Hand of HecateA death march into mediocrity’s maw.2/3 of the way in I started to want to throw my iPhone into the street. Started fine and descended into tedious crap. I hung in there hoping that it would improve, but, no.

Tx musicoooGot to part 9 before quittingAnother overdramatic author ruining their own work. Not worth it.
-
KaraPanteraLoved it!Freakin’ loved this gem of a book. You most definitely commit to listening to the entire twenty-four chapters/episodes.
-
Rickc402Good StoryThis is an interesting if not long winded trip across the void. Totally worth it if you’ve got hours to kill.
-
RavenlockePloddingEpisodes are out of order. Slow to start. Almost gave up listening after first couple episodes. I want more excitement.

JessthegangstaWell donePhil Rossi is an enormous talent. His audio books are fantastic.

JahRoseIt blew me away! There are many times when its been hard for me to get into a story that takes place on space, but that is where Phil Rossi is different. He was able to create an amazing world in which I could picture easily in my mind and I'm hooked on this story. I've listened to it three times, and I'm planning on picking up the e-book.
-
P DoanAmazing!I really wish Phil would come back to writing, he is my favorite author. Love this audiobook!
-
ItsjustmeoverhereDisappointingI enjoyed this book up until the ending. The book kept building up and at the end instead of getting any real resolution or ending to everything, it just plateaued. While in the middle of the book I would have given it five stars, but once I got to the end, I found there was no real ending, just a lack of one, which was VERY disappointing.

Echo GroksJust download it alreadyThough graphic, it is a great story. Graphic scenes are not used frivolously and add to the suspense and mystery. I rushed though this book as fast as I downloaded it. Phil Rossi has a great reading voice and the podcast was well produced. I'm looking forward to all future work he produces. Cheers.

Steve6787GreatAs others have said, cant go wrong here. First podcast I heard from Phil was Eden and knew he had it. Put him up there with the top ones, Phil is great!
-
sjenniferrFantastic! This has been one of the scariest things I've listened to! It's a great story, complete with terror, personalities, and a smigde of romance thrown in for good measure. I'll absolutely be looking for more Rossi works!
-
Thunderchild70Epic.Great story, well narrated and performed. Thoroughly enjoyable. What's the deal with all the Sigler cronies? Rossi's great, Sigler's a self-congratulatory blowhard. No comparison.
-
The ByzantineNew worksCome on Mr. Rossi, let see some new podcasts huh? I listened to Cresent almost two years ago and it is easily the best podiobook so far. Don't give up man you got some great stuff here.

quakegutsGreat Hard Core Sci-Fi!!More from this universe please!
-
Natorious BAGGreat BookI was glued to the podcast. The story is freaking awesome. Buy the Book while you are at it, it's just as good!

MaladrexThis book was absolutely fantastic.Great author
-
S. BarnesTerrible! No class, no taste, no style, no wit- I could go on, but you get the idea. Set in an uncreative far-future scenario, this story starts unlikeable characters, features unsympathetic and pointless violence, has too many unexplained subplots and a dissapointing ending. This was drivel, and badly voice-acted drivel at that. If you're looking for a zingy thriller, click off this page and go for Sigler.
-
earthchicExcellentIf your looking for some good supernatural horror, you've found it. This podcast novel excels. Phil Rossi has a great reading voice and does the characters well. The audio and background music is great and the story is captivating. Check it out "Harvey" too! --ladydi77 where the birds chirp

Jailguy1122Just when you thought it was safe to go back into space. What a great story. Sent chills racing down my spine, in the middle of the day.

