starrypoolCome backI really miss this show. I keep checking.

dyactavc (he/they)Why does Spotify get rid of the good shows? Why does Spotify get rid of the good shows? My guess is greed- they want us to use Spotify. Nobody- including me- is using your platform. There are too many privacy concerns with data collection. This was a great show.
-
1volt28Bring it back!I was hoping this show would have come back by now 😞.
-
NullityCome back!I’m torn about Alex Blumberg — well he created some wonderful shows or at least had them under the gimlet media umbrella, he got rid of a bunch of wonderful shows too not only this one but Mystery Show as well. Do a search on “Starlee gimlet toxic” for the full story on that. You can, however, redeem yourself by bringing back these shows.
-
GushiFerretAmazing podcast, gone too soon!ELT was an amazing podcast and a joy to listen to, and it’s yet another creative venture that was crushed by Spotify. *slow clap* I’m sure Alex Blumberg got paid though.

gskstheyjeyEvery little thinglove this show, and i made the switch as soon as i heard they were switching, awesome show.😋😃

Molino GirlLove the show but won’t be going to SpotifyInteresting show but I will not be following to Spotify due to privacy concerns related to how Spotify collects info and uses it. I advise people to google how Spotify collects and uses the huge amount of info they collect especially the Wired.com article on “All the ways Spotify tracks you”. It’s crazy. If ELT values their listener’s privacy they will stay with Apple podcasts which is more privacy protective. Google Apple podcast and privacy info.

sashakokorokokoLove the show hate SpotifyLove this show and used to recommend and send to all my friends. Will never download Spotify. F minus

jjlaneEw.Resentfully switching to Spotify for y’all
-
blooreaderBummedBummer they’re moving to Spotify but I won’t be listening anymore I suppose.
-
MbotgthousndSpotif-why?You will be missed like a good friend who has betrayed me and moved to Spotify. Spotify is double-plus ungood.
-
Miss MeiReasonsI’m a bit offended that I’m being told the reason why I don’t want to switch to Spotify is fear of change. I don’t want to switch because the idea of exclusion is morally repugnant to me. However like many, my moral beliefs often get squashed in the face of denying pleasure. I’ll probably listen on Spotify but it will be at a cost.
-
jbrovageGreat showI’ve really liked Flora and the whole team. I’ll be coming to Spotify because of them. Thanks for great content, ELT!
-
hfdyhdyhjcjfugkcgkxjvSpotify exclusiveWhat a shame! I pay for Spotify and have for years— but I won’t be listening to this show anymore, or any of the Gimlet shows I used to love & recommend that are now exclusively on Spotify. What a shameful, anti-consumer business tactic
-
IsEveryNickNameTaken12345Goodbye ELT, will miss youGreat podcast kudos to the authors! I will miss this show. But yet another show I won’t be following to Spotify. Swapping monopolies is not a plus for consumers.
-
2BJTNo to the switchLove the podcast but add me to the long list of people who refuse to be forced to download and use a bad app ill suited for podcasts for ANY podcast. I’m dropping all the podcasts I’ve previously enjoyed that are making the anti-user forced switch to Spotify only.
-
tsar1900Moving?Goodbye ELT, I'll miss the show but I don't follow to Spotify.
-
Marg111111111Absolutely following Flora to SpotifySo happy to have Flora back! I absolutely loved the auctioneer episode and the kangaroo episode had me in tears laughing. To those of you who love ELT but aren’t willing to get another app, do you realize how many hours it takes to make a podcast and how hard it is to be paid for all of that hard work? If you love ELT it’s no big deal to take a few seconds and download the app. Whatever it takes to keep this amazing podcast going!
-
Book Reader 1Amazing podcast, SO disappointing that it’s moving the Spotify onlyI love this podcast, and am so sad it’s moving to Spotify only. Let people listen where they want. Have it delayed or more ads or something on Apple. I really hate this whole siloing of content that’s already happened with tv - please don’t ruin podcasts too Spotify.
-
zakelo52Great show but not switching to SpotifyI have always enjoyed this show with stories and new information. I will not be listening any longer however as I am not going to subscribe to this on Spotify for the one show while I have everything else on my regular player. Enjoy your declining listener base as I see many also feel the same way. Sad to watch a great show slowly die from bad management decisions.
-
GizmoGurkGreat little Podcast, but won’t be transferringThis is a fun little informative podcast that I’ve enjoyed listening to. Alas, they must pay their bills so will be exclusively on Spotify in the future. Rather than download yet another app (which was sorely lacking when I tried it in the past) instead of using my favorite podcast player, I’ve decided to bid Flora and the gang farewell. Along with this decision I’ll be getting rid of iHeart-only and other exclusive Podcasts (I guess they aren’t really Podcasts anymore if you can’t get them on a Podcast player, hmm?), and clean up my devices a bit. I hope I’m not alone in bucking the trend of forcing us to download more apps.
-
wert 2347Great!Great!but the “plus”thing bothers me.I have no idea why but I do. EDIT: I don’t want to transfer…….Really brings this rating down .but I haven’t tried Spotify
-
JRPQTGreat auctioneer podcastFlora did a masterful job in running the show with interesting and insightful and even a little aggressive questions. Junior was a great resource person and the caller was a very good sport. My wife and I enjoyed the show a lot!
-
cms5501Changing platformsI love this show and for the content I would rate it a 5/5. However, I’m not listening to some podcasts on this platform, some on Spotify, some in Wondry, etc. So Unfortunately, I’ll probably stop listening after the switch.
-
WestUnivMatSorry to see you goI now have a couple of shows going to Spotify only and I will miss them both, especially Flora and Every Little Thing. Please come back to Apple.
-
Hunter HolderGreat show, but screw SpotifyUpdate: Sorry to hear ELT is moving to Spotify exclusively. I won’t support Spotify due to their treatment of artists and other sponsors they support. Never before have I gone so far into the backlog for a podcast, but I think I’ve found my new favorite. This show has it all: drama, suspense, an elaborate plot, and tons of cool facts about stuff! (Okay, I don’t think the first three things are actually true, but they do build up well to mentioning all of the cool facts, which are really cool!) The host is really witty and always keeps the conversation going well, and her guests are always interesting people. This is basically the perfect formula for a podcast, because it can go on indefinitely (or at least until the world runs out of mysteries) and there’s always something new and interesting. If you’re a trivia person, or you just like knowing things about wombat butts, I highly recommend this one.

