    My Go-to podcast
Even if there are no more new episodes, I keep on coming back again and again. The music selections stay fresh, so do the performances no matter how often they get played and replayed. Thank you so much, KCRW, Public Broadcasting Family, Public Radio!

    My Stress Eliminator
When I’m doing homework, this music really helps me relax and concentrate. Unlike all those other music stations. This podcast comes in handy when I really need to tone down my stress. Thanks, guys!!!😁😁😁

    Disappointed It’s Gone
I listened to the podcast regularly for years and loved it. I’m disappointed there have been no new episodes since 2018. What happened? Bring it back!

    We want more!
I recently came across this podcast and I love it. My only complaint being that there aren’t enough episodes.
  • To many add but great anime!
    Helps with relaxing
I listened to this one night when we were moving from Texas to Colorado. I couldn’t sleep and I had tried everything. I listened to this podcast and it calmed me down really quickly. Thank you for letting me sleep!

    Wonderful podcast
I love listening to the podcast! It’s so relaxing and wonderful to hear the different performances. My husband and I recently went to Italy and I downloaded a few episodes for us to listen to while we were away, and it was lovely. I hope you continue to produce it!

    Marvelous podcast
So great to find that this podcast was available again. I listened for a long time before it went on hiatus. Just what a classical podcast should be - focused on the music with pithy, helpful context offered.

    Classical Performance on Hiatus
I've been missing my regular classical performance podcasts and contacted WGBH to see what the plan was and they say they are attempting to find ways to continue the program. Until they do it is on hiatus. At least we have the archived performances to listen to but I really hope it comes back as a regular podcast one of these days. This really is one of the best classical performance podcasts available.

    Great live classical music podcast
Maybe the intros are a bit much when moving through the catalog, but how can you complain, it's free... Please make more.
  • roger thornhill
    Great podcast....
...but really, they need to drop those lengthy introductions. They sometimes last 2 minutes, and include the grating WGBH theme music. The workaround is fine, but really the introductions are unnecessary; all the info should be part of the metatags.

    Breathe
Haha I could hear breathings too! Have been wondering about that. Yet the pieces selected were very pleasant :)
  • lexralkin
    ok
why is that i can hear the man breathing? Is it the violinist or the host? Is it breathing at all? somebody tell me, i can;t take it!
  • Chacifer
    Superb!
    Thank you!

    WGBH Classical
These are my favorite classical podcasts, even thoguh there is really little of quality to choose from. (The only one of this quality is 'The Concert.") I love Alan McLellan's introductions, and it's exciting to listen to what we used to call "direct-to-disc", unsanitized, unscrubbed, and real. The selections are great, too.
  • bluesdance
Fantastic. Plus, it's easy to clip the intros/outros
All of the music in this podcast is solid gold. It's like you get a free 1/2 CD every time they come out with a new podcast. You can cut the intro very easily by going into the Get Info window and setting the appropriate time options. Hooray for WGBH and free chamber music, we should all send them a donation

A great way to learn about chamber music with great performances too!

    Swept away.
    F*****g awesome.
  • orangepassantino
    Thank you WGBH!
This podcast is terrific! I always find Alan's intros insightful, though I usually use the "Start at __.__" function to skip it after I've heard it once. I've been introduced to many wonderful artists through these great, live recordings.

How to get rid of the talking intro
For those that don't want to hear the talking at the beginning of a podcast, here is how to bypass it: right-mouse click on the podcast after downloading it, click on "get info," and then click the "options" tab. Change the start time to reflect when the music actually starts. This also works for getting rid of anything at the end of the podcast, just change the end time to cut off any unwanted talking. This change will transfer to the iPod and start the "show" right where you want it. I picked this up from another podcast listener and found it most helpful. I hope this helps you enjoy the music more.

    Really Nice...
except we have to listen to an introduction, why not make them seperate so they are optional.

    enthralling concerts
Most of the players are top drawer and they play for free. Could you ask anything more?
  • L_J_G
Music Still good bring back host or get another
The music is still good. I didn't mind the other host; good voice and short informed intro. Current host no info and voice like chipmonks on speed. I gave 5 stars before with other host.
  • Cleofox

    Great Live performances...
The host, Allen is pleasant and it's great exporsure to performers and pieces for us "training wheel" classical enthusiast. Great value for free.
  • gennagertz
    awesome
helps me focus while doing homework
  • SANDINEI
    Soooo divine!!!!
A gem for the classic music lover!!!!
  • Peter Mottola
    Great music
This is probably the best podcast of its genre. The only downside is that one is forced to listen to a spoken introduction before each piece of music, keep one from putting these podcasts in a regular music playlist.
  • leahbug
    Simply serene
Virtuosos perform new interpretations on classics, live in a studio in Boston.
