In this podiobook: "Sellout" was written by Brad Lockwood in 1997 and released as a paperback novella in 2000. Selling remarkably well, Lockwood hit the recording studio to make the audio book of his dreams - featuring 14 performers, an original soundtrack and sound effects, "Sellout" was released as a 2 CD set in late 2000; nominated for multiple Audie Awards and gaining a cult following, only now has "Sellout" been released in digital/podiobook form. Brad Lockwood is the author of 5 books, including "Wink" and "Tested XX"(all available at Amazon.com) and writes the weekly "Borough of Writers"column for the Brooklyn Eagle. As for the other artists behind "Sellout," the soundtrack was performed by the band now known as Lazlo Hollyfeld.

I have no need to ever see a book written by this man. The basic story telling and a desparate need to be more then a writer and show some soul. He fails miserable, although the background music did help get through the first few chapters

    Good price bad story
This book is more flash than substance, the musical scores and voice acting carrying the book more than the story its self. A book shouldn’t have to use other means than an engrossing tale to commit the reader to stay aboard, which this one did in my opinion. While I can’t argue with the price, I can’t endorse the book either creating a conflict of just how low (Note: I didn’t say how high) to rate something that is free. Overall I reluctantly give this audio book three stars for the price of admission coupled with a few good scenes and at least rudimentary character development.

More Audiobooks Should Sound So Good!
Wowza! "Sellout" is awesome! Full surround sound, multiple characters and performers ("38 stitches!") this book makes other audio books sound so dull... Check it out - One question: Why is it free?
