I am The IPhone kidBring back The CrabFeast!I love Jay from the CrabFeast. This is a different kind of show which shows another side to him. Not laugh out loud funny like the feast but more deep conversations with humor sprinkled in.

Emily H RLove Jay, Love the Podcast!I love Jay’s stories and his perspective on the world. Hearing about his family always cracks me up. I have mentioned his Aunt Ru more than once in conversation. I recommend his comedy specials and his Holiday Special if you haven’t seen them yet. Keep up the great work!!

820beatsFTTL!!!Long time Feaster and megafan of your comedy here! Love the podcast playa, as a father with a 4 year old I relate heavily to your takes on fatherhood and to be honest, on most subjects. Except on Curt Schilling. You should be more appreciative of what he did for Boston 🤪 PS We have the same birthday, happy belated dawg Five stars

Amccomas3Love ItBig fan of Jay and his world view. I came over from The Crabfeast and definitely miss it but this is great. All of the idiots complaining that "its not funny" He never once said that it's a comedy podcast. We need to break out the old bay and have a crabfeast reunion episode though. I'll always support Jay Larson Comedy on Pinterest

1478clpBORINGTook a few weeks off tried coming back to it. Still boring and now there’s some sort of lip smacking noise every couple minutes.

DesperChange the name....Came over from the crabfeast. Listened to the first few episodes and they were horrendous.. Had to unsubscribe, recently came back to check in and noticed a substantial improvement. Would be good to change the name to let everyone know it is different, the last few months of crabfeast jay and Ryan were explaining there new podcasts and I feel everyone thought this was a ridiculous premise

LoganR521Glad I waited to review! At first, I didn’t think the Thru Line was for me. Coming from the Crabfeast, I loved both JJ and Sickle. After putting the Thru Line to the side to give Jay awhile to get it going, I’m extremely glad I came back. Jay’s family man and homey feeling is shining through like it did with Sickle, he’s just, if not more lovable than he was then. This is not punchline after punchline like the Crabfeast, but the vibe, while different, is equally entertaining and endearing. The Crabfeast was the Mind, the Honeydew is the soul, and the Thruline is the heart. Try it out! FTTL 💜💜💜 Love you JJ 😘😘😘

chux602Five starsJay is a genius comedian and one of the best comedic story tellers of our generation. Love that he took the hard route and trying to do something new with his podcast. You have more than proven yourself and your fans are with you for the long haul. Keep on killing it.

Favre magic 4FTTL Playa 5 starsLoved the crabfeast. Love Jay’s perspective and comedy. Keep up the good work and stay on Sue about cooking those meatballs thoroughly!! We wouldn’t want anyone getting sea queasy.

SrslynonaJay Larson is a strange genius who talks good & is funny tooI’ve seen your journey from the days of Rollerblades & smoothies to making a pretty decent margarita & always tinkering with fountains & wood. Keep doing what ya doin playa, such a great podcast. Never say ‘why don’t you like me’ like that again. Those beats from Future Ghost Bros. are legit!!

ryano10“Real” talk...Anyone out there struggling with the day to day of weight loss and feeling better about yourself the Bobby Kelly episode hits on this topic late in this ‘cast and was refreshing to hear both Jay and Bobby talk about what they’ve been thru. Great listen! Thanks to you both!

[Big Brown]Hey hey playaI know you feel like you lost a bunch of us, and you did, but we still love you for the good you have given us. While I find it a little difficult to listen without the cackle, I’m still gon’ be keeping you on my subscription list playa. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ #FTTl

Steve PeyIt’s getting betterThe first few episodes were weird. The format was very different. jay tried something no one else has before and I can’t hate for that. it’s not the crabfeast but it’s not supposed to be. A single guest 1on1 is much better than the first few episodes. Stop comparing what he does to what others do. It’s not a story telling podcast. It’s conversations, insight, and life
-
Kaylo1999It was sicklerThe whole time it was Sickler carrying the crabfeast. Since the split the cream has risen to the top and it’s easy to see who’s who. FTTL 1 star. Honeydew>>>>Thruline.

