Great podcast for any disco biscuits fan, even better podcast for fans of bands named after a animal (fish, geese, pigeons etc) Next year the disco biscuit celebrate 30 years as a band… It’s unbelievable that they are playing at such a high-level in 2024 and showing no signs of slowing down. I love that these guys take time out of their day to give us an insider view on the music making process! Whether you’ve been listening to the band for 30 years, 10 years, or if you just appreciate really smart music it’s a great listen! I’ve been listening to The Disco Biscuits for about 10 years, and I find this podcast extremely enlightening! Helps me enjoy their music even more! Excited for the Rock Opera project, and hearing how the band is continuing to grow!

What this podcast has grown into in just 20 episodes is really something. #18 is about as good of a mind into a young musician as you’ll get. Full on props to Max for a great interview, and bringing unbridled enthusiasm and historical chops to live music played for only a handful of people 20 years ago. A special portrait of a band and musician growing by leaps and bounds and beats, show by epic show. Adding...the Waves episodes were also fantastic. Bring back Max for reg interview segments please!

I think I might be the lone non Bisco fan who listens to the podcast that you were joking about. I listened to the DB a little when Phish took one of their breaks, enjoyed it, but listened to other things too. But for some reason I really enjoy the on going commentary during a show. What a cool approach and the co-listens with the other band members is genius. This is a unique and really fun show and you are slowly winning me over. Alex in NC

Can’t begin to explain my enjoyment here: Love the dissection of what’s happening in a jam. Newer stuff, and the classic stuff especially. I’m entranced by the interviews about what was happening back in the day. Really brings back memories about why I fell in love with the scene, and especially the Disco Biscuits. As a touring fan since 2002, we’ve waited a long time for biscuits talking biscuits. Before shows, during set breaks, and in hotel rooms, we as fans have dissected jams and moments from our favorite band. To have Barber weighing in on the music he has played and what he was thinking in the moment is truly “heaven sent”. As Jon has stated, this podcast will help drive the machine that is The Disco Biscuits.

This is such a cool concept for a podcast from so many perspectives. It’s like seeing into the mind of the artist, or at least the artist’s recollection of his performance, as it’s being created. Fully improvisational sections handpicked by Rich Steele are played while Barber narrates. His recollections of the band’s interactions and intentions for the jam are communicated in a stream of consciousness style while you listen to it with him. There’s really nothing like this out there!

Barber!!! Been really liking the podcast for the chance to hear that old school unearthed magic, excited to hear about how Camp Went and maybe some behind the scenes shenanigans +)

Been on the Biscuits since 00. Took two extra years to graduate because of these guys. Glad I graduated before the inception of this pod or my life would be in much disarray. Barber is a pretty funny dude and gets to be a funny dude in this format, and as a music nerd, the explication of their jams is enthralling. Thanks dude. This show should only get better.

I love the Disco Biscuits because they always go for the “Hail Mary” no matter what. I listen to a lot of finance podcasts, but this was awesome. No more Hail Marys - because Jon is throwing touchdowns. All. Day. 89.9% I saw him through an “air football” toward brownie at the Ogden. Love this podcast. He gets me.

Yes, he’s look human. Yes, he speaks our language. However, this being may not be of our planet. I’ve seen him do and say things that only aliens or celestial beings are capable of. His guitar is simply a vehicle for him to tap into our brains and potentially more. This podcast is just another medium for “barber” or the other or his jamness to take us on a tour of the trance universe.

I’ve been wanting to know about anything that happens in jons mind. This is more than I could ever ask for. The shows are my church. The songs are my holy books. Thank you for this.