1Marley1Don’t go…Show deserves 5 stars. One of the best. So disappointed in the move to Spotify only
-
Heidimrobs1985Great show!Incredible podcast! Very sad that it’s going to Spotify only, though. Love the show, but the Spotify app is a nightmare (bad navigation, won’t download properly etc etc) not to mention they don’t pay the shows enough. Hope your contract is short ELT, and I’ll be listening again when it’s over.
-
MMHReviewsMoving to Spotify 😭😭😭While the business decisions of managing a podcast is beyond me, I do know that I have often lost interest in postcasts after their move to Spotify. Best wishes to the ELT team in their new home at only Spotify.
-
FrankG84Spotify only?Good luck. I’ve got a million other podcasts to listen to over here.
-
caity macF*** SpotifyI’m not changing my podcast app just for the gimlet shows. The one star review is for Spotify, ruining podcasts. I’m just going to go unsub from any gimlet shows I have left in my feed, so stupid. I’m not sure I have any left anyway. I wish Spotify never bought gimlet, it’s been all downhill ever since.
-
Jacob.MartinDisappointedI’ve enjoyed ELT since it was Surprisingly Awesome. I’m disappointed in the Gimlet/Spotify. This frog is getting out of the pot
-
valk0903Spotify Ruins PodcastsFive stars for the show, zero for the move to podcast gobbling Spotify. I’m sorry to see you go. Will be sending donations to independent podcasters.
-
KellerrrrLove the show, sad it’s leaving for SpotifyBummed to hear that ELT is going to Spotify. I love ELT but I don’t love Spotify. The app is terrible and they don’t pay their artists well. Sorry, but I’m not moving to Spotify for this show. RIP ELT.
-
etherdogSpotify only is the death knell for formerly great podcastsSo many Gimlet podcasts are moving off Apple’s feed. Such a tragedy that we won’t be able to hear them again. When Astronauts Return was particularly moving. I won’t do Instagram or Twitter because of their practices so I cannot see the extra content.
-
FowdallGimlet = Spotify = Privacy IntrusionGreat show. Spotify exclusivity is an anti consumer decision that’s bad for business. I hope you reconsider but you won’t see me on Spotify.
-
Ben Fowler VTThanks ELT, Anticonsumer Spotify ChoiceThanks for the journey ELT, particularly during the pandemic—gratitude from me and my family. Sorry to see you guys make such an anticonsumer choice to go exclusively to Spotify. It’s not just an inconvenience, Flora (welcome back, BTW!!). It’s a decision to force users to become the subject of extensive user data/behavior tracking which Spotify engages in. Best of luck, and we’ll be here if you decide to come back.
-
NopeIWontBoo, Spotify!Such a shame to see this show move to the Spotify only platform. It’s been a joy listening to this podcast for the past several years and I will miss Flora and the gang like family.
-
songofjoy93Love hearing the stories from experts! This podcast is so refreshing! I love that Flora and the team look for answers to all the little questions from experts in the field! It’s cool to hear all the interviews of people in all these unique fields!
-
All Most DoneSorry to see you goGood while it lasted, moving to Spotify?.. podcasts are teasing the same structure as the cable companies. I wish your show success, but I will not be joining.