ChayDildyDiamond in the Rough! The eps with Michael Muser & Dan Harmon, alone, are gems but there is treasure in each one of them. Really liking the vibe and what I learn. Jay is finding his groove, bro! It might already be found, who knows? All I knows is... SUBSCRIBE!
-
beefmonYeah, it is not the CrabfeastJay is finding his groove. Give it a shot. Don't let the haters get you down, son. Keep doing you, Jay and things will be fine.
-
Whyborg1Hey Hey Playa’s!!!Jay’s got his sea-queasy legs under his belt now! I love that this podcast has a different format for him to stretch and lean into the topics he finds interesting. I’m a bonafide Thruline Junkie and I look forward to it just like the other podcast I Iistened to. I think it had something to do with sea turtles and Sue’s meatballs ala tartare...

gnarlybrainsThis isn’t the crab feast! It’s Jay!Gotta say... y’all ... this isn’t the crab feast! Jay is a good interviewer with interesting guests. Take it for what it is and don’t compare it to FTCF. It’s a totally different thing ... let Jay find his new voice here, dang!
-
OverYourRerunsHorribleJay has fallen so far since his days with The Crabfeast. His interviews are uninteresting at best if he can actually record it correctly. He seems like he cannot connect with his guests and tries to relate everything to his life even when there is no connection. Additionally he continues to rag on his mother, Sue, to the point we all feel sad for her. Someone please call Ryan Sickler and save Jay from obscurity.

drod49Not funnyI’m sorry I’m a big crab feast fan...but it’s not funny, just boring blah blah...being honest

FlatankerSuckedJust sucked
-
jason paul stuartFTCFPart of what made the crab feast so great was jay’s witty banter with Ryan. His quick witted slight insults were hilarious. Unfortunately this podcast is nothing like the crab feast. I wish you could would get back together jay. I’m sorry but this ain’t it.

Kred72Hell of a show!FTCF5* 4 Life. Love you Jay.

alexV5115Hey hey playa’sJay has an interesting view on things and has great guests that vary from many different parts of the industry. Nice to hear him once again just hanging out and talking with guests about life.

minne jjI don’t get itI gave the Thruline a listen for five eps and I just can’t get into it. It’s sometimes a little funny but never very funny, sometimes a little interesting but never very interesting, sometimes a little educational but never very educational.... you get the picture. I just don’t know what the podcast is trying to be (despite WAY too many rambling explanations up front in ep 1 and preview). Jay has made it clear not storytelling or purely comedy, OK that’s cool. But if it’s purely interview/conversational, it’s just not that good - Jay is not a great interviewer. In the latest ep the interview/conversation almost sounds like it starts mid-sentence; no intro/context, just overall very awkward. I may try again in a few months to see if Jay finds a groove but for now I have to say pass.

Phonebook Bernie#FTTL Five StarsAs a CrabFeast fanatic, I faithfully followed Jay to the Thruline. I thought the initial concept was a really unique idea, but Jay has since changed and in my opinion improved the format. Instead of abbreviated episodes, now we get to enjoy the full 1 hour interviews as they were intended to be heard. Although a different format than the Feast, I am really enjoying Jay's interviewing style. A bit more serious, but still filled with lots of laughs. You can really see how great he's gotten at asking introspective questions that elicit intimate answers. So far the guests have been quite impressive featuring such stars as Marc Maron, Michael Kelly and Cristela Alonzo. Jay has already teased that other such names as Yeardly Smith are to follow. If you can, please check out Jay's Patreon page for the Thruline and help a brutha out. Great job, man. Proud of ya, Lah-son.

User20241Another home run from Larson!hey hey playa! First, it was the Crab Feast! Classic podcast. And now, it is the Thruline. Great concept Jay. When can we see a Sue Larson episode about cooking?
-
@Daniel_WheatleyHey Hey PlayaAs my 2nd favorite Crabfeast host, I was skeptical. Vinyl? Binoculars? Who could have known? The HJ King himself, Jay Larson, that’s who! FTCF FTTL

ELLIEROC26Keep this formatLT! This bonus full ep is much better. I get what you were trying to do...just wasn’t working. This does. Keep it up.

Evanmobile#FTTL ⭐️Been a loyal fan of Jay for years now! But going solo deep in this NPR style hipster bla bla bla 💩 Podcast has way to much of Jay’s self flagellation for my tastes. I had to stop at episode three. Just couldn’t try this hard anymore to like his new podcast! Sorry you 💩 ‘d the 🛏 Jay. Shouldn’t of taken things in this direction man! You could of just written another self published book 📚 and kept the success of the Crabfeast going. I’m gonna go and laugh at a funny podcast with a host who is funny and real. Someone who is comfortable in who they are and proud of what they do. I’m gonna go and re listen to another GOOD episode of The Honeydew 🍈!

BigDan_TZzzzzIf you want to catch some “z”, This is the podcast you’re looking for.

BebodMeh...I’ve been a huge fan of the Crabfeast for a long time. I loved listening to Jay on other podcasts and seeing him on various YouTube content, etc. As much as I was crushed to see the Crabfeast go, I respect the attempt at something new for the sake of creativity. However, this misses the mark in a bad way. It’s disjointed, the interruptions are annoying, the subject matter is boring so far and the biggest issue is the requirement for people to spend money for full interviews. Good luck to Jay with this, but I’m going to find something else for my podcast rotation.
