    I loved it!
I love it. Plays out great in the theater of the mind. A simple teen zombie story with characters we have all seen/heard before, but it works. Well done Mr. Crawford. One thing I would like to add is the music/score is much better than what I hear on a lot of these podiobooks. Thank you for not going the "unsigned crappy metal band" route. Cheers.

    AWESOME!
I really liked this novel! It was great! I am so happy that I didn't get discouraged by reading the poor reviews because they were DEAD WRONG! I finished listening to the novel in one day because I just could'nt get enough! Can't wait for the sequel!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    Meh
The story follows a few popular kids so I don't mind the stereotypes. But the music ruins the flow of the story especially when they are hiding in the attic. A climactic grab at a characters feet should be scary, but they put acoustic guitars and flutes or something under the dialogue. 4 on story. 1 on music. 4 on character acting. This could have been epic. But cliches and terrible music, along with a few badly acted scenes ruined it.

    I really didn't expect that!
This podcast novel is NOT read by the the author, but a cast of talented people that did an amazing job. Listening to the different voices it really carried me throughtout the story and actually care about what happened to each character. I'm not a fan of the ending, but even so, I don't regret listening to the story. Fantastic Job Everyone!

    Booooo!!!
I hate to write a nasty review but this writer deserves it. I know it is free, but people's time is worth more than this. Not a huge fan of teenager stories. But I can enjoy them if the teenagers are real characters, well developed human beings... Not so this story. First, we have to listen to the lewd description of each cheerleader's body parts and features and how it makes her sexy, as though that establishes a character... Like listening to some paedo drooling over jail bait. And it doesn't stop there, every chance he gets to talk about teenage girls bodies and teenage sex, he takes it. Then we have the totally cliched boys - the nerd, the bully, the cool kid, the idiot rivalries that have been done to death... I won't get started on the moronic dialogue. A couple hours in to this mindless, recycled garbage and I was wishing a zombie would have gotten to the author. I couldn't finish it - it was insipid torture. Maybe it gets better, but with lame characters and offensive teenager oggling, I really don't care if it does... THere are LOTS of great, free zombie podcasts. DOn't waste your time with this...

Could not listen to the whole thing...
I really wanted to like this story. I love all things zombie. I love Variant Frequencies and was pleased the Stringers were involved. I enjoyed the Prologue, that's what originally drew me in. Sadly, I found the characters to be stereotypes/charactures. They felt pretty one-dimensional. The story was rife with cliches. By the 6th chapter, the whole affair felt trite and I could not carry on. For whatever reason, it really stuck in my craw that the author described a noxious odor as "really bad". "Horrific", "foul beyond all reckoning", or "it was like someone vomited the country of India on a bucket of fish heads" all would have been more descriptive. But I'm weird like that. This is all my humble opinion, please try the story on for yourself. I hope it's a better fit for you than it was for me.

    Good not great
Thank goodness for the ending. Without it the story would have been Resident Evil on a mountain with a much less likeable heroine than Milla Jovovich. I would have rated it a 3 but the end alone was worth another star. Overall it was entertaining but if the characters been less irritating I would have rooted for them more.

    Great
I really thought the audiobook was fantastic, thought it was going to just another zombie flick but it wasn't. I love the authors style. Give it a try!

Great story with great production quality
Just finished Kenn's book and thoroughly enjoyed it. The narration and all of the voice cast was top notch. Kenn's story was very enjoyable and left many great cliffhangers. Had I been listening to this in bed, I might have been freaked out a bit. I listened to the majority of this while cycling along through a wilderness preserve- I can honestly say that while I normally am watching out for the wildlife as I zip by at 20 mph, the thought of zombies marching out of the woods beside me had me a little more on edge. Love the cover image too!

    Exceeded my expectations
I was pleasantly surprised by this podcast. For some reason I was expecting it to be of lesser quality and content than others I've listened to, but it exceeded those expectations by far. I really enjoyed the characters and the plot. It's science fiction at its best and I highly recommend this podcast to any who would enjoy a good old zombie story with an interesting twist. I am looking forward to the sequel.

    Grows on you
Don't let the brevity of detail in the prologue turn you off from listening further.

    Good listen
Ok a previous person obviously didn't listen to the whole story because we heard what happen w Paul.. Yes it's pretty cliche but it doesn't mean it's not an enjoyable listen, yes it's obvious but it's still a decent podcast.

    Really?!
I absolutely loved this book, and I am definitely not a zombie fan, but this book caught and held my attention... Please tell me there's more though... That just can't be the end!! The ending is the only thing I didn't care for, personally, otherwise, it was FANTASTIC! Must listen.
  • CasperBones

    Dead hunt
This is a good zombie(are they really zombies) story.
  • chinadrgn
    It's a C+
I like the narrator but I'm only 10 min into the first chapter and half of that is a description of the cheerleader's sweaty jiggling boobs, thighs and such. I would like to get a better story set up or less about the character's physical appearance.
  • sweetartist
    Interesting
I have a ton of artwork to do and need to remain seated to complete my goals, so I watch movies and play audio books to keep me seated as well as keep up with time. This audio is actually good and I look forward to the next chapters. Great job to the auther and cast. LOL I love the Australian guy.