LeeleemamaCan't believe I waited this long to listen to this!!!Amazing. I truly can't believe I waited this long to listen to this awesome story. Phil, you are an incredible storyteller. I honestly hope this somehow gets turned into a movie. If not on the silver screen, than on the Sci-Fi channel. If a movie could be made of what was cast in my minds eye, it would be right up there with the greats like Alien and the 5th element. The sound bites creeped me the hell out now and then. The breathing one was eerie to the bone. I could go on and on about how much I loved your story. But I will end with this. You've got to listen to this one folks. It makes you almost wish your commute was longer. You WILL NOT be disappointed.

kjones00Meh...I really don't see why everybody thinks this book is so scary and thrilling. To me it read like the novelization of a sci-fi B movie, even though I really tried to like this book due to it's interesting premise. It's got all the B movie stereotypes...the corrupt official, the tough-guy protagonist, and a vague, undeveloped evil force with cheezy name. Last time I checked, the color "red" was not scary. Saw the ending coming a mile away and still managed to be let down by it. Sure, Crescent has it's moments, but on the whole the book just doesn't work. If you want something thrilling, check out Scott Sigler or Basil Sands. Honestly, the Crescent Vignettes(and other short stories) are much more interesting than the book, and I enjoyed those much more than I did the book. Perhaps Mr. Rossi should stick to the short stories....he doesn't seem able to stretch a story to novel length without it breaking several times.

razorwireflowersAfter a Second listenI recently purchased and finished the print version (which rocked) and i was inspired to come back and listen to the podcast *again.* And I couldn't ignore the below review--Crescent is one of the most professionally produced podcasts out there--true in 2007 and today. Production quality and audio quality are top notch--some of the highest you will find. If you ask anyone in podcasting that has listened to Crescent, they will agree. Sigler fans like this make the FDO look bad. Anway--Mr. Rossi--Crescent continues to rock my world, you continue to sound like Christian Slater.

MrMike2021Not impressed with productionKeep reading all these reviews telling me how great the story is, but I can't get beyond the horrible production quality. The audio is tinny like he's in a drainage culvert and it sounds like he's reading one line at a time, turning off his tape recorder between each sentence. I expect more from this author. Maybe when I run out of well produced podiobooks, I'll breakdown and actually finish this one, maybe.
-
NerrollusVery cool!Phil did a great job with the story and did an amazing job producing the audio. Fantastic selection of music and sound effects to really get you sucked into the story. Had me checking under the bed for a couple nights.
-
Mootusgood story, good reader unlistenable formateach podcast is about 30 minutes long the first 5 minutes of which is an add and recap (do we really need recaps on podcast) there is talk at the end and a full song on one I listened to, it really does not leave much time for actual story. I like to listen at work and it feels like every 20 I have to take out my phone and skim through the first few minutes trying to find where the story starts. Its just a pain. but as I said story is pretty good.
-
gordonthuluRefreshing Sci-fi Horror XoverRossi conveys a gritty and all too possible future combined with Lovecraftian horror elements. His vocal talents as a reader and the excellent editing found herein create an entertaining serial. Just enough information is fed to the listener that one can be both terrified and also left with an insatiable curiosity about frightening unknown that dogs the anti-heroes.

