basketball prospects is expansive and in-depth (just look at their Twitter accounts) and giving them a platform to discuss the prospects that they evaluate clearly leads to hours and hours of engaging content. Keep up the good work guys!

These boys know their stuff

Ben and Max really know their stuff. From nuanced discussions on scouting philosophy to in depth breakdowns on pretty much every player with any chance of getting drafted across multiple classes, it's clear these two have a passion and a talent for scouting that will see them working in the league some day. They mix in fun content like the Draft Twitter mock draft. They bring in experts on specific topics like player development and high school scouting. There is no better podcast in the business and you should subscribe immediately and listen through the entire back catalogue.

This is probably the best podcast that talks about the NBA draft on the market right now. The takes are very nuanced and you know that that the hosts have extensive knowledge about what their discussing.

I was a fan of Ben’s work before the podcast began, and he and Max are so good at what they do. Bringing in other guests is great too, but the pod has really become a staple of my week.

The most substantially insightful basketball podcast I have heard. I always feel like I’m learning something new or opening my way of thinking about basketball, not just the draft or individual prospects. Very entertaining and educational.

Ben is the best. Highly recommend.

It’s really good

If you want really in depth analysis for the nba draft (think Dunc’d On but specific to prospects), add this to your weekly routine. Highly recommend

You simply won't find this brand of player evaluation in the world of NBA Draft coverage. Ben and Max are draft scouts moonlighting as content creators in a world where most people are just the opposite: content creators who morph into draft scouts for 6 weeks every year in May-June. The way they talk about prospects might be confusing at first, but listen long enough and you will surely learn something you could not have learned elsewhere. Listen longer and you might say "ok these guys clearly have a deeper understanding of these prospects and the draft writ large than anyone else I've encountered online or on TV."

Love how they talk about the even late 2nd round prospects and minor international prospects in detail. Guests are always adding value as well. Multi-parting the lengthy podcasts has been working well.

Highlights include looks ahead to 2021 and consistent acknowledgment of team building strategy/modern basketball roles/value. Would not be surprised to see these guys working for teams in the next few years.

I listen to a TON of basketball podcasts and even though I only discovered this one about a week ago it’s already one of my favorites. If you enjoy smart and EXTREMELY detail-oriented analysis of basketball prospects and NBA draft philosophy then this is the podcast for you! A lot of good info shared in combination with advanced stats to show why the guys like/shy away from certain prospects. Opinions backed by fact are always more valid. Give it a listen!

This show is made of star stuff. Excellent analysis. Funny moments. They say some words wrong and one guys voice is weird but I enjoy the overall discussion!

By far the most thorough, insightful, and in depth NBA draft podcast. Indispensable. These two guys are going places.

For what it’s worth, I am 100% a fan of long episodes. You guys get into pretty granular discussions and it’s important to think about how to articulate your points, otherwise the exact meaning can get lost. Sean and Cole used to do 2 hour episodes on 2 prospects regularly with the Stepien/Ode to Oden pod, and it was awesome. You can break it up into 2 parts if you want, but don’t sacrifice nuance. Just one person’s opinion

Gives a much more in depth look in NBA draft scouting then your typical mock draft heavy NBA draft based coverage.

I’ve been reading Max Carlin’s work for some time now and when he announced he was starting a podcast with Ben Pfeifer, whose world I had also found online, I knew it would be a worthwhile listen. The draft is hard to project because of all the variables but these two work hard at their craft, cover multiple angles and viewpoints, have compelling guests feature and, most importantly, provide legitimate food for thought. Insightful analysis and fun discussions, just a couple of laid back guys with basketball minds having nice back and forth, I wish they didn’t agree on so many things just for the fun of back and forth banter, but these guys are excellent.

This duo is worthy of being your go-to draft pod, much needed after Ode to Oden ended (f). They clearly are obsessed with this segment of hoops fandom and it shows in their analysis and depth of knowledge. Can’t wait to hear more 2021 takes Ben and Max! Cade, Kuminga, BJ, Love, Green, Garuba, Suggs, Ziaire, Barnes... 🥵