Josh52175So glad you addressed race and cultural perspectiveI just heard the latest episode on Gentle Parenting with Kobe and Kyle, and it started to address a lot of issues that have come up for me as I’ve been trying to practice what Dr. Becky preaches, the biggest being: What happens when gentle parenting doesn’t seem to be “working” at discouraging disruptive or even dangerous behaviors? The most enlightening part of the discussion for me was when Dr. Becky talked about how this style of parenting is taking a “risk” that by allowing a child to express their full range of feelings - even if the expression is in the form of behaviors that are “unacceptable” or even dangerous in a culture - you are betting that eventually the child will learn how to regulate those disruptive behaviors. I’ve been struggling with my 6yo daughter who has been hitting and name calling at school, despite my attempts to address the underlying feelings resulting in those behaviors while establishing boundaries that such behavior is not acceptable. What a twist and an utterly disturbing mind game when those behaviors could literally get your child killed. How do you not tell you kids that if they don’t stop, they could get hurt? For me the kicker is the “eventually” part and the faith you have to have that this method of parenting is better than the alternative. It’s so easy to think that this new method will solve all your problems and make your kids wonderful people, but if you can’t put a time frame around WHEN that will happen or even offer an absolute IF that will happen, how do you reassure parents that this is the best thing to do?? I will keep listening and keep trying. I really appreciate the frank discussions that don’t turn this into a magic cure-all for bad behaviors. It really is hard.
-
JesskuhlynnswanBest concept, best hostI love this show! It is my dream, as an academic, to have the right mix of obscure research-related knowledge to answer one of these factual emergencies. Flora is a great host with the right voice, vibe, and vocabulary to make even the most awkward guests seem playful and interesting. While I do hope she’s enjoying a long and beautiful parental leave, I’m ready for her to come back!
-
BillNVTWhen astronauts come homeI have been enjoying this cast since "Surprisingly Awesome." This is the best episode yet (all the flamigo coverage is almost as good). This particular episode (of a great podcast) is the very best because it includes the excellent (and usual) Q+A funniness and the most awesome astronaut ever, Dr. Peggy Whitson. Seriously, I do not support NASA (there are better ways to spend money), but Dr. Whitson became a hero of mine in this episode.
-
3.1209974light fascism with your factual emergencyLove the podcast itself, but any podcast that uses ads for the military that specifically solicit young people without other options is not for me. Unfollowed, etc.
-
MichaelhiltonGreatAwesome but we’re did all the old shows go