zakmalukKEEPS YOU TIED TO YOUR IPOD, WANTING MOREPhil Rossi, what can I say, you rock! Great story, well layed out, all of the characters melded together to meet the challange of the story line. Great job, will listen to Eden next, I know I won't be dissapointed.
-
pJammaCrescent EFIN rules!!!Phil Rossi rubs me the right way... in the dark... with audible barbed wire. Plug in if you doubt!
-
shadowpublications.comFantastic horror/sci-fiTake the movie Event Horizon, mix liberally with the universe of Firefly, and polish it off with intrigue and you get a fantastic listening experience. The only bad part about this book is Phil's not finished the sequel yet. As soon as this one's in dead-tree form, I'm buying it. Also, check out the Cresent Vignettes for more of the Crescent universe.
-
AngelrunOMG-this was one of the best books ever! This is a great story! I was facinated with the creativity Phil used. It was the first time, in a VERY long time, I was left with that "creepy" feeling when I was alone or in the dark...
-
Ocean_GirlGreat podiobook, one of the best I've listened to!I love this podiobook. It is most definately not for children and I think its ok for older teens (15+). I absolutely love the way the author uses sound effects, shouts, and whispers when the characters do, but not so much that he is hard to hear. The suspense is great. I spent hours just listening to chapter after chapter. When it comes to sound effects this is the best podiobook out there. The author's voice is crisp and clear as well.
-
Aeryn SoonGood book even with the goreI'm not a huge fan of horror but I am a huge sci-fi fan so I gave it a shot. The very best thing about this podiobook is the narrator/author. I love this man's voice! I'll listen to anything he reads. The story is good and kept me interested. Imaginative. One of the best podiobooks out.
-
jeannie01The story freaks you out, the voice is incredible!Phil Rossi has created a story that has me looking over my shoulder when it's dark. His voice and the extremely professional quality of the recordings are NOT to be missed. Just download this and listen - it will become your favorite really soon! Then check out his Notes from the Vault - equally spine-tingling! Keep up the amazing work!
-
JessiepkGood and CreepyI loved this story, written and narrated well. The ending left me a little unsatisfied, I felt like a lot of things never got explained or resolved. Maybe he's leaving it open for a sequel.
-
Wetlander87If Serenity had a child with Event Horizon Crescent would be its nameThis is simply the best presentation of the scifi-horror genre I have ever expereinced.
-
Barnett2.0Great sci-fi horror!!!This one is a little over the top and nasty in some places. It's not for the kids. I wouldn't recommend it for adults as far as some of the vulgarities go but the story is great. I was hooked from beginning to end. It reminded me of the classic sci-fi thriller "Event Horizon" but is clearly its own beast. Where is the next book?!!

FlippantMonikerSexy, ScaryPhil Rossi grabs you by the guts and scares you to death!

Burge75Dark Moody FunI stumbled upon the podiobooks section looking for an audio book for a business trip cross Montana. Phil Rossi is amazing. The story incredibly well written ( and free!!!Send this guy some money). In addition Phil sets the mood with a dark moody score and sound effects. Phil, bring us more Crescent stories!!!
-
nenimlasCrescent opened my eyes!Until this podcast I never really understood the meaning of the word "addiction". I caught a promo for this novel on my favorite 'cast at the time of finishing the story. Good thing too because I couldn't wait a week in between episodes. I found myself angry when I had finished all the episodes on my player yesterday and didnt have access to the computer to throw a few more on to staisfy my hunger for Crescent. I spend a lot of time with my earbuds in, and have almost finished it an a few days, will have finished by the time this is posted. Phill Rossi indeed will one day be a household name, especially if he keeps writing. If I had not liked this I may have not tried other artists and podcast novels. Thank you for introducing me to the world of podcast novels.
-
Feyd 521AwesomeOf all the pod books out there, Crescent has got to be the coolest listen I've ever come across. The story is well written and extemely well produced.
-
MatWellerKiller-good story!Rossi, I have to tell you, this is my first forray into the indie author podcast/book, and you have both excited and scared me. I'm excited that there may be a whole world of awesome quality audio-drama out there waiting for me to discover it. I'm afraid that I may have hit the jackpot the first time and may not find anything to match it. This is VERY well done. I highly recommend it.
-
sodiumnitriteBest audio book I have ever heardThis story is awesome. Phil is a great author and narrator. I would highly recommend this story to anyone who like sci-fi or horror. This is a must listen!

-
pammy kCrescentThis was my first audiobook and it has me hooked!! Great entertainment! Bravo, Mr. Rossi!
-
Dracool47BlahI'm not a big fan of horror or sci fi so maybe this was lost on me. The writing was fine, the performance was very good...but the story is so dull and predictable. I listened to 3/4 of the podcast and got too bored to bother to finish it. No clue how the story ends and I really don't care. I couldn't take it any more.
-
Jeremy G.Great Podio BookI just finished Phil Rossi's "Crescent". The book is freaking great! It's a must to listen.
-
TD-0013Fekkin' good stuff...Cresent is a great, great story with a very well thought out plot and deep, likable (and in some cases, very unlike-able) characters. Great job, Phil!
